Graduation Speech Essay
Well Class of 2012, we did it! We are graduating. All the hard work we have done to graduate has
paid off. All the final exams, the many steps we've taken up and down Gadd High's halls, to the
gym for practice, up to the cafeteria to connect with friends, down to the library, up to the playing
fields –– they're all over. After today, our lives will be changed forever. Before that happens, let's
take a look at the last four years of memories and even go back to those memories from our
elementary and middle school years and collect them into a book; our own book, our book of life.
If, some day, people could read our individual book, what would they learn from them?
Have you ever read a book you just couldn't put down? A book that was so...show more content...
Now, we're at the chapter–titled "Graduation." No matter how much we might want to slow down
the page being read today, we can't. For now, the book is becoming far too interesting.
We all have written different and fascinating chapters in our books from experiences at GaddHigh
School. Chapters filled with the friendships we've made, the sports teams we've played on, and
the school's activities we've been a part of, ones such as drama, band, Homecoming, Winter Ball,
Tolo, and most recently prom. Even just looking back a couple of years ago, who could forget the
excitement of driving for the first time without Mom or Dad? Some of us also have the memories
from work, difficult family struggles and pressure to get the last few credits. These experiences
have made our books exciting. In fact, what we have written makes us proud to be up here today.
My chapters are filled with the memories of friends, good times, laughter and late nights doing
work. Now after tonight, this graduation ceremony and the grad night party will be added to my
book. I'm proud to be a part of this class and I will always remember the humor and good nature of
how this class can face difficult obstacles with a smile. A tough assignment assigned, tons of work
to do, it didn't matter. We faced it head on and got the job done. There are many things I'm going to
miss: my friends, the basketball team, and most of all, the people who have made a big impact in
my life.

graduation speech
A good speech for an elementary graduation would depend on who is going to be doing the
speaking. For a teacher, you'll want to make sure you thank the students for all of their hard work
and wish them the best in the next grade they move up to. For kids, they can thank their teacher for
a good year and thank their parents for their support. This page contains a funny sample speech for
Middle School or Elementary School graduations for principles, teachers or other key note speakers.
The speech template can be customized for graduations from preschool, 8th Grade, Junior High
School, clubs, high school or other graduation events as well. This speech is humorous but also talks
about dedication and personal commitment. We hope this graduation...show more content...
Remember that you don't have to follow the crowd. Do the right thing, even if no one is looking.
Study hard and remember that you're investing in yourself with every test you take and every book
you read. And finally, don't be in too big of a hurry to grow up. These are some great times in your
life. Don't rush past them.
There are great things coming, and just as your parents are proud, each one of you should feel proud
of yourself.
So congratulations to all of the graduates, congratulations to the parents, and finally, congrats to the
teachers and everyone else who helped our graduates reach here today.
I'll leave you with this final quote, from a great author with whom I imagine you are all familar, by
the name of Dr. Seuss.
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction
you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide
where to go."
Congratulations again, and thank you for your attention.

Ladies, gentlemen, parents, friends, family, staff, fellow students:
Instead of taking up more time and reading my speech, it is available to you at http:/
/www.olen's_speech.com. Thank you.
No, just kidding.
But seriously folks...
Today we are gathered here to celebrate our graduation from 12 long years of schooling. The
education granted to us has been a privilege. One so graciously given to us by the citizens of our
state, by our community, and by our parents. Today would not be possible without them.
So far this evening we have looked back over the many past memories of our school years,
remembering the good times and the bad, talking about the fun times, and so on. Now I would like
to bring your focus to the...show more content...
In today's society, and I think among the students as well, there is a growing feeling of distrust
with our government and a feeling of "who cares." Well, it is now time to care. We whine and
complain about everything our government does, and we do nothing about it, and yet we're still
upset because nothing's changed. It's like we're armchair quarterbacks who really expect the
football player to actually hear us ranting and raving at the TV. We need to do something, and that is
to vote. As Lincoln said, "The ballot is stronger than the bullet."
There are also other ways to make a change in this world, however. Some of you may remember the
petition I passed around the lunches a few weeks back regarding the block schedule changes. It may
have seemed an insignificant, almost frivolous thing, but the point was to be heard; to make a
statement – that we can be heard and do have a say. And we were, at least in part, successful. I urge
you to do the same. Only now, in the "real world." Write a petition, sign a petition, vote, talk to your
legislators; write a letter to the newspaper. There are countless ways.
Now that we are in "the real world," and want to be a part of it, what do we do? We have the
responsibility to carefully examine it and become aware of it. And we have the technology to easily
do so. Even in just the past few years, the Internet, once just a small collection of "computer nerds"
chatting with each other, has exploded to

