7. A mídia é um dos principais agentes que influenciam
na construção social dos padrões de beleza. O
cinema, a música, a indústria da beleza e as redes
sociais expõem constantemente modelos com
características que se encaixam nesses padrões. Além
disso, as alterações feitas nas imagens, por meio de
tecnologias, criam padrões irreais e inatingíveis.

Essa idealização do corpo pode ter consequências graves para
a autoestima das pessoas, especialmente para aquelas que
não se encaixam nesses ideais, podendo fazê-las se sentir
inadequadas, desvalorizadas e, até mesmo, indesejadas.
8. Atualmente, há vários movimentos que questionam os padrões de
beleza considerados “tradicionais” e que cobram uma maior diversidade
na mídia. Cada vez mais as pessoas estão defendendo a ideia de que a
beleza é diversa e não existe um único padrão de beleza que seja válido
para todos.
Esse movimento é importante para promover a
aceitação da diversidade e para ajudar as pessoas a
se sentirem mais confortáveis com sua própria
aparência.
