The document presents the results of a study that evaluated the hematological, biochemical and genotoxic effects in farm workers exposed to pesticides in the municipalities of Barras and José de Freitas in Piauí state, Brazil. The study found increased DNA damage, alterations in liver enzymes and creatinine levels, and higher rates of leucopenia in exposed workers compared to a non-exposed control group. The results demonstrate the importance of biomonitoring workers exposed to pesticides to assess health impacts and support occupational health surveillance programs.
