Office Web Apps on Windows Live SkyDrive is a free online companion to Office 2010. Your customers can view, create, and edit documents anywhere there is an Internet connection – on PC or Web browser. Office Mobile 2010 is available as part of the Windows Phone Mobile operating system, allows customers to quickly review and edit documents, presentations and spreadsheets on the go! (Note Office Mobile 2010 is not available as part of Office 2010, but as part of Windows Phone only)
  6. SLIDE 12 – How to sell Office 2010 (title slide) Now let’s move into the next section on how to sell Office 2010. There are three steps that will help you sell Office 2010, and we’ll learn them here along with gaining valuable information on the difference in suites and purchase methods of Office 2010.
  7. SLIDE 15 – Step 2, Home & Student 2010 For your customers that say they want to use Office for home and homework tasks, recommend Home and Student. This suite provides the basic solution for customers that will not be using Office for any business (including home-based business and small business), government, or nonprofit activities.  Here’s what Home and Student will look like in the Traditional Disc and Product Key Card packages.  You’ll notice that Home and Student 2010 includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote. The biggest selling points for Home and Student are full featured Word and Excel , PowerPoint, and OneNote.  PowerPoint is a key selling point for customers that are students or that have students at home. Classrooms and teachers use PowerPoint for most of their presentations.  OneNote is new to many of your customers and is being highlighted by Office 2010 beta users as a critical application for note taking in class, research and projects, and home organization.
  8. SLIDE 16 – Step 2, Home & Business 2010 For customers that run a business from home, work on their PC, or simply need tools to manage e-mail and calendars, recommend Home & Business 2010.  Note what the product packaging looks like.  The key differentiator here is the addition of Outlook 2010. Most small business and almost half of home consumers use Outlook. This is a big motivation for mentioning Outlook while asking your customers what they would like to use Office for. For example, you can take control of email conversations with Outlook Conversation View; and use Outlook Quick Steps to create and save custom multi-steps tasks. Also new, is Outlook Social Connector; stay connected to your social and business networks, including popular third party sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
  9. SLIDE 17 – Step 2, Professional 2010 Professional includes all seven applications and includes one year of free technical support. Recommend this suite for your customers that want to best Office 2010 experience, including the ability to create professional-quality publications and manage databases.  The key differentiator here is the addition of Publisher and Access.  Be sure to reinforce the message of 1-year free technical support. The other suites only include 90 days of customers support.
  10. SLIDE 14 – Step 2, HELP YOUR CUSTOMERS CHOOSE THE RIGHT OFFICE SUITE Here’s an overview of the new suite lineup in Office 2010 and what applications are included in each suite. You’ll see that there are now seven applications available in Office 2010, and that they aren’t necessarily included in the same suite as previous versions.  It’s also easy to see here how this simplified lineup makes it easy to understand the differences in each suite, and how each more expensive suite includes new applications as well as retains the applications from the suite below. Notice how each version builds on the previous version, Home and Business, add Microsoft Outlook 2010, without losing any of the functionality of Home and Student; and Professional adds Publisher 2010 and Access 2010, in addition to 1 full year of technical support; while the other suites only offer 90 days.  You’ll notice that the title of this step is: Help your customer choose the right suite. The way to do this is to ask them questions to understand what tasks a customer uses Office for. For example, ask them, “What tasks do you currently use Office for?” and, “What would you like to do with Office that you can’t already do?”
  11. SLIDE 18 – Step 3, Help your customer choose the right purchase method; Traditional disc vs. Product Key Card  There are two main purchase paths for Office 2010 if the customer is buying a PC:the Traditional Disc and the Product Key Card. For customers upgrading their existing PC or purchasing Office for the first time, the Traditional Disc is the purchase option.  The Traditional Disc is the purchase method that most of your customers are already familiar with. They buy a packaged product, and inside they’ll find a DVD, a quick start guide and product key to install and activateOffice 2010. The Product Key Card is simply a packagethat includes a Product Key that is designed to activate Office 2010 on a single PC that is already preloaded with Office 2010. All the customer needs to do is enter their product key and they’ll have access to the Office 2010 suitethey purchased.  Take a look at some of these differences side-by-side.  The Traditional disc offers two different types of product licenses that are a bit more flexible than the Product Key Card. For example, buying 1 copy of Home and Student 2010 will give them 3 user licenses that they can install on up to 3 PCs in one household. Also, the Traditional Disc allows Home and Business and Professional users the ability to load Office 2010 on both their home PC and mobile PC. Also, the Traditional Disc does not require that the PC be preloaded with Office 2010, which makes it the obvious choice for older PCs.  The Product Key Card is a new, lower priced option for purchasing Office 2010 with a new PC. The user license is for 1 user on 1 PC, regardless of the suite. The Product Key Card is designed for PCs preloaded with Office 2010. There’s no DVD included. Both options can be used on a PC preloaded with Office 2010. Simply enter the 25-character key found in the packaging and they’ll be ready to go.
  12. SLIDE 42 – Office Web Apps (Title Slide) In this next section we’ll be talking about Office Web Apps, a new set of online programs accessed through Windows Live SkyDrive that allow your customers to create, edit, and share Office documents from virtually anywhere with an Internet connection.Access and edit documents from virtually anywhere. Whether you’re editing a document from home or collaborating with someone around the world, Office Web Apps help you work the way you want.

For customers who purchase the client version of Microsoft Office, the Office Web Apps (for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) accessed through Windows Live SkyDrive that allow your customers to access, edit, and share Office documents online from virtually anywhere with an Internet connection. The Office Web Apps also allow customers to create additional documents when they’re away from their PC.

  16.
