Multimodal metaphors in multimedia language learning histories
O que dizem os aprendizes sobre as escolas
1. O que dizem os aprendizes
de inglês sobre as escolas
Vera Menezes (UFMG/CNPq)
2. • Solange verificou que os cursos de Letras como tais
são ausentes da imprensa; quando representados
pelos profissionais que se formam nesses contextos,
a visão é predominantemente negativa.
• Otília demonstrou como os alunos se apropriam da
teoria e como revelam isso no capítulo teórico de
seus TCCs.
• Edna enfatizou que o ensino da escrita baseada nos
gêneros textuais provê aos estudantes conhecimento
sobre a relação entre o contexto sociocultural dos
textos e sua estrutura linguística.
3. O que dizem os aprendizes
sobre sua aprendizagem de
inglês?
4. • Corpus: histórias de aprendizagem
de língua inglesa, coletadas no
Brasil, China,Finlândia e Japão,.
(projeto AMFALE).
5. BRAZIL
• Then I went to high school, where English classes are simply
awful. Every year the same subjects were taught to us, such as
verb to be, negative forms, interrogative forms etc. However,
the sport I have been practicing from that period so far is full
of English words and expressions, what made me more
interested in English.
• Teachers spoke all the time, there were no new activities and
almost all the classes concerned with grammar. It seems that
they were afraid of doing something more daring, something
new,…
6. CHINA
For 7 years, I was 'filled' with
grammar rules and exam tips, then
'vomited' them out in the exams...
7. FINLAND
• At school we mostly concentrated on grammar and vocabulary.
Part of me is very grateful of that, because it has given me a
quite solid base of them. I feel that only after compulsory
schooling I have found fun sides of studying english e.g reading
novels, stories and fanfiction.I have learned that although
learning english can be hard work sometimes it still is
very enjoyable.
• English learning at school was about grammar and vocabulary
and about tests and external evaluation.
8. JAPÃO
• When I was a junior high school (…) I read a textbook,
memorized new words and learned grammar by heart. (…)
• In school, my teacher taught us only grammar or how to read
sentences. My teacher hardly taught us oral conversation. That
is why I learned to get English grammar and vocabulary;
however, I could not have a conversation with other people
well. I came to hate studying English little by little.
9. Propiciamento
(affordance)
• van LIER (2004, p.91) define propiciamento como
“aquilo que está disponível para a utilização da
pessoa”, ou “algo com potencial para a ação e que
emerge quando interagimos com o mundo físico e
social. As precondições para que o significado
emirja são ação, percepção e interpretação em um
ciclo contínuo de reforço mútuo”. (p.92)
van Lier, L. (2004) The Ecology and Semiotics of Language Learning: A
socio-cultural perspective. London: Kluwer.