T.S. Eliot once wrote, "What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to
make a beginning. The end is where we start from." Every landmark in our lives will end but there
is always a beginning to an end. As each new path ends a new one begins. Graduation marks the end
of a path but as it ends a new path begins.
Life is an adventure. We started out by walking on a winding path as we entered the destination of
kindergarten. As our lives ventured on down the winding path, we met new friends and new life
experiences along the way. As the path widens, we see ourselves on a countryroad. We started
elementary school and we constantly gained new knowledge to help us progress in our journey. As
we continued along in our...show more content...
As the paved path merged, we found ourselves no longer walking, but driving in cars on the
highway in high school. Life started to get more challenging and things started to move at a faster
pace. In this part of our lives we got to choose which way we wanted to go, left or right. We found
hardships up the steep hills and we might have stopped at many intersections. However, we
always proceeded with the flow of traffic no matter what obstacle gets in our way, we always
managed to get through it. As our lives traveled on the highway, we saw others take different
roads along our journey, but we always found ourselves choosing to keep with our commitment of
continuing. We all had to make pit stops along the way through homework and projects, but it
fueled us to get stronger and helped us gain knowledge to make it up those steep hills and
intersections. Finally, when graduation comes, the highway ends and merges to a new beginning
as we leave our memories in the past in our rearview mirror. Miles and miles of opportunities
await us. However, each one of us has a different goal or route in life, and each of us will find
different exits along the way to fulfill our dream. Some of us will take the express lanes and
continue our education through college. Some of us might follow the freeway not knowing where
fate will take us. Life isn't always easy on the freeway. Some of us might get stuck in traffic jams.

After four years, we are finally gathered on the steps of what we thought we'd never come to. We
are graduating, finally shedding the familiar and embarking on a world of "what's–next?"
Despite that, though, today is perhaps most importantly a day to remember our past. In the entire
childhood of memories that each of us has accumulated, beginning roughly when we were still
young enough to believe braces are cool, some of the most vivid and influential are from this campus.
The high school years are mainly those in which a person leaves off building their lives around
what they have been shown, and begins to select the path they will take for themselves. It is fair to
say that these last four years have seen immense changes in each...show more content...
As Churchill once said, "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is,
perhaps, the end of the beginning." This moment, then, is the comparative conclusion of our
childhood, the first phase of our lives and thusly this is our most significant milestone to date.
However, it is simultaneously incorrect to view today as a sort of ending. Summer began a few
days ago, but the change did not imply a finish. And, for all of the ending that does accompany that
change, there is an even greater beginning.
Which brings us to the part of life that we are perhaps thinking the most of: our future. It is
important that we do not see graduation as only a finality, but that we view it as an achieved
milestone on the varied path that each of our lives will give us, and perhaps even a chance to start
over.
After today, the lives of each graduating student here will lead them on a different direction. And,
letting this phase of our lives pass, we then come to the crossroads at which we must decide what
we wish to devote our lives to.
I have a few small bits of advice for you:
1. Know your limits, and disregard them.
2. Always keep a diary. It will be the best book you'll ever read.
3. Never work too hard to acquire material possessions; they'll only weigh you down as you go
through life.
4. Never regret any single thing you've done in life. Know that you can't change the past and, each
day, you have

