Welcome to the 2nd instalment of adi Mail for 2015. We
are already over half-way through an extremely busy
and memorable year for the Group celebrating our 25th
anniversary.
An enjoyable time was had by all at our 25th Anniversary
Conference and Celebrations on the 12th June at the National
Motorcycle Museum. Photos and highlights from the day can
be found on pages 10-13 in our 25th Anniversary special feature.
As unveiled on the day, we have lots of exiting things in the
pipeline for the Group including our new range of work wear
being launched across the Group very, very soon, our new adi
Group sales and corporate social responsibility brochures
which are now available at head office and, of course a
brand new website coming to a browser near you in the not
so distant future.
We have also been busy fundraising for our chosen charity of
the year with our great office cake bake, bacon sarnie morning
(hosted by adi’s Banbury team) and more recently adi’s charity
football tournament. We are already well on the way to achieving
our £5,000 target for the year with over £3,700 raised to date.
There are still lots of events in the pipeline this year, so keep an
eye out to learn how you can get involved – every little helps!
Have a look at our fantastic fundraising highlights and photos so
far on page 15.

3. “Our purpose is to grow a
profitable group that adds
value to our customer’s
business, maintains a safe
ethical working environment
and is an organisation that
people aspire to work for.”
We are already over half-way into the year and a lot
has happened over the last few months with many new
developments in progress through our focus on continuous
improvement across the Group.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you all
for attending and making our 25th Anniversary Conference &
Celebrations such a memorable day. The event was an incredible
success and it was great to have employees from across the UK
and Ireland together to celebrate this important milestone in adi
history, none of which would have been possible without your
continued hard work and dedication to the Group.
We continue to develop our Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) and Sustainability programme within the business and have
since achieved Ecovadis accreditation. Ecovadis is a sustainability
rating platform for global supply chains and adi was awarded
the Gold level of recognition. In addition to Ecovadis, adi
Automotive also achieved Achilles Accreditation achieving the
highest possible score. The Achilles accreditation ensures that we
are fully-compliant to the highest possible industry standards in
reference to ethics, the environment, quality, and health & safety.
In the coming quarter century, the role of multi-disciplined
engineering will become even more important in driving growth,
innovation, and productivity in industries such as food and
beverage, automotive and aerospace. Looking ahead, the Group
is perfectly positioned to continue to unlock growth across these
sectors. As a Group, our aspirations are to continue to grow
by offering further engineering services. Our 25 year history
has been to self-invest in a new division or service every 18-24
months, and we look forward to continuing this strategy during
our next 25 years.
It is a privilege to lead adi over the last 25 years and see it grow
from strength to strength with our ever diversifying portfolio
of engineering services. We have grown and developed with
the philosophy of outstanding customer service and constantly
striving to be the best partner to our customers. As a business
our passion and commitment stems from the dedication of our
employees. Together we are engineering a better future for our
customers, our staff, the environment and the local community.
Here’s to the next 25 years…

6. adi Smart Metering Services had a very successful
day exhibiting at the ESTA aM&T Conference at
the Ricoh Arena in Coventry complete with their
very own SMS branded Blackpool Rock – which
proved to be a big hit with delegates at the show
(and adi employees.) The team has generated
a number of new leads and potential business
opportunities off the back of the event and look
forward to exhibiting at future events.
For the third year running, adi Group exhibited at the Made In The
Midlands Expo held at G2G Training Centre in Wolverhampton. The event
was attended by some 1,500 visitors from within the engineering and
manufacturing industries with over 125 exhibitors.
As proud supporters of Made
In The Midlands, which carries
out valuable work in helping to
raise awareness of the region’s
manufacturing prestige, events
like this are essential in bringing
together experts from across the
supply chain to discuss industry
issues, rekindle old relationships
and forge new ones. We look
forward to attending the next
MIM Expo in 2016.
Back in March, adi Building & Refurbishment
together with Homeserve UK and additional
volunteers completed a three week community
project to refurbish Walsall Football Club’s
Community Room.
The room is widely used by thousands of
young people in the local community and plays
hosts to numerous activities such as match day
visits, soccer schools events, and school visits.
Extensive work was carried out to ensure that the
facilities were updated and given a new lease of
life so that youngsters and schools in the local
community can continue to enjoy and benefit
from the facility.

adi Visit’s Number 11 Downing Street
We were delighted to be invited along to the Manufacturing Reception at
Number 11 Downing Street with First Secretary of State and Chancellor of
the Exchequer, George Osborne. The event was to thank British businesses
for their input in the Manufacturing industry and delegates had the
opportunity to speak directly with George Osborne about the challenges
that businesses face in the manufacturing industry in the UK and EU.
adi CEO, Alan Lusty comments;
“We are extremely proud that adi Group was invited to be part of
this event and that we have been recognised as a business for our
contributions to the industry. This is down to the effort, commitment
and hard work of every single employee here at adi!”

