Eph.2:8,9
The Bible clearly teaches a
    balance between:

  •• Grace (God’s part) &
     Grace (God’s part) &
  •• Faith (our part)
     Faith (our part)
The Body of Christ is basically
        divided into 2 groups:

1. Those who emphasize Grace – what God does

They preach that everything is totally up to God

2.Those who emphasize Faith – what we do

They preach that there are many things that we must do
Both groups contend that the
   other group is totally wrong

Everything should come down to these questions:

      1. What part is GOD's responsibility?

         2. What part is MY responsibility?

          3. What must I do?
sodium and chloride
Chloride ion
Sodium
The balance of Grace & Faith is like
       sodium and chloride

      Both sodium and chloride
             are poisons

If you take either one of them by
 themselves in sufficient quantity, they’ll
 kill you

Yet if you mix sodium & chloride together,
you get salt, a mineral necessary to
  sustain life !
Need for Balance…

Grace Faith
Yet if you mix sodium & chloride together, you get
salt, a mineral necessary to sustain life !
Saved by what !?
“For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved
(delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation)
through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your
own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of
                                  God”
                             Eph.2:8 Ampl.

The Bible says that we are saved by Grace
              through Faith

We aren’t saved by one or the other
To be technically correct, there is a
parenthetical phrase in this passage in
the last part of Eph.2:5, which says:

“… by grace ye are saved”

I’m not arguing that it’s wrong to say that
we are saved by grace, but technically, it’s
not grace alone that saves us !

It’ s really important that we understand this point
God has done so much for us, by
His grace, but for us to receive
what He has done there must be
a positive response on our part,
which is what the Bible calls
             “faith”

There has to be a combination of both Grace & Faith
You aren’t saved by Grace alone

Grace is what God does for you. It’s His part. It is
something that was done for you before you
existed. Grace has nothing to do with you.

By defenition, Grace it is “unmerited, unearned,
   undeserved favour”.

If Grace is something that God does and if Grace
alone saved, then every person would be saved,
because Titus 2:11 revels that the Grace of God that
brings salvation appeared to all men.

God’s… GRACE
 God Grace is the same
towards every one of us!

God has exactly the same
Grace toward every person
     who ever lived
You may be wondering:

      • “Then why ‘so-and-so’ got healed and I didn’t?”
      • “Why did God touched them and not me?”
What is the PROBLEM ?
The problem is:

YOU think that when you see
something happen, that God
   has done something or
 provide something for that
   person, that He hasn’t
      provided for you
God, by Grace,
     has already brought
salvation to every person on
the face of this earth !!!
          Titus 2:11
This is not something that
      is commonly understood

Most people that it is their performance that earns them extra pull and
Most people that it is their performance that earns them extra pull and
favor to get the power of God operating in their life
favor to get the power of God operating in their life

   The truth is:
          - The moment you begin relating God’s
blessing – the manifestation of His power in your
life - to anything that you have done, then you miss
it – you have just voided grace!
The truth is:
•• The moment you begin relating God’s
The moment you begin relating God’s
blessing – the manifestation of
blessing – the manifestation of His
                                   His
power in your life -- to anything that you
power in your life to anything that you
have done...
 have done...

            a. Then, you miss it – you have just voided grace!

       b. Then you have made God’s blessing and
manifestation, in your life, proportional to something
       that you have done.

If you think that way, then you don’t understand the grace of God.
God, by Grace, already provided
everything for you ever needed it

•Salvation,
•Healing,
•Prosperity

                               Already provided in JESUS CHRIST

“And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for
our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.”
  I John 2:2
Jesus died for every sinner who
has ever lived on this earth. And
He died for our sins two
thousand years ago, long before
  we had ever committed them.

