WISH + PAST SIMPLE
Use
We use wish + past simple to regret present situations (that we’d like to be
different).
Ex.: I wish I had talent for invention. (Eu queria/ gostaria de ter talento)
I wish I wasn’t such a bad cook. (Sou um cozinheiro ruim,
gostaria que fosse diferente).
We can use “were” instead of “was” after “wish”.
Ex.: I wish I were taller.
SO/ SUCH
So + adjective/ adverb
We use “so” with adjectives or adverbs.
I’m so happy.
I play so badly.
Such + (adj) noun
We use “such” to make reference about
nouns, normally we put an article after
“such”.
I’m such a bad cook.
I’m such a good student.