Students, faculty, family, friends, on this exciting day, I speak to optimism, laughter, and grins.
As I was gathering input for this graduation speech, several people suggested including a profound
quote offering "encouraging advice to the young graduates", and then there were others who said,
"eh don't worry about it, no one listens to those anyway." Fortunately, I was actually able to take
from both suggestions and found a happy balance.
You see, I won't tell you today to: "Dare to dream" or "Find your own vision" or even to "Strive for
excellence," or any trite clichГ© that's ever been said in a graduation speech. So this might not be
your typical commencement. I have no list of "Do's and Don'ts" for you. I don't have any funny

And we've all heard our parents say "we trust you" followed by a "be home by 12 o clock".
Life is one big contradiction and you'll drive yourself crazy if you try to figure it out. So don't.
Embrace it. Laugh at it a bit. Whatever you do, don't take it too seriously. Those are some of the
ways I have made it through these past four years at McNeil.
You see, the biggest contradiction I have noticed so far is the stress that is put on the big things in
life when it is really all the little things scattered in between when I find I'm most happy. It's those
seemingly insignificant, random pieces of time that have kept me going throughout the crazies
thrown at us as and they keep me laughing, smiling, and moving on. Whether it's playing Halo and
focusing on getting that next running riot, chatting and profile–snooping on AIM, or hearing a
pointless story told from a friend––it's those little moments of carefree smiling that I feel get
overlooked.
With AP classes, national honor this, mu alpha that, drum practice here, yearbook deadline there,
flag twirling up, singing voices coming down, and bells ring ringing all in between, it's no wonder
we students have been rushing through the motions of our ritualistic high school lives. By the time
we make it home, create time for dinner, toss a wave to the parents, and start our homework, the
days begin to blur into nights and before you know it there goes the gross alarm reminding you it is
time

I agonized over writing this speech for a long time, because I felt like nothing I could say would
make a difference, first because I don't know if what I could say would be good advice, and
second because I don't know if advice about things like being true to yourself and setting goals
and all that is actually helpful. How can I give advice that I can't even follow in my own life?
And even if you are mesmerized for my two minutes, you would walk out of here and your life
wouldn't be any different. Or maybe you'd be inspired for a day, and then forget. But still, the
speech had to be written.
In my writing process, I would talk to various people, who were all very encouraging, and get all
excited about a new speech and brainstorm a lot...show more content...
And I got more and more anxious as deadlines approached, and on the last night I could, I sat in
front of my computer at 11:09, only wanting to go to sleep, trying to come up with my speech,
feeling completely futile because it is a waste of time for me to get up and say anything if it is not
important. It's boring for you and it's just dumb for me, so I was sitting here crying, because even
though I had nothing to say I felt like I needed to say something because I am valedictorian and I
should speak.
And then I decided that maybe I just shouldn't talk. I should be the valedictorian who doesn't speak.
I mean, what's the point of speaking when there is no point? And then my tears slowed, and I thought
, I could never respect myself for that. That is letting the fear and futility get the best of me.
Because if I can't make some statement in my life, then my whole life is meaningless and there is
truly no point in being here.
Even though I don't know what the point is, on some level I believe there is a point to existence,
otherwise we wouldn't exist, and so even when everything seems futile and stupid, maybe the best
we can do is to have the courage to make a statement. To not back down and let the questions and
confusion rule our lives. To pursue those questions and confusions until they lead us to an answer
we can deal with. For this I greatly admire Lexi, Camille, and Carlene. Even when it doesn't seem
like anything