“And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning
sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins
of] the whole world.”
I John 2:2
We have Been
                      Forgiven
Our sins have been forgiven already, in
Jesus, and we are under the blood

We have to believe the Gospel – that Jesus has
already come, He’s alreadt died for us and
forgiven the sins of the world Sinai
                                                                       M - C - C

Well, then… if that is true, everybody is saved,
right?
        - NO !!! This is not the case, because
Grace alone doesn’t save you !!!
                         • God, by Jesus Christ, made provision
•God, in Jesus, paid for every person’s sin
Jesus explain WHY people go to hell
Because they don’t BELIEVE in Him !!!

“And when He comes, He will
convict and convince the world and bring
demonstration to it about sin and about
righteousness (uprightness of heart and right
standing with God) and about judgment:
About sin, because they do not believe in Me
[trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me]”
John 16:8,9 Ampl.
If you have made
Jesus your Lord and
 Savior, then all of
   your sins – past,
present and future –
 have already been
     forgiven !!!
The Why, for the coming of the
                Holy Spirit
7 However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good,
expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the
Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will
not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him
to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
8 And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring
demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and
right standing with God) and about judgment:
9 About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to
Me];
10 About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God),
because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer;
11 About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is
judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him.
                John 16 Ampl
Christ's departure was necessary to the Comforter's coming.
Sending the Spirit was to be the fruit of Christ's death, which
was his going away. His bodily presence could be only in one
place at one time, but his Spirit is every where, in all places,
at all times, wherever two or three are gathered together in
his name. See here the office of the Spirit, first to reprove, or
to convince. Convincing work is the Spirit's work; he can do
it effectually, and none but he. It is the method

           Matthew Henry's Concise
           Commentary on the Bible
the Holy Spirit takes, first to convince, and then to
comfort. The Spirit shall convince the world, of sin; not
merely tell them of it. The Spirit convinces of the fact of
sin; of the fault of sin; of the folly of sin; of the filth of
sin, that by it we are become hateful to God; of the
fountain of sin, the corrupt nature; and lastly, of the
fruit of sin, that the end thereof is death. The Holy
Spirit proves that all the world is guilty before God
He convinces the world of righteousness; that
Jesus of Nazareth was Christ the righteous. Also, of
Christ's righteousness, imparted to us for
justification and salvation. He will show them where
it is to be had, and how they may be accepted as
righteous in God's sight. Christ's ascension proves
the ransom was accepted, and the righteousness
finished, through which believers were to be
justified.
Black
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is
judged. All will be well, when his power is broken,
who made all the mischief. As Satan is
subdued by Christ, this gives us confidence, for no
other power can stand before him. And of the day
of judgment. The coming of the Spirit would be of
unspeakable advantage to the disciples.
• The Holy Spirit is our Guide, not only to show us the way, but
to go with us by continued aids and influences. To be led into a
truth is more than barely to know it; it is not only to have the
notion of it in our heads, but the relish, and savour, and power
of it in our hearts. He shall teach all truth, and keep back
nothing profitable, for he will show things to come. All the gifts
and graces of the Spirit, all the preaching, and all the writing of
the apostles, under the influence of the Spirit, all the tongues,
and miracles, were to glorify Christ. It behoves every one to
ask, whether the Holy Spirit has begun a good work in his
heart? Without clear discovery of our guilt and danger, we
never shall understand the value of Christ's salvation; but
when brought to know ourselves aright, we begin to see the
value of the Redeemer. We should have fuller views of the
Redeemer, and more lively affections to him, if we more prayed
for, and depended on the Holy Spirit. (Jn 16:16-22)
The grace of God is
    extended exactly the
        same towards
    everybody – not only
     to you, but to every
    person on the face of
     the earth.

Adolf Hitler had as much grace
extended towards him as you
           and I have.

Jesus loved every person that had done terrible things
in the history of the world – He died for them and paid
the price for their sins exactly the same as He did for all
the people who had received Him, love Him, and seek
 Him

The Grace of God is identical toward us all !!!
The Grace of God is Consistent

• He is the same towards everybody.
God is no respecter of persons.
  Rom.2:11
• He doesn’t love one person more than
  He loves another.
• He hasn’t provide more for one person
than He has provided for another.
By His Grace God has forgiven the sins of Humanity

Grace is what God does for us independent of us.

