• A data oficial da fundação dos Estados
Unidos é 4 de julho de 1776, quando o
Segundo Congresso Continental,
representando as 13 colônias
secessionistas, assinou a Declaração da
Independência. Contudo, a estrutura do
governo sofreu uma grande mudança em
1788, quando os Artigos da Confederação
foram substituídos pela Constituição dos
Estados Unidos.

The U.S. government established by the
Constitution, is a federal republic consisting of
individual states. The legislation is recorded in
Acts of Congress (particularly the United States
Code and the Uniform Code of Military Justice),
administrative regulations, and judicial decisions
that interpret the statutes and regulations. The
federal government has three branches: executive,
legislative and judicial. Through a system of
separation of powers, each branch has some
authority to act autonomously, or any authority to
regulate the other two branches, and has for its
ever of its authority regulated by the other two
branches.

O governo dos Estados Unidos, estabelecido pela
Constituição, é uma república federal composta por
estados individuais. A legislação é lavrada em Atos
do Congresso (particularmente o Código dos
Estados Unidos e o Código Uniforme de Justiça
Militar); regulamentação administrativas, e
acórdãos judiciais que interpretam os estatutos e
regulamentações. O governo federal tem três
ramos: executivo, legislativo e judicial. Através de

ramos tem alguma autoridade para agir de forma
autónoma, alguma autoridade para regulamentar ou
outros dois ramos, e tem por sua vez alguma da

norte-americanos.

americano os alunos, quase sempre, vão estudar em
universidades distantes de casa (outras cidades ou
estados).
• - Terremotos na costa oeste e furacões na costa
sudeste e sul são os perigos naturais mais comuns do
território norte-americano.
• - Os Estados Unidos da América são compostos por
50 estados.
• - Embora seja um dos países mais desenvolvidos do
mundo, do ponto de vista tecnológico, o sistema de
votação ainda utiliza as cédulas de papel para
registrar o voto dos eleitores.