It's hard to believe that we are actually sitting here in the auditorium for the last time as students of
Kheradmand High. But we are! We made it through four years of high school. Now we are
teetering on the edge of the rest of our lives, having to grow up and head out into the "real" world.
That thought might scare some people, but we are ready. After all, if you decide that you don't
want to be a part of the real world, maybe, you can always come back to Kheradmand High and
maybe they will let you be a teacher.
Remember the first day you stepped foot onto the Kheradmand High School campus, and how
awestruck you were by the size of the seniors? Not only were they tall, they were enormous. I
wonder if we had that same effect on the...show more content...
How can you complain about being able to sleep in an extra hour each week? Those who never
make it to class on time truly appreciated the free tardy.
Our sophomore year inspired the anti–spamming rule. When people got in touch with one of the
finer things in life by our spamming of a pep assembly, it led to the banning of one of the basic food
groups. Sorry for all of you who love your Spam.
Our junior year, the administration tried to appease us by not requiring us to do a Senior Exit
Project. Perhaps they mistook us for the last class of the old century, instead of the first class of the
new millennium. Or perhaps they had not yet recovered from Freshman Focus.
In our senior year, the administration fought back. They forced us to sit through Planning Team
for an hour each week. Were they trying to make people drop out? Well we survived! They also
changed the Senior Lot to the Student Lot! But after the senior guys explained the importance of
the Senior Lot tradition to the underclassmen, the underclassmen quickly realized that the street
was a much safer place to park. Maybe we did inspire some of the same awe of the classes that
preceded us. We ran the school like a senior class is supposed to.
Now we are looking back trying to figure out just exactly what it is that we learned during our stay
in the halls and classrooms of Kheradmand High. I am convinced that we have learned many
worthwhile things that will serve us well

As a graduation speaker, I'm supposed to stand up here reflectively gazing out upon the few, the
proud, the chosen: the Class of 2012, and point in general directions while saying the clichГ©,
"Among us I see the first female president and a future congressman and the next mayor of
Everett." But besides that I would never in my most vengeful moments wish those positions upon
any of you, I cannot make those assertions because I am categorically against campaigns of any
kind. Inspirational speaker John Bytheway said, "Success is more likely to come naturally from
living life fully than by a direct and pointed campaign to achieve that long–range goal." This asserts
that it's better to achieve by living deliberately than by doorbelling....show more content...
We must keep our eyes on the prize, but we can't be afraid to glance around at our surroundings.
Instead of being obsessed with the end, enjoy the journey. Instead of campaigning, we should
concentrate on living to the fullest extent, seizing the day, each day, every day. Instead of being
competitive, be compassionate. Then, win or lose, we will have gleaned something from every
experience. We all know this and practice it already. In the book "The Chosen," David Malter says,
"The greatest things that will ever happen in your life will often be the result of silly things, as you
call them – ordinary things is a better expression." A lot of silly things happen in high school,
everything from Personal Floatation Device Day to the unveiling of the Pep Potty at assemblies.
Each day is certainly packed with the ordinary: tests, homework, running into doors as they swing
open into the hallways. But those things add up, and sincerity and candor transform the silly and
ordinary into the extraordinary. Moms and Dads, you're not on a crusade to make the centerfold of
"Parenting" magazine when you pack lunches and tuck notes into the brown bags, notes that are
treasured by your child, who is teased by people like me. You have your own reasons for bringing
forgotten assignments and PE clothes during your lunch break. Teachers, hopefully you're not

To the County High School Class of 2012: As you sit in front of me, I know what most of you are
thinking at the moment. There are those who are already pondering about what life without high
school will be like; those who are debating whether or not to tell your crush tonight about your
whispers of adoration you've secretly held for four years; some simply want to get out of that

For the moment, please do not dwell on the past or even look into the future, there's time for that
later. Instead, I ask that you give up a few minutes of your lives to sit back, let that gown flow and
enjoy the final curtain call of your high school career. Enjoy the sights and sounds of today, right
now; and be aware of the mindfulness opening your senses and releasing your inhibitions can
summon.
Feel the tingle on your eyes; it is trying to tell you something so pay attention to it. Look, do you
see it? That's anxiety, a thick and pulsating anxiety that is flowing through the air right now from
person to person. It is a stream of consciousness that is multiplied in this medium only because we
all have the same questions: Do I have time to go to the bathroom? When will this Asian fool shut
up? Who is this guy sitting next to me and why is he so ugly? The anxiety will not die. Capture the
anxiety in your mind as a visual aspect of tonight. Remember it.
Let the twitch in your ear awake your emotions. Listen carefully. It's the sound of a gloomy day.
What is usually a dismal tune is now replaced with the bittersweet melody of our graduation
ceremony under the clouds. Ask yourself, when was the last time you realized the song, instead of
the sight of a day? Capture the drizzle as an audio aspect of tonight. Remember it.

