This will show you about my benefits, problems as well as opinion through my pre-internship hours with Exotissimo Travel (Thailand) Ltd. This edit is for my second week.

Activities and Work assignments
Work Training
 A tour operator senior supervisor trained all new internship students who
worked for inbound operation, reservation, travel agency and products
departments about Tourplan Program which is the program that is used to
reserve all services of the company such as tour package, accommodation,
transportation, transfer in-out services and any related-tourism services.
Assignments
 A supervisor assigned me to summarize the reservations from the travel agents
as usual. Then, I had to print the summary out and submitted to my supervisor.
 A supervisor assigned me to create the new bookings from Trailfinders which
is British travel agents.

2.  A supervisor assigned me to check about the correction of transfer,
accommodation and activities rates of package tour referring from the tour &
transfer and hotels tariffs 2012 and 2013.
Benefits or Experiences
I got to know so many experiences for the Tourplan program training such as
 The Inbound Reservation Flowchart and the chart gave me the ideas of how the
inbound operation and reservation department work. I knew all the processes of
how to run the reservation of tour package and any tourism related-services.
 I learnt about the rates of each company’s service from the Inbound Tariff.
 I learnt about how the company contacts the suppliers and how many services are
provided to the customers by the company from Inbound Facilities.
 I learnt about how to create a new booking in order to book the company’s
services from Fast Book which is the manual for Tourplan Program.
 I learnt about how to create the PCM which is the booking program that I could
use when I normally use the same itinerary to provide for my clients, I am
requested to quote the group rate vary and when I think that there will be
something change in my booking so that I can return to my booking and change
whatever I want to.
 I could improve my summarized skills because when I had to summarize the
reservation then I needed to know the initial and the easy words to make another
person understand my word easily, quickly and accurately. I surely think that I can
improve my skills every day because reservation summarizing is my basic job.
 I got to know about how to check the prices or rates from the tariff of each year
and I needed to check carefully in order to get the accurate package tours. It’s a
good kind of job to practice my concentration skills and I always have
consciousness when I am working for this job.

3. Problems or Obstacles to the work
When I was training, I was a little bit confused because it was my first time to learn
about this program and it was complicated sometimes. So, I need to practice more
about this program and try to get familiar with the program as soon as possible and as
much as I can.
When I had to summarize the reservation then I still have some problems with it
because there were some new bookings that I had to go through and I need to learn
more about what I should put in the reservation summary.
The consulting problems, when I consulted my supervisor and another team leader
who I could consult then I got different advices. Therefore, I didn’t really know what
the correct one was. However, I am under taken care of my supervisor so; I would like
to follow his instructions.
When I had to check about the correction of package tours, then I was a little serious
because I needed to read and check carefully and had to concentrate on my job.
Sometimes, where there was something disturbed me I had to re-check over and over
again. I always try not to make something wrong because my mistakes will cause
problems to my company, supervisor as well as directly to myself.
Student’s opinion
I would like to consider about the Tourplan program training first, I think that the
company should provide the computers or laptops to the internship students because
we could practice ourselves while the trainee was giving us the information and
teaching us how to use the program. Then, all students can practice easily, get familiar
to the program quickly and sometimes we would experience a problem while we are
using the program.
I realize something when I am in the real workplace that the different kinds of people
will have different styles of works even in the same company which produces the
same standard. There are still the different processes and ideas of work so, I get an
idea that it doesn’t matter how much difference of the employees are as long as the
result of their works are the same.

4. The internship student is pretty new for the system and organization of the company
so, I think that I need to learn a lot from the company and try to adjust myself to the
company’s environment. I also need to understand that I have less experiences of
working with the tour company so, what I can do is to work and run basic jobs of my
department. However, it would be great for me if my supervisor lets me do some new,
interesting and hard jobs because they challenge my ability and skills.
