Two simple approaches Awareness-raisingactivities Appropiation activities
Awareness-raising Activitiesaimed at helpinglearnersdiscover and evenfillingtheirknowledge gaps. Awarenessinvolves at leastthreeprocesses: attention, noticing and understanding.
Appropiation Overthe time and through social interaction, theskill, whichisfirst “other-regulated”, becomes “self-regulated”.
The beauty of pair-work “Pairworkimmediatelyincreasestheamount of studenttalking time" (Harmer 1998), itprovidesthestudentswiththeopportunitytocommunicatewitheachotherto share "suggestions, hypothesis, insights, feedback, successes, and failures" (Nielson, 1989).
