2. Conceitos Iniciais
Gênero é uma construção social, sendo masculino e feminino os
possíveis e legitimados pela sociedade. Associa-se gênero a genital e
espera-se que haja uma perfeita simetria entre sexo biológico, gênero
e orientação sexual, considerada como uma “verdade universal” ou
uma “verdade biológica”. Ao mesmo tempo que essa simetria produz
“corpos perfeitos”, ela provoca também exclusão e sofrimento a quem
não consegue reproduzir essa lógica que pauta as relações sociais em
diferentes grupos e culturas.
3. O termo "diversidade de
gênero" parte da concepção de
que não existe apenas dois
gêneros, mas uma diversidade
de gêneros. Trata-se de uma
questão relacionada ao
existencialismo, pois parte do
princípio de que não há uma
essência que define o ser
humano, mas seu modo de
existir no mundo.
