The document details the 13 day rescue efforts of Rick and Manny, known as the "Soul Patrol", during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans' 7th Ward. As the flood waters rose, they evacuated their homes and began rescuing stranded neighbors by boat, taking them to shelters. They were later joined by other rescuers and their efforts grew. Over the next 12 days, they searched tirelessly for survivors and escorted officials, media, and filmmakers through the flooded neighborhood. On day 13, exhausted from their rescue efforts, Rick and his team were evacuated from New Orleans.
