Discuta as questões abaixo com seu(sua) professor(a) e colegas.
Na última aula, conversamos sobre resenhas críticas e como elas
podem convencer o(a) leitor(a) a assistir ou não a um filme, série,
programa de TV, etc.
Vocês também puderam ler uma resenha crítica de uma série
chamada My Fat Mad Diary.

b. Que elementos essa resenha crítica apresentava para convencê-lo?

4. Foco no conteúdo
Na aula anterior, você entendeu um pouco mais sobre os objetivos
e as principais características do gênero textual resenha crítica.
Vamos relembrar alguns pontos:
• A resenha crítica é um texto proveniente do universo jornalístico,
que tem como principais características a apresentação e a
análise crítica de uma obra;
• Ela tem como finalidade persuadir o(a) leitor(a) a consumir ou
não aquele produto cultural e, para isso, faz uso de argumentos e
informações para defender seu ponto de vista.

5. Foco no conteúdo
• Sobre a estrutura, a resenha crítica, normalmente, é composta
por título, introdução, desenvolvimento e conclusão.
• O título na resenha pode retomar o nome da obra, antecipar a
análise principal do texto ou despertar curiosidade no(a)
leitor(a). Na primeira parte, a introdução, o(a) resenhista,
geralmente, apresenta um resumo da obra analisada.

6. Foco no conteúdo
• No desenvolvimento, o(a) autor(a) deve apresentar os
argumentos que correspondem à visão sobre aquele produto
cultural, podendo ser favorável ou não ao material produzido.
• Por fim, na conclusão, o(a) autor(a) pode fazer uma retomada
geral dos principais pontos. Outra possibilidade é finalizar o texto
com uma declaração de maior impacto recomendando ou não o
produto analisado.
Uma das principais características da resenha crítica está relacionada à opinião
que o(a) autor(a) expressa sobre uma série, filme, programa de tv, etc.
Essa opinião é ressaltada pelo uso de adjetivos e expressões como:
In my opinion...
I recommend...
In my point of view...

características de resenhas críticas é a opinião que o(a) autor(a)
expressa no texto.

reasons not to wait any longer…
First up, My Mad Fat Diary is honest-to-God hilarious. About 90% of the laughs in the
show stem from its protagonist Rae Earl, played by Scottish actress Sharon Rooney.
In the pilot, Rae, after four months in a psychiatric hospital, returns to school to be
reunited with her childhood best friend Chloe (Jodie Comer) and soon meets a new gang
of mates – guitar playing history boff Archie (Dan Cohen), party animal lad Chop (Jordan
Murphy), the incredibly sweet Izzy (Ciara Baxendale) and teen heart-throb Finn Nelson
(Nico Mirallegro).
However, cracks in Rae’s support groups soon begin to show, and you’ll soon find
yourself questioning whether Rae should really be friends with these people, and vice-
versa. Maintaining a friendship for years isn’t easy, especially when honesty is a difficult
policy to maintain.

Speaking of depth – it’s not just the characters’ moral compasses that have more
than expected in My Mad Fat Diary, it’s their emotions too. It’s refreshing to watch
a funny show where the characters don’t reset at the end of each episode. Having
binged my way through the episodes in recent weeks, I can’t think of any series –
comedy or otherwise – that takes such an emotional journey in such a short run.
In the show, Rae has mental health issues, and struggles with her body image. Her
biggest problem, as the show itself suggests, seems to be that she doesn’t like
herself. With the downs come the ups, as well, and My Mad Fat Diary does well to
show the integral importance of reaching out to people and searching for help
when it seems like the world is against you. So, to wrap things up – My Mad Fat
Diary creates educational, entertaining and emotional TV from its component
parts, presenting a lot of laughs alongside a heartfelt narrative and a brutally
honest study of mental health.
