This study compared the vegetation and soil parameters of a 12-year-old agroforestry system directed by natural succession (A12) to an abandoned pasture area (A0) to evaluate the effects of management. The results showed that the A12 area had more advanced successional vegetation with higher diversity and soil nutrients compared to the A0 area. The agroforestry system directed by natural succession was effective in improving soil and vegetation conditions and has potential as a more sustainable production model.
