Embora as
respectivamente).
adequadamente especificado (Bryk e Raudenbush 1992). No início do
meninas.
No início do estudo, as
Houve
crescimento.
FATHER GREATER HEIGHT AND MOTHER WITH GREATER DEGREE OF

CHILD, CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITH LOW HEIGHT WITH GHD
CONTINUED TO HAVE WORKING AS LOW HEIGHT THAT WERE DELAYED
INITIAL GROWTH . THE BEGINNING OF THE STUDY AND EACH
SUBSEQUENT TIME , THERE WAS NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES IN
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT AMONG CHILDREN WITH AND WITHOUT A
HISTORY OF THE HOME OF GROWTH DEFICIENCY .
Children in groups of short stature by DGH and community did not differ
in most sociodemographic characteristics. However, parents of children in
the community group were taller and mothers had more years of
schooling. The mothers in the group of short stature due to growth
deficiency were less thoughtful when feeding their children.
5. Their children had better health
and temperament easier than
the children of mothers in the
community group. At baseline
and each subsequent time, there
were no significant differences in
height and weight between
children with and without a
history of early growth
deficiency. Although children in
the group by GHD short stature
continued to lag behind children
in the community group in
weight and height at the age of 6
years, the number of children
who were left with smaller and
/or has not increased at baseline (Z-scores below DP-2) was reduced by 6
years of age (from 18% to 3% to 31% and 3%, respectively).
Weight children with and without early growth linear deficiency.
Median=50th percentile, based on the standards of the NCHS-National
Center for Health Statistics-growth charts (1,979 Hamill et al.).
Forecast growth in height.
As an initial step, a hierarchical linear modeling, HLM random effects, with
the result that time and no other predictors were performed. The
statistical deviation from this test was used to compare with a second
model in which age and weight were inserted as predictive effect of
random high. The results indicated an improved fit. The linear age
parameter set at the best polynomial models other than data. The child's
weight was included as a predictor of random height level because
6. correlated with height differed for children with short stature due to GHD
and community groups. Entering, weight as a predictor of time in Level 1
and as a predictor of the intercept at Level 2 should eliminate spurious
relationships confused by weight (Bryk and Raudenbush 1992). The test
for homogeneity of variance 1 level was not significant, suggesting that
the model is properly specified (Bryk and Raudenbush 1992). At baseline,
the taller children were older, with higher and older mothers with no
history of growth deficiency, mothers who were more thoughtful with
their children during feeding perceived that their children were healthier
and easier temperament. Furthermore, significant interaction between
groups (low height for GHD or community) and child health, temperament
and maternal nutrition with attention. For the community group, the
effect of child health in height was stronger than in the group of short
stature due to growth hormone deficiency.
Likewise, the effects of maternal care during nutrition and more difficult
child behavior were stronger in the community than in the group of short
stature due to GHD group. Analysis of the growth curve predicts the
7. growth patterns of genetics, child, and level of family factors (final model).
By examining the linear growth at 6 years of age (e.g., the slope of height
for age), children who had the highest growth rate in recruitment were
younger, had higher parents and were heavier, with no history of growth,
better health, easier temperaments, disabled mothers were more
thoughtful and children were girls. There was a group by the interaction of
maternal nutrition, with a stronger effect of maternal nutrition on height
for the community group that the group of short stature due to growth
hormone deficiency.
Forecast growth in weight.
Using a similar analytical strategy, the Level 1 model with age and height
had a good fit and was homogeneous. At level 2, the genetic
characteristics and child models indicated a good fit. Familial
characteristics do not improve the fit. At baseline, the heaviest children
had parents who were taller and heavier. Moreover, the heavier children
were older, more health temper easier and growth impairment. Significant
interactions were found between history of child growth and measures of
their health and temperament. The associations were stronger for
children in the community than in the group without growth deficiency
group. The rate of weight change was stronger for children who were
younger at recruitment, with heavier mothers without a history of growth
and better health disabilities. The interaction between maternal
perception of health history and infant growth was significant, indicating
that the effects of child health were stronger for the community group
than the group without growth deficiency.