7. BITC West Midlands Gala - A Night To Remember Safety First - adi Automotive
Receives Recognition From
Beck & Pollitzer
adi group were proud to be one of the lead sponsors at Business In The
Community’s West Midlands Gala event. The annual event recognises and
celebrates local businesses that are transforming communities and business
practices to create a fairer and more sustainable future.
The evening itself was very inspiring learning about how local businesses have
made a difference across the region through CSR activity. Alan also had the
honour of presenting the awards for the West Midlands Collaborative Action
Accolade category which adi Group sponsored.
Next year we hope to bring home a Responsible Business Award of our very
own. Watch this space!
As reported in the last edition of adi Mail,
adi Automotive employees scored a hat trick
of recognition for their pro-active attitude
towards health and safety at one of our
larger client sites. The team has continued to
put health and safety first on site with Sam
Abbott not only receiving a Health & Safety
recognition award, but also vouchers for a JLR
driving experience for going the extra mile
in keeping the site safe. Well done Sam and
keep up the good work!
adi Automotive
Achieve Achilles
Accreditation
One of our key clients requested that adi
Automotive complete a supplier assessment
through Achilles, who manage a global
network of collaborative industry communities,
allowing trading partners to share high quality,
structured, real-time data. adi Automotive
Services gained a score of 4/5, the highest
achievable on this assessment, with no non-
conformances raised.
Around 800 of world’s leading buying
organisations and 90,000 key suppliers are
currently members of the Achilles’ network.
Achilles work with some of the world’s best
known companies including Shell, National
Grid, Aston Martin & Jaguar Landrover.
Comet System
A Winning Formula
adi Healy Compressor Services have
been working in close collaboration with
adi Telecom to develop a state of the art
paperless service CRM system. Launched
back in March the comet system has enabled
us to improve the efficiency of the services
we offer to our clients.
The new system gives us the facility to
complete paperless dynamic risk assessments,
full rams, expandable job sheets, attach photo
evidence, electronic client signatures and
direct emailing - all before we leave site.
Feedback received from our customers to date
has been overwhelmingly positive and we
believe that the Comet system has put us at
the forefront of service technology.

The Group were required to take part in one of our clients CSR Evaluation
programmes called Ecovadis. The Ecovadis programme provides a
sustainability rating platform for global supply chains. Around 100
multinational companies in North America and in Europe have selected the
EcoVadis solution to assess and monitor their global supplier bases including
Akzo Nobel, Alstom, Heineken, Nestle, Coca-Cola Enterprises.
adi Group were awarded a gold recognition level. This excellent result includes
adi Group amongst the top 5% of companies evaluated by EcoVadis. To achieve
gold recognition level at the first attempt is a superb achievement.
Well done to everyone involved in achieving this accreditation.
8. adi Ireland’s Trip to the UK
Over 40 staff from Ireland were up around
4am on Friday 12th June travelling to Dublin
and Belfast airports to catch flights to
Birmingham to attend the 25 year adi Group
celebration day. A great time was had by all
during the day (and night).
The only small mishap from the day occurred
when Greg Ziembicki dislocated his shoulder
that afternoon at the adi fair. Greg fell all
of 2 feet off a space hopper to the ground
and somehow managed to pop his shoulder
out… happily after a quick trip to the hospital
he was back with the group that night!
Get well soon Greg!

Update
Sales Team Update
Andrew Dunne updates us on the
latest happenings across the sea at
adi Ireland HQ.
It has been another busy couple of
months for Andy and the team with
many new projects on the horizon with
the likes of Alkermes, Alexion, Pownall
& Hampson, Graingers, Sawmills and
Eco-lab. On a Contractor Management
System (CMS) front, the team are
expecting to secure a number of new
opportunities with new clients in the
coming months with a number of
existing clients looking for 2nd licences
for other facilities.
adi Ireland were also shortlisted in the
Facilities Management Awards in two
categories; ‘Innovation in Facilities
Management Services’ and ‘Health
& Safety’ hosted in June. Launched
last year, the Facilities Management
Awards celebrate achievement and
advancement in the field of facilities
management across the private, state
and semi-state sectors.
Andrew comments: “We are very
proud to be shortlisted in not one,
but two, categories for the prestigious
Facilities Management Awards. The
adi Ireland team always endeavours to
provide world class service, and it is
fantastic to have that recognised.”
The adi Ireland team always
endeavours to provide world
class service, and it is fantastic
to have that recognised.
As we reach mid-way through 2015,
the adi Group sales team continues
to grow in numbers, competencies,
knowledge and success.
In recent months we have added
two additional team members,
Laura Halliday as TEGG Business
Development in the South West
and Jason Johnson as Automation
Business Development Manager.
Laura has a background in service
sales and facilities management, so
is ideally suited to the role of TEGG
Business Development, whilst the
knowledge of automation systems
Jason brings from to adi, adds
significant depth to our Automation
sales capability.
Our newest team members, join
the current group sales team that
represents a number of our divisions
including adi Healy Compressors,
adi Facilities Management, adi
Environmental and adi TEGG Service.
To date this year, the team have completed
in excess of 600 visits to both new and
existing clients, operating in various
industries from food and beverage,
automotive, defence, aerospace, recycling,
construction, printing, chemical and
petrochemical, to name a few. These client
interactions continue to grow the adi Group
brand and ensure we maximise our group
selling opportunities.
2015 will see a continued investment in
client knowledge, application experience
and opportunity sharing across the
entire team, driven by our CRM system,
quarterly group sales team meetings and
regular internal team contact, to ensure
every customer interaction, generates the
maximum return for both adi and the client.

