2. God Speaks to Noah
Many years after God created the
world, there were many, many people.
However, they were so evil that God
decided to destroy the world with a
flood.
Noah was a good man. God told
Noah about the flood he planned to
send. He also told Noah to build a large
boat. Noah obeyed God and he and his
three sons built the boat as God
instructed.
Deus fala com Noé
Após um longo tempo, havia muitas
pessoas vivendo no mundo. Elas
estavam tão más que Deus decidiu
destruir o mundo inteiro com um
dilúvio.
Noé era homem justo. Deus contou
a Noé sobre o dilúvio que planejava
enviar e disse para Noé construir um
grande barco. Noé obedeceu a Deus.
Ele e seus três filhos construíram o
barco como Deus havia orientado.
3. After the flood, God blessed
Noah and his sons. He told
them, "I am putting a
rainbow in the sky as a sign
of My promise to never send
a flood of water to cover the
whole earth again.“
Depois do grande dilúvio,
Deus abençoou Noé e seus
filhos, dizendo-lhes: “
Estabeleço uma aliança com
vocês: Nunca mais haverá
dilúvio para destruir a terra.
Vou colocar o meu arco nas
nuvens. O arco-íris será o
sinal da aliança que estou
fazendo com o mundo."
4. God Speaks to Abraham
Many years after the flood, God
spoke to a man named Abraham.
God told him, "Leave your country
and family and go to the land I will
show you. I will bless you and
make you a great nation. All
families on earth will be blessed
because of you.“
Deus fala com Abrão
Muitos anos após o dilúvio, Deus
falou com um homem chamado
Abrão. Deus lhe disse: “Deixe o seu
país e a sua família e vá para a
terra que Eu te mostrarei. Eu te
abençoarei e farei de você uma
grande nação. Todas as famílias da
terra serão abençoadas por sua
causa.”
5. So Abraham obeyed God. He took
his wife, Sarah, together with all of
his servants and everything he
owned and went to the land God
showed him, the land of Canaan.
God spoke to Abraham again and
promised that he would have as
many descendants as the stars in
the sky. Abraham believed God's
promise.
Então Abrão obedeceu a Deus: Ele
Deus falou novamente a Abrão,
prometendo que ele teria um filho
e muitos descendentes como as
estrelas no céu. Abrão acreditou na
promessa de Deus.
6. God kept His promise. Sarah,
Abraham’s wife, bore him
Isaac, the forefather of the
Jews. And Sarah's
handmaiden, Hagar, bore him
Ishmael, forefather of the
Arabs.
Deus honrou Sua promessa.
Sara, com mais de 90 anos,
deu à luz a Isaque, um
antepassado dos judeus. E a
sua serva, Hagar, deu à luz a
Ismael, antepassado dos
árabes.
7. “Speak, Lord, Your Servant Listens”
Little Samuel served the Lord by helping Eli the priest. One night, while Samuel was sleeping, God
called him. Samuel sat up in his bed and answered, “Speak, Lord. As Your servant, I am listening”. God
then spoke to Samuel with an important message.
Samuel grew up serving the Lord and later became one of the most important prophets and judges in
the history of Israel.
“Fala, pois o teu servo está
escutando!”
Samuel ainda era menino e
ajudava Eli na adoração a Deus.
Certa noite, Samuel dormia na
Tenda Sagrada e o Senhor Deus
chamou:
— Samuel, Samuel!
— Fala, pois o teu servo está
escutando! — respondeu
Samuel. Então Deus deu a
Samuel uma importante
mensagem.
Samuel cresceu servindo ao
Senhor, e se tornou um dos
maiores profetas e juízes da
História de Israel.
8. Peter's Vision
Peter went up on the flat roof to pray and saw a vision. In his vision, the sky opened and something
like a large sheet was let down by its four corners. In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles, and
birds. Then a voice said to him, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat them.”
“No, Lord,” Peter declared. “I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure
and unclean.”
But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”
pendurado pelas quatro pontas.
Dentro do lençol havia todos os tipos
de animais de quatro patas, de
bichos que se arrastam e de aves
voadoras. Então uma voz lhe disse:
—Levante-se, Pedro! Mate e coma!
Pedro disse: —De maneira
nenhuma, Senhor! Eu nunca comi
nada que fosse vulgar e impuro.
A voz lhe falou pela segunda vez:
—Não chame de impuro aquilo que
Deus purificou.
9. As Peter was puzzling over the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, “Three men have come looking for
you. Get up, go downstairs, and go with them without hesitation. Don’t worry, for I have sent them.”
The next day Peter went with them to Caesarea, were Cornelius, a Roman captain, was waiting for
them together with his relatives and close friends. Peter said to them, "You know it is against our laws for
a Jewish man to enter into the home of a non-Jewish family like this or to associate with you. But God
has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean. God shows no favoritism. In
every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.
Chegaram a Cesaréia onde
Cornélio, um comandante romano, tinha
reunido seus parentes e amigos mais
chegados e estava esperando por eles. Pedro
Deus,
porém, me mostrou que não devo considerar
ninguém vulgar ou impuro. Ele aceita as
pessoas que o temem e que praticam o bem,
não importando de que nação elas sejam.
10. Jesus Speaks to Paul
Paul did not believe in Jesus, and so he persecuted the believers. He went from house to house in
Jerusalem to arrest both men and women and to put them in prison.
While Paul was on his way to Damascus, a bright light from heaven shone all around him, and he fell to
the ground. Paul heard someone say, "Paul! Paul! Why do you persecute me?" Paul asked, "Who are you,
Master?" Jesus replied to him, "I am Jesus. You are persecuting me!"
Jesus fala com Paulo
Paulo não acreditava em
Jesus e por isso perseguia
aqueles que confiavam Nele.
Ele ia de casa em casa em
Jerusalém, prendendo homens
e mulheres e colocando-os na
prisão.
Enquanto Paulo estava a
caminho de Damasco, uma
forte luz vinda do céu brilhou,
de repente, à sua volta e ele
caiu no chão. Ele ouviu uma voz
lhe dizer: “Paulo, Paulo! Por que
você me persegue?” Assustado,
ele perguntou: “Quem é o
senhor, Mestre?” E a voz
respondeu: “Eu sou Jesus,
aquele que você persegue!”
11. Paul’s sight was restored after a Christian prayed for him and from that point on Paul became the
most dynamic of the early Christians.
Many years later, Paul was arrested in Jerusalem. That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be
encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good
News in Rome as well.”
For two years, Paul lived in Rome. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom
of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
noite seguinte o Senhor,
pondo-se ao lado dele, disse:
“Coragem! Assim como você
testemunhou a meu respeito
em Jerusalém, deverá
testemunhar também em
Roma”.
Por dois anos Paulo
permaneceu na Roma.
Pregava o Reino de Deus e
ensinava a respeito do Senhor
Jesus Cristo, abertamente e
sem impedimento algum.