•Prior to your existence, before you even
had a need, God had already created
the supply.
•Before you ever get discoureged, God
has already blessed you with all spiritual
blessings.
•He’s already abunded towards you in
love.
•He’s already provided, in Jesus,
everything, before you had the problem.

         That’s awesome !!!
James 1:14

“Every good and perfect gift comes from
 the Father of lights…”
God by His grace, has already done everything
he anticipated every need that you could ever have,
and He already met all of those needs through Jesus
                       Christ.
Through Jesus, God intervened in the affairs of men.
He’s provided everything, and that happened 2.000
                     years ago.

Jesus hasn’t died for a single person’s sin since.
He took our sins 2.000 years ago !
Jesus hasn’t healed a single person since. He took our
stripes on his body 2.000 years ago !
Salvation, healing,Black
                   deliverance and prosperity
have already been provided.
When people hear this truth and believe, all
of a sudden what God has already provided
by grace becomes a reality to them.
As they mix faith with the Word ofGod, what
He jas qlready done in and by Jesus Christ,
begins to manifest in their life
You are saved by grace trough faith,
not by one or the other exclusively.
  Understanding this foundational
truth will make a huge difference in
             your life !!!
The Balance of

  Grace Faith

Is like sodium and chloride
Despite all that God has
 provided in Jesus, we
have a parte to play in
       receiving
Faith
True Bible faith is simply your positive
response of what God has already
    provided through Jesus Christ
Faith only appropriates what
    God has already provided

Faith is the way you receive what God
  has already provided through grace
Black
Faith reaches out and appropriates what
God has alreadyprovided for us in and by
 Jesus

We don’t have to ask, plead and beg to God
He has already supplied what we need

Is just a matter of us believing and receiving
Asking is not wrong. But it all
     depends on your attitude !

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything
according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever
we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. I Joh 5:14,15
• Just believe and receive command
and release the power of God

• The harmony between this is the
  attitude in which you ask
Powerful truth

Instead of approaching God as a
beggar, I need to be a believar
 who trusts His promisses, and
  confidently and gratefully just
   take advantage of what He’s
    already provided for us !!!
You have to believe God in order
to see His promises come to
        pass in your life
Black

    Faith or Grace –
 independent of each
   other, not mixed
together propely – will