10. “The last 25 years have been a real
journey, and being able to celebrate
the group’s success with a team 450
strong is incredible. I can think of no
better way to mark our 25th year than
celebrating our employees’ talents
and energy in helping us reach such a
successful milestone.”

A quarter of a century and counting!
adi Celebrates 25 years of business
We’ve come a long way in 25 years – a very long way.
From our inception with just one division (adi Electrical)
supplying installation and testing services for industry,
before expanding into multiple disciplines such as
automation, welding and fabrication leading to the
formation of Systems adi Group in 1995. The rest as
they say, is history…
10
12. Earlier this summer, adi employees from across the UK and Ireland came together to celebrate
the biggest milestone in Group history, our 25th company anniversary conference at the
National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull. Here are some of the highlights…
The day kicked off with numerous videos and pyro-technics showcasing the Group’s biggest
milestones throughout the years, our vision for the next five years, and the unveiling of our new
Group Brochures, new staff work wear and a preview of the upcoming adi website relaunch.
Two of Alan’s long term mentors, Ron Plant, Barrie Barrett and adi’s first ever employee
Andy Rowberry also received recognition and awards for their support and guidance in the
development of the Group over the years shaping the company as it stands today.
One of the biggest highlights of the day was the surprise Village Fete with a selection of
traditional stalls, from test your strength and wheel of fortune to a coconut shy and a percussion
tent. There was plenty of friendly rivalry across adi’s 11 sites with some of our more competitive
employees battling it out on the racing cars and bug bikes and of course the human table
football! The celebrations continued long into the evening with a gala dinner and entertainment
at the conference centre as well as some extra celebrations on Broad Street.
Here’s to the next 25 years!

months and these are the results – a new

and sales teams and, the first ever adi
annual Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) & Sustainability report. Copies of the
new brochures are now available at adi
Head Office. Should you require a copy
of either brochure (in physical or digital
format) please contact
Claire Frays (cfrays@adiltd.co.uk).
As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations

Where’s Aldo?
Aldo’s adventures have continued
since our March newsletter edition
- including a spontaneous trip
to Frome after the 12th June
Conference with the adi Specialist
Welding Solutions team who
showed him the welding tricks of
the trade.
Aldo has also been jet-setting
around the UK and beyond with
trips to Belgium to support Patrick
Sherrington at Spa Francochamps
and a week with the adi SMS team
in Blackpool. Jaunts to Ireland and
rides in hot balloons are in the
pipeline – who knows where Aldo
will turn up next!?
We’re hoping to get Aldo out and
about to some of our regional
sites before the year is out so, if
you’d like to take Aldo out and
about with you please contact

The Sports 2000 Duratec Series is well under-way and
it has been a great start to the 2015 championship
season with races at Silverstone, Thruxton and
Donington Park plus Enduro rounds at Brands Hatch
GP, Thruxton and Spa Francorchamps.
Patrick began the year well with pole position at
Silverstone but engine trouble saw him finish the race
down in the 7th position. This was followed by 3rd on
the grid for Thruxton again with engine trouble but after
a superb race Patrick was able to snatch the lead in the
final laps and take the first win of the year. More recently
a trip to Donington Park saw a pole position converted
to a win and a second place after a massive battle with
fellow MCR Race Car driver Michael Gibbins.
Overall after the first 4 rounds Patrick is currently
leading the 2015 Sports 2000 Duratec Championship
and is looking forward to the double header in August
at Oulton Park.
Patrick says;
“Thanks to all the team at adi for the support so far
this year and we are doing all we can to retain the
title in 2015!”
