IFC's prime aim in its advisory assignments is to facilitate the decision-making of the client at all stages in the transaction. This naturally involves a collaborative approach, which is a feature of all of our work. The desire, and capacity, to become involved in managing the detail of the process for themselves varies considerably from client to client. In some cases the process of interface would be continuous and detailed, particularly when in-depth expertise and experience exists within the company. The value that IFC would bring to the table consists of experience in advising on similar complex transitions, and how to integrate the various disciplines involved in the project in a structured way. We are also able constantly to provide the private sector perspective as the reference point against which key decisions must be assessed. For this reason, we traditionally act as lead adviser, managing, controlling and coordinating the work of other individual consultants/advisors on the client’s behalf, to ensure that their work is directed towards achieving the client's goals in a timely manner. The preparation phase culminates with a strategy report prepared by IFC which includes all the analysis conducted by the other consultants / advisors and provides in-depth analysis of the various options for the Government as well as recommendations.