Grace & faith a delicate balance

  • 2. The Bible clearly teaches a balance between: •• Grace (God’s part) & Grace (God’s part) & •• Faith (our part) Faith (our part)
  • 3. The Body of Christ is basically divided into 2 groups: 1. Those who emphasize Grace – what God does They preach that everything is totally up to God 2.Those who emphasize Faith – what we do They preach that there are many things that we must do
  • 4. Both groups contend that the other group is totally wrong Everything should come down to these questions: 1. What part is GOD's responsibility? 2. What part is MY responsibility? 3. What must I do?
  • 8. The balance of Grace & Faith is like sodium and chloride Both sodium and chloride are poisons If you take either one of them by themselves in sufficient quantity, they’ll kill you Yet if you mix sodium & chloride together, you get salt, a mineral necessary to sustain life !
  • 10. Yet if you mix sodium & chloride together, you get salt, a mineral necessary to sustain life !
  • 12. “For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God” Eph.2:8 Ampl. The Bible says that we are saved by Grace through Faith We aren’t saved by one or the other
  • 13. To be technically correct, there is a parenthetical phrase in this passage in the last part of Eph.2:5, which says: “… by grace ye are saved” I’m not arguing that it’s wrong to say that we are saved by grace, but technically, it’s not grace alone that saves us ! It’ s really important that we understand this point
  • 14. God has done so much for us, by His grace, but for us to receive what He has done there must be a positive response on our part, which is what the Bible calls “faith” There has to be a combination of both Grace & Faith
  • 15. You aren’t saved by Grace alone Grace is what God does for you. It’s His part. It is something that was done for you before you existed. Grace has nothing to do with you. By defenition, Grace it is “unmerited, unearned, undeserved favour”. If Grace is something that God does and if Grace alone saved, then every person would be saved, because Titus 2:11 revels that the Grace of God that brings salvation appeared to all men.
  • 16.
  • 18. Need for Balance… Fa ith Grace
  • 19. Need for Balance… Gra ce Fai th
  • 21. God’s… GRACE God Grace is the same towards every one of us! God has exactly the same Grace toward every person who ever lived
  • 22. You may be wondering: • “Then why ‘so-and-so’ got healed and I didn’t?” • “Why did God touched them and not me?”
  • 23. What is the PROBLEM ? The problem is: YOU think that when you see something happen, that God has done something or provide something for that person, that He hasn’t provided for you
  • 24. God, by Grace, has already brought salvation to every person on the face of this earth !!! Titus 2:11
  • 25. This is not something that is commonly understood Most people that it is their performance that earns them extra pull and Most people that it is their performance that earns them extra pull and favor to get the power of God operating in their life favor to get the power of God operating in their life The truth is: - The moment you begin relating God’s blessing – the manifestation of His power in your life - to anything that you have done, then you miss it – you have just voided grace!
  • 26. The truth is: •• The moment you begin relating God’s The moment you begin relating God’s blessing – the manifestation of blessing – the manifestation of His His power in your life -- to anything that you power in your life to anything that you have done... have done... a. Then, you miss it – you have just voided grace! b. Then you have made God’s blessing and manifestation, in your life, proportional to something that you have done. If you think that way, then you don’t understand the grace of God.
  • 27. God, by Grace, already provided everything for you ever needed it •Salvation, •Healing, •Prosperity Already provided in JESUS CHRIST “And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.” I John 2:2
  • 28. Jesus died for every sinner who has ever lived on this earth. And He died for our sins two thousand years ago, long before we had ever committed them. “And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.” I John 2:2
  • 29. We have Been Forgiven Our sins have been forgiven already, in Jesus, and we are under the blood We have to believe the Gospel – that Jesus has already come, He’s alreadt died for us and forgiven the sins of the world Sinai M - C - C Well, then… if that is true, everybody is saved, right? - NO !!! This is not the case, because Grace alone doesn’t save you !!! • God, by Jesus Christ, made provision •God, in Jesus, paid for every person’s sin
  • 30. Jesus explain WHY people go to hell Because they don’t BELIEVE in Him !!! “And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment: About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me]” John 16:8,9 Ampl.
  • 31. If you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior, then all of your sins – past, present and future – have already been forgiven !!!
  • 32. The Why, for the coming of the Holy Spirit 7 However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. 8 And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment: 9 About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me]; 10 About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God), because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer; 11 About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him. John 16 Ampl
  • 33. Christ's departure was necessary to the Comforter's coming. Sending the Spirit was to be the fruit of Christ's death, which was his going away. His bodily presence could be only in one place at one time, but his Spirit is every where, in all places, at all times, wherever two or three are gathered together in his name. See here the office of the Spirit, first to reprove, or to convince. Convincing work is the Spirit's work; he can do it effectually, and none but he. It is the method Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Bible
