no livro de Greülich et Pyle “Radiografic Atlas of Skeletal Development,
longos, principalmente coluna vertebral e perna.

4. These predictions are based on observations that show that the more
delayed bone age (relative to chronological age), the longer the time
that the epiphyseal fusion takes to stop the growth. The method most
often used to predict the height, based on the book by Greülich et Pyle
"Atlas of Skeletal Development Radiografic, From Stanford Univerty, was
developed by Beyle and Pinneu and depends bone age, height and a
semiquantitative variable for chronological age. The system involves
employees and Tanner height, bone age, chronological age and during
puberty, the advancement of height and bone age in previous years, as
well as status of menarche. Roche et al. has combined height, bone age,
chronological age, average height and weight of parents. Attempts were
made to calculate the final height without using bone age, using multiple
regression analysis with data such as height, weight, values obtained at
birth and average height of parents. Unfortunately all these methods are
not accurate, because when there are several methods for measuring a
particular factor most likely not meet all clinical researchers and scholars
with regard to their achievement, and that is exactly what happens in
this case the prediction of final height in adults because medical science
is a means, not Cartesian, all these systems are by nature empirical and
not exact. The more advanced bone age is, the higher the accuracy of the
prediction of adult height, because the more advanced bone age puts
the patient closer to its final height. Paradoxical as it may seem, is
predictable to anyone who has low longitudinal height and expects to
grow disaster, forcing it cannot delay the decision making eventually be
viable growth for not being fully closed epiphyseal bone, cartilage
5. growth or growth plate including left hand and wrist and long bones,
especially vertebral column and leg. All methods for predicting height
(stature) are based on data of normal children, and none was considered
necessary for children with abnormal growth. For that kind of precision,
it would be necessary to develop an atlas for each specific disease (e.g.,
Turner syndrome). Tables for predicting height should be used with
extreme caution when giving values for possible heights; for example, in
patients with precocious puberty who are treated with agonists of
gonadotropin-releasing hormone to avoid misinterpretation of data.
Clinical endocrinologists and more frequent endocrinopediatricians
should not make predictions in stature with values that are greater than
a reasonable estimate, it is not uncommon for professional area without
any preliminary evaluation instrumental or clinical laboratory (therefore
no diagnosis), make the mistake to give as a prediction based on the
average height of the parents values, because before 1985 the therapy
was moot due to growth and Prions CJD among others, which was
almost eliminated or lessened with the modern technology of therapy
with GH rDNA and putting check in the vaunted "parents small children,"
a frequent and technically inappropriate because other variants, which
does not mean disregarding the biological fathers and brothers, simple
mistake heights.