If I was asked to describe the attitude of the common high school student with one word, I would
choose the word "why." We seem to be constantly questioning everything that appears out of the
ordinary, anything that departs from the routine which has been established for us. We seem to be
intolerant of anything that our MTV culture has declared "uncool." As we graduate from Washington
High School, we must stop asking "why" and start asking "why not." We should be open to
anything as we venture into what society has labeled "the real world." No longer should we limit
ourselves to the same environment and small group of people we have grown accustomed to. In
turn, we should no longer limit ourselves to the same view of the world.
Life is...show more content...
If we fail to gain these new experiences, we are merely cheating ourselves, and the world around us.
Throughout high school, the majority of us have kept the same limited group of friends. We
assumed that our immediate company was best suited for us and did not attempt to meet new
people. We have always been asking, "why should we meet new people?", as we remain
complacent with our current acquaintances. Why not attempt to find others who share your
beliefs, enjoy the same hobbies, and laugh at the same jokes as you? If you never take the time to
meet these new and interesting people, you very well may miss the opportunity to meet someone
who will change your life. We should also take the time to understand people whom we have
labeled as different and attempt to see the world from their eyes. As we go our separate ways next
year, most of us will actually be forced to say "why not" and experience the company of new
individuals. The more variety we include in the make up of our companions, the wider our view of
the world will become.
As we begin our trek into this "real world," we should take time to travel beyond this merely
rhetorical "why", and truly experience the "why not." We should make it a goal to experience
something new everyday. Experience something that frightens you, something that you were told
you could never

Good evening everyone. My name is Toyota Moko, and I am an international student from Japan. As

Born and grew up in Tokyo where speaking English was absolutely absent in my eighteen years of

I still recall the very first class I took. I was so scared and nervous that I talked to the teacher to drop
the class. However, I did not give up and tried to keep up with my work. In the end, it paid off and
I received an A from the class. This has taught me a great lesson that your effort will not betray you.
Since then for the last two years, I have made every possible effort to pursue my education so as not
to take for granted this precious experience. At first, I struggled with the new educational system that
demands you to think and have your own opinion. Therefore, I would always ask questions until I
fully understood. I have been very fortunate to have all the great teachers who enthusiastically
dedicated their time with my questions. That has brought me a successful academic achievement.
Each instructor has inspired me with new perspectives and that enriched the way I see the world.
As a way to give back to others, I gladly took notes for those who need help through the center for
disability service. Volunteering at the Bethany nursing home for a Japanese elder woman by being
a conversational partner was especially a joyful experience for this reminded me of my late
grandmother who would be the same age.
Being a foreign student has shown me how hard it is to adjust to another culture, but this experience
has in return inspired me to have my dream as being a bridge between different

Well, this is it, the day all of us have been waiting for has finally arrived. It seems like only
yesterday we were picking our noses and flicking them at innocent bystanders or yelling childish

We are knocking on the door of total independence, something we have never fully understood. We
have just barely begun the trip on the roller coaster of life and already it seems like we've had quite
a ride. Some of us will go on to college, some will enter into the work force, and most of us are still
undecided. But whichever path we take, it won't be easy and believe me, a year or two from now
you're gonna wish you were back at good old LHS because the term "9 to 5" is going to take on a
whole new meaning, and I'll tell you right now it ain't gonna be pretty folks.
Our graduation is our coming of age, our right of passage. As we walk across this stage we are
writing the closing pages to our Chapter I and heading into the great unknown. It's kinda scary –– but
hey, don't you cry, even thoughhigh school is over, the times we've shared and the friends we've
made will never be lost. The clock is ticking, time is fleeting and nobody lives forever. But true
friendship is something we can count on never dying. I hope wherever we go in life it will be
happy and even if we all move to remote island countries we can all count on the memories and
laugh at all the stupid things we did.
So to the class of 06', I'd like to say thanks for the memories and good luck. You're gonna need it.