  • 34. the Holy Spirit takes, first to convince, and then to comfort. The Spirit shall convince the world, of sin; not merely tell them of it. The Spirit convinces of the fact of sin; of the fault of sin; of the folly of sin; of the filth of sin, that by it we are become hateful to God; of the fountain of sin, the corrupt nature; and lastly, of the fruit of sin, that the end thereof is death. The Holy Spirit proves that all the world is guilty before God
  • 35. He convinces the world of righteousness; that Jesus of Nazareth was Christ the righteous. Also, of Christ's righteousness, imparted to us for justification and salvation. He will show them where it is to be had, and how they may be accepted as righteous in God's sight. Christ's ascension proves the ransom was accepted, and the righteousness finished, through which believers were to be justified.
  • 36. Black Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. All will be well, when his power is broken, who made all the mischief. As Satan is subdued by Christ, this gives us confidence, for no other power can stand before him. And of the day of judgment. The coming of the Spirit would be of unspeakable advantage to the disciples.
  • 37. • The Holy Spirit is our Guide, not only to show us the way, but to go with us by continued aids and influences. To be led into a truth is more than barely to know it; it is not only to have the notion of it in our heads, but the relish, and savour, and power of it in our hearts. He shall teach all truth, and keep back nothing profitable, for he will show things to come. All the gifts and graces of the Spirit, all the preaching, and all the writing of the apostles, under the influence of the Spirit, all the tongues, and miracles, were to glorify Christ. It behoves every one to ask, whether the Holy Spirit has begun a good work in his heart? Without clear discovery of our guilt and danger, we never shall understand the value of Christ's salvation; but when brought to know ourselves aright, we begin to see the value of the Redeemer. We should have fuller views of the Redeemer, and more lively affections to him, if we more prayed for, and depended on the Holy Spirit. (Jn 16:16-22)
  • 38. The grace of God is extended exactly the same towards everybody – not only to you, but to every person on the face of the earth. Adolf Hitler had as much grace extended towards him as you and I have.
  • 39. Black Jesus loved every person that had done terrible things in the history of the world – He died for them and paid the price for their sins exactly the same as He did for all the people who had received Him, love Him, and seek Him The Grace of God is identical toward us all !!!
  • 40. The Grace of God is Consistent • He is the same towards everybody. God is no respecter of persons. Rom.2:11 • He doesn’t love one person more than He loves another. • He hasn’t provide more for one person than He has provided for another.
  • 41.
  • 42. By His Grace God has forgiven the sins of Humanity Grace is what God does for us independent of us. Doe s that me an that e ve rybody is s ave d? No! Be c aus e not e ve rybody has put faith in what God has done through Je s us
  • 43. Black •Prior to your existence, before you even had a need, God had already created the supply. •Before you ever get discoureged, God has already blessed you with all spiritual blessings. •He’s already abunded towards you in love. •He’s already provided, in Jesus, everything, before you had the problem. That’s awesome !!!
  • 44. James 1:14 “Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights…”
  • 45. God by His grace, has already done everything he anticipated every need that you could ever have, and He already met all of those needs through Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, God intervened in the affairs of men. He’s provided everything, and that happened 2.000 years ago. Jesus hasn’t died for a single person’s sin since. He took our sins 2.000 years ago ! Jesus hasn’t healed a single person since. He took our stripes on his body 2.000 years ago !
  • 46. Salvation, healing,Black deliverance and prosperity have already been provided. When people hear this truth and believe, all of a sudden what God has already provided by grace becomes a reality to them. As they mix faith with the Word ofGod, what He jas qlready done in and by Jesus Christ, begins to manifest in their life
  • 47. You are saved by grace trough faith, not by one or the other exclusively. Understanding this foundational truth will make a huge difference in your life !!!
  • 48. The Balance of Grace Faith Is like sodium and chloride
  • 49. Despite all that God has provided in Jesus, we have a parte to play in receiving
  • 50. Faith
  • 51. True Bible faith is simply your positive response of what God has already provided through Jesus Christ
  • 52. Faith only appropriates what God has already provided Faith is the way you receive what God has already provided through grace
  • 53. Black Faith reaches out and appropriates what God has alreadyprovided for us in and by Jesus We don’t have to ask, plead and beg to God He has already supplied what we need Is just a matter of us believing and receiving
  • 54. Asking is not wrong. But it all depends on your attitude ! This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. I Joh 5:14,15
  • 55. • Just believe and receive command and release the power of God • The harmony between this is the attitude in which you ask
  • 56. Powerful truth Instead of approaching God as a beggar, I need to be a believar who trusts His promisses, and confidently and gratefully just take advantage of what He’s already provided for us !!!
  • 57. You have to believe God in order to see His promises come to pass in your life
  • 58.
  • 59. Black Faith or Grace – independent of each other, not mixed together propely – will
