6. Imperative Form
O Imperativo é um dos três modos verbais do
inglês e seu uso é semelhante ao português. Ele
é usado para expressar uma ordem, um
pedido ou um oferecimento.

O imperativo pode ser usado também em
sugestões, conselhos,
instruções, proibições, avisos,
convites.

I- Para se formar o imperativo basta eliminar a partícula TOdo
infinitivo do verbo.
to close = fechar
Close the door! (Feche a porta!)

II- O modo imperativo também pode ser usado na forma
negativa, para isso basta acrescentar DON’’T ou DO
NOT antes do verbo no infinitivo sem o to.
to speak = falar
Don’t speak so loud! (Não fale tão alto!)
10. Imperative Form
III- A forma imperativa LET’’S (vamos) é usada para
expressar uma proposta, sugestão ou um convite. E neste caso
não apenas o ouvinte, mas o falante também está incluído na
ação. Ela pode ser usada nas formas afirmativa e negativa.
Observe os exemplos abaixo:
Forma Afirmativa:
to go out = sair
Let’s go out tonight! (Vamos sair hoje à noite!)
Forma Negativa:
to visit = visitar
Let’s not visit Mary today! (Não vamos visitar Mary hoje!).