I won't speak long today for two reasons. The first being that I remember my high school graduation
and I couldn't tell you who spoke or how many speakers there even were; all I remember is the
that person in front of me had one of the old Gameboys and was playing Tetris. Everyone was so
enthralled with what the speakers were saying that a group of about 30 of my classmates were
leaning in and watching him play Tetris. One of the funniest things I ever saw was a picture
taken of my graduating class and seeing the right half of the graduates sitting peacefully and left
half all leaning in to watch a single person play a black and white video game. Which illustrates
my second point perfectly: that you don't really want to listen to me. You want to go out and prove
to the rest of the world what everyone here at Bulls already knows: that no matter how many late
nights or hours of perseverance it takes for you to achieve your goals, you will achieve them, and
nothing can stop you.
I could stand up here and rave about Bulls. That the group of people that work there is one of the
most diverse and incredible groups of people I have ever had the chance to meet. But I won't
because why should I waste your time telling you things you already know? All the time and effort
that the professors and administrators have put in over these last few years of your life hasn't been

dictionary for the heck of it. And beyond the obvious definitions I found, there was one that plainly
stuck out. "To change gradually". Now if you think about it, I guess that sums up all our years of
schooling right there. I mean, I can still remember back to first grade and racing home to watch the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesdefeat Shredder and the evil foot soldiers. Of course, Michelangelo
was my favorite because he was the care–free surfer turtle that every boy dreamed of being like.
Well, cartoons didn't last long in junior high, and my first real change occurred because of the...show

When your boyfriend or girlfriend just said it's all over, your friends were there for you. When
you waited until the very last moment to finish that project and needed help, your friends were
there for you. And whenever you needed someone to talk with or a shoulder to cry on, your
friends were always there for you. Out of all the lessons we have been taught, none are greater
then the lessons we have received from our friends. Before you go today, don't let the opportunity
to say one final goodbye to your fellow companions slip by. For they are the true gifts of high school
that we will never forget and hold in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
So now it's time to complete another phase of our "gradual change" by taking a final step away
from home and into the real world. But the question is, how will we do this. Will we charge
through any barriers we encounter in a relentless pursuit of our dream, or will we aimlessly walk
the road of life and turn around whenever struggles come our way. It's easy for us to think of a
dream, but something else to touch it. Many have gone after their goals passively and failed to
ever reach the peak of the mountain they so tirelessly climbed. However, others have dedicated
themselves to their dream and fought like a raging bull to see it become a reality. My challenge for
us today, is to be that raging bull and climb to the top of our mountain with passion. When a

Graduation Speech Essay
Welcome staff, students, family, and graduates. Today marks a special day in our lives. Today is
the day of our graduation. It seems with every graduating class there is a certain amount of
responsibility placed on the graduates. For this year's class it is no different, in fact more has
been placed on this class than any others in history. The Class of 2006 is going to shape our world
for the 21st century; the Class of 2006 is going to improve our lives and our country. We can talk
all we want about the things we want to accomplish or change, but if we do not reach out for
opportunities, then all of these ideas are fantasies. This is what I want to talk about with all of you
today. First, what is an opportunity? An opportunity...show more content...
To her, sacrificing a couple of hours of sleep on the weekend was worth making a positive impact
on the hungry and lonesome. She did not let the opportunity to help those less fortunate pass her
by. How about the young man graduating tonight who paid little attention to studying or his
grades until his junior year? As a senior he not only improved on his GPA, but put countless hours
helping with the senior auction, Mr. CHS, and Prom. He took the opportunity to help his school
and his class. I cannot forget to mention the Key Club members who worked long hours in
unpleasant weather collecting canned food to give to families in our community. These are just
some examples of how students have reached out to opportunities that took them out of their
comfort zone. Many of us become so comfortable in our place that we do not want to help or
reach out for fear that we might lose what we already have. We become content in doing the same
thing over and over again. We try to justify our reasons for not doing anything by telling ourselves
that someone else will do it or by questioning our ability. What could I do? I couldn't make a
difference. How selfish it is for someone who has been blessed with the talent and capabilities to just
sit there and do nothing. Just think where our country would be if Martin Luther King Jr. had told
himself that he could not make a difference. The seating arrangements in this stadium tonight might
be very different. We should not let

