2.  Albinism is the abscence of pigmentation
in the skin, eyes and hair in humans, as a
result of inherited genetic condition.
 It affects all races, also occurs in animals

carotenoids and melanin.
 It is hereditary, then appears with the

recessive gene.

3. How is produced the albinism?
 Melanocytes transform the amino acid
tyrosine to the substance called melanin.
Melanin is distributed throughout the
body, giving color and protection to the
skin, hair and iris of the eye.
 When the body is unable to produce or
distribute this substence occurs the
hypopigmentation, known as albinism.

4.  People with albinism can be limited in
their activities because they can’t tolerate
the sun.
 These people don’t live long time
because they suffer from lung illness and
