A saga das garrafas azuis
- Durante os anos 90, época em que o governo Collor abriu as
importações para o Brasil,
- O país viveu um fenômeno que, segundo muitos especialistas,
mudou radicalmente o mercado nacional de vinhos.
- O Liebfraumilch, vinho branco de qualidade duvidosa fabricado na
Alemanha, causou uma revolução de proporções inimagináveis no
país.
Foi a partir da entrada desses vinhos no mercado que muitas
pessoas tiveram contato com a bebida pela primeira vez. Era um
vinho barato e que tinha um certo charme, pois se destacava nas
prateleiras por se diferenciar do restante das garrafas. É
interessante lembrar que a idéia de engarrafar o Liebfraumilch em
recipientes azuis foi uma jogada do importador de bebidas Otávio
Piva, proprietário da Expand, que convenceu o fabricante do vinho a
produzir garrafas naquela cor para enviar ao Brasil.
De julho de 1997 a julho de 1998 o Liebfraumilch fabricado por
Josef Friederich era o vinho importado mais vendido no Brasil.
Nesse período, segundo os importadores, foram comercializadas