Graduation Speech : Thank You Essay
Thank you. Thank you very much, everyone. Sorry to keep you waiting. Complicated business,
complicated. Thank you very much.
I 've just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us. It's about us. On our victory,
and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard–fought campaign.
I mean, she fought very hard. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time,
and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.
I mean that very sincerely. Now it is time for America to bind the wounds of division, have to get
together. To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for
us to come together as one united people.
It is time. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all of Americans, and this
is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there
were a few people, I 'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work
together and unify our great country. As I 've said from the beginning, ours was not a campaign but
rather an incredible and great movement, made up of millions of hard–working men and women
who love their country and want a better, brighter future for themselves and for their family.
It is a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds, and beliefs, who
want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will.

Graduation Speech : My Graduation Essay
My Graduation A Graduation ceremony is one of the major steps in life, it marks the start of new
changes in our lives. It ushers us into growing up and be responsible for our actions. It marks a new
dawn of embracing life experiences, cultivation of good work ethics and eventually culminates in
chasing our dreams. On my graduation day, I woke up to the sweet aroma of the breakfast my sister
was making. I sat down to eat when the food was ready. It took me about 2 hours to finish bathing. I
wore my African clothes (it was a slim waist top, with a curvy skirt sew with African cloth). After I
was done wearing my clothes my sister tried several ways of styling my scarf so my cap could fit on
my head. I had on very big braids. So the task was nearly impossible but she figured out a way to
make it look very simple yet stylish. I sat down to wear my shoes, I looked at my phone and said.
"Omg guys am going to be late if we don't leave this instant." Nobody replied .I went to check on
my sister and she was putting on her lipstick like we had all the time in the world. All of a sudden
I starting thinking, what if am late, I wouldn't be able to participate in the ceremony. I got scared
my heart started racing really fast. I was in my own thoughts when all of a sudden, I heard my
brother say." time to go". I smiled, and sighed I was really relieved. On our way to school my sister
was playing my favorite African songs (hip hop). I was usually the type that sings

Hello, good morning and welcome to graduation for the class of 2012. I have waited to hear those
words for 5 years – and by the looks on all of my fellow graduates faces, I am not alone. Think with
me for a minute about the process we have gone through which has gathered us here today. Our
stories of these past years are not much different. Whether you went to a community college,
transferred here from another four–year school or started your freshman year in the dorms near the
entrance of this campus, we are finally finishing together.
My brother asked me how I was able to finish college. I told him it is because I enjoy learning and I
always finish. No matter if I unplug my computer and lose all my work, I stay up until...show more

She had no idea she was molding a geographer. I can remember learning about Thanksgiving by
making a Turkey dinner out of play dough for my GI Joe figures and learning how to read by
wearing the pages of my Bernstein Bears books. . My mom even created a core class when she
introduced my brother and I to gerbils. It started out as a sexual reproduction chapter but after about
a month it became a math class just trying to keep up with how many new gerbils were in the cage.
When it came time to go into public school, I tested into the third grade but was given the option
to go into second to be with my age group. I can remember my mom asking me what grade I
wanted to go into and I felt so grown up and smart to say 'give me the third grade'. I can't imagine
the feeling my mom had leaving there knowing her son was going into the third grade after the
years she spent teaching me. Cheers to you mom. You lit the fire and handed me the fan and here I
am.
Public school was a difficult transition for me. After my teacher heard he was getting a kid whom
had come from a home school setting, he envisioned a Helen Keller type and sat me with students
that were of similar standards. Kids are cruel and I think they were especially cruel at the
elementary school I went to because I was teased about everything they could come up with. I
changed my name from Richard to Rich that year for obvious reasons and had to except

