Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Glossário Facebook - Uma História explicando os Termos do Facebook
1.
2. ESTELA E GABRIELA
PERFIS FACEBOOK
Entendendo o Facebook
5. ALCANCE
É O NÚMERO DE PESSOAS ÚNICAS QUE VIRAM
A PUBLICAÇÃO.
Quando Estela publicou em sua Fan
Page, o alcance do post passou a ser 2,
assim que Gabriela visualizou em sua
timeline.
Quanto maior o número de pessoas
que visualizam a publicação, maior o
número de alcance.
CURTIR
9. Sendo assim, o
alcance da
publicação passou a
ser 2 (Estela e
Gabriela) + 5
(Amigos de Gabriela)
= 7
Inclusive, Eliel Guilhen.
Eliel tem 800 amigos. Se
ele curtir a publicação, a
publicação também será
exibida para eles (exceto
aos que bloquearam Eliel
dos amigos)
Quando os outros 33
amigos de Gabriela
estiverem online, é
provável que eles também
visualizem a publicação.
10. ALCANCE SOCIAL
PESSOAS QUE FORAM ALCANÇADAS COM O NOME DE SEUS
AMIGOS.
Se você não estiver usando os
Históricos patrocinados ou
anunciando uma página, evento ou
aplicativo, você não terá alcance
social.

13. CLIQUE
É O NÚMERO TOTAL DE CLIQUES NOS ANÚNCIOS
Estela resolve fazer um anúncio de sua
fan page
14. Depois de anunciado. Gabriela vê o
anúncio e clica em curtir.
Médicos Brasil
Curta a minha fan page
e fique sabendo de
tudo!
Sendo assim, o
Clique em Curtir da
Gabriela no anúncio
de Estela soma +1
no total de Cliques
do anúncio.
50 outras pessoas
haviam curtido o
anúncio antes,
então, com o curtir
de Gabriela, o
anúncio passa a ter
51 cliques.
“Os cliques são contados
sempre que um usuário clica
em um anúncio seu que o
leva para a nossa página de
destino” Facebook.
15. Eliel está navegando por sua Timeline
e visualiza o anúncio da Estela com
contexto social, ou seja, Eliel enxerga o
anúncio através de sua amiga Gabriela
que anteriormente clicou no anúncio.
Gabriela Goody curtiu isso.
Médicos Brasil
Curta a minha fan page
e fique sabendo de
tudo!
Dessa forma, o anúncio de Estela
aparece para Eliel evidenciando que
sua amiga Gabriela curtiu.
Eliel, assim como muitas outras pessoas,
sente mais 'afinidade' pelo anúncio
sabendo que sua amiga curte ele.
Então, Eliel curte o anúncio também.
16. Os cliques do anúncio
passam a ser 52. 50
cliques antes de
Gabriela visualizá-lo, 51
após Gabriela ter
clicado e 52 após Eliel
ter visualizado o
anúncio com contexto
social, através de
Gabriela.
O número de clique é 52, mas o
número de clique social é 1, pois
foi Eliel quem foi atingido pelo
anúncio com contexto social, ou
seja, com informações sobre o(s)
amigo(s) que conectou-se à página
do anúncio, nesse caso Gabriela.
17. O número de Clique engloba o número
de Clique Social.
Clique
Clique Social
CLIQUE SOCIAL
É O NÚMERO DE VEZES QUE SEU ANÚNCIO FOI CLICADO COM
CONTEXTO SOCIAL
“Os cliques são contados sempre que
um usuário clica em um anúncio seu
que o leva para a nossa página de
destino. Se você estiver anunciando
uma Página ou Evento do Facebook,
um clique também será contado
quando um usuário "curtir" a sua
página ou local, ou ao confirmar
presença no seu evento no anúncio”
Facebook.
18. Gabriela Goody e Eliel Guilhen
curtiram isso.
Médicos Brasil
Curta a minha fan page
e fique sabendo de
tudo!
IMPRESSÕES
IMPRESSÕES É O NÚMERO TOTAL DE VEZES
QUE O ANÚNCIO FOI EXIBIDO NO FACEBOOK
As impressões são contadas
sempre que um o anúncio de
Estela for mostrado para um
usuário, independente dele clicar
no anúncio.
52 clicaram, mas outras 100
pessoas viram o anúncio enquanto
navegavam pelo Facebook.
Essas pessoas não se identificaram
com o anúncio e simplesmente o
ignoraram, porém, visualizaram
em sua rede. Somando para o
número de Impressões.
19. Gabriela Goody e Eliel Guilhen
curtiram isso.
Médicos Brasil
Curta a minha fan page
e fique sabendo de
tudo!
quantas vezes a pessoa visualizar o anúncio.
(outro exemplo)
Se 3 pessoas
visualizaram 10
vezes o anúncio,
cada uma delas.
Logo:
Alcance = 3
Impressão = 30
23. Sendo assim, além das 202 impressões,
outras 50 pessoas visualizaram o anúncio
com contexto social, através de amigos
que interagiram com anúncio antes.
Então, o anúncio passa a ter
252 impressões e 50
impressões sociais.
