 Zhè shì yì běn yīngwén shū.

zhè and nà are the most commonly used demonstrative
pronouns in Chinese.
Nà shì shénme? (What is that?)
Zhè shì shénme? (What is this?)
nà shì yì běn shénme shū?
nà shì yì běn yīngwén shū.
那是一本什么书?
那是一本英文书。
Běn is a measure word. In Chinese, the number must be
combined with a measure word to say how many of something
there are.
Numeral + Measure word + Noun
Yì + běn + yīngwén shū

nǐ xué shénme?
你学什么?
(What do you study?)
wǒ xué yīnggúo wénxúe, nǐ ne?
我学英国文学,你呢?
(I study English literature.)
Gōngchéng nán ma?
工程难吗?(Is Engineering difficult?)
Bú tài nán.
不太难. (Not tool difficult.)
 zhōngwén nán ma? (Is Chinese difficult?)
中文难吗?
 zhōngwén hěn nán.(Chinese is very difficult.)