Graduation Speech Essay

  • 1. Graduation Speech Essay Well Class of 2012, we did it! We are graduating. All the hard work we have done to graduate has paid off. All the final exams, the many steps we've taken up and down Gadd High's halls, to the gym for practice, up to the cafeteria to connect with friends, down to the library, up to the playing fields –– they're all over. After today, our lives will be changed forever. Before that happens, let's take a look at the last four years of memories and even go back to those memories from our elementary and middle school years and collect them into a book; our own book, our book of life. If, some day, people could read our individual book, what would they learn from them? Have you ever read a book you just couldn't put down? A book that was so...show more content... Now, we're at the chapter–titled "Graduation." No matter how much we might want to slow down the page being read today, we can't. For now, the book is becoming far too interesting. We all have written different and fascinating chapters in our books from experiences at GaddHigh School. Chapters filled with the friendships we've made, the sports teams we've played on, and the school's activities we've been a part of, ones such as drama, band, Homecoming, Winter Ball, Tolo, and most recently prom. Even just looking back a couple of years ago, who could forget the excitement of driving for the first time without Mom or Dad? Some of us also have the memories from work, difficult family struggles and pressure to get the last few credits. These experiences have made our books exciting. In fact, what we have written makes us proud to be up here today. My chapters are filled with the memories of friends, good times, laughter and late nights doing work. Now after tonight, this graduation ceremony and the grad night party will be added to my book. I'm proud to be a part of this class and I will always remember the humor and good nature of how this class can face difficult obstacles with a smile. A tough assignment assigned, tons of work to do, it didn't matter. We faced it head on and got the job done. There are many things I'm going to miss: my friends, the basketball team, and most of all, the people who have made a big impact in my life. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. graduation speech A good speech for an elementary graduation would depend on who is going to be doing the speaking. For a teacher, you'll want to make sure you thank the students for all of their hard work and wish them the best in the next grade they move up to. For kids, they can thank their teacher for a good year and thank their parents for their support. This page contains a funny sample speech for Middle School or Elementary School graduations for principles, teachers or other key note speakers. The speech template can be customized for graduations from preschool, 8th Grade, Junior High School, clubs, high school or other graduation events as well. This speech is humorous but also talks about dedication and personal commitment. We hope this graduation...show more content... Remember that you don't have to follow the crowd. Do the right thing, even if no one is looking. Study hard and remember that you're investing in yourself with every test you take and every book you read. And finally, don't be in too big of a hurry to grow up. These are some great times in your life. Don't rush past them. There are great things coming, and just as your parents are proud, each one of you should feel proud of yourself. So congratulations to all of the graduates, congratulations to the parents, and finally, congrats to the teachers and everyone else who helped our graduates reach here today. I'll leave you with this final quote, from a great author with whom I imagine you are all familar, by the name of Dr. Seuss. "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go." Congratulations again, and thank you for your attention. Did you like this sample speech for Middle School and Elementary School Graduation? Graduation Speech Essay Ladies, gentlemen, parents, friends, family, staff, fellow students: Instead of taking up more time and reading my speech, it is available to you at http:/ /www.olen's_speech.com. Thank you. No, just kidding. But seriously folks... Today we are gathered here to celebrate our graduation from 12 long years of schooling. The education granted to us has been a privilege. One so graciously given to us by the citizens of our state, by our community, and by our parents. Today would not be possible without them. So far this evening we have looked back over the many past memories of our school years, remembering the good times and the bad, talking about the fun times, and so on. Now I would like to bring your focus to the...show more content... In today's society, and I think among the students as well, there is a growing feeling of distrust with our government and a feeling of "who cares." Well, it is now time to care. We whine and complain about everything our government does, and we do nothing about it, and yet we're still upset because nothing's changed. It's like we're armchair quarterbacks who really expect the football player to actually hear us ranting and raving at the TV. We need to do something, and that is to vote. As Lincoln said, "The ballot is stronger than the bullet." There are also other ways to make a change in this world, however. Some of you may remember the petition I passed around the lunches a few weeks back regarding the block schedule changes. It may have seemed an insignificant, almost frivolous thing, but the point was to be heard; to make a statement – that we can be heard and do have a say. And we were, at least in part, successful. I urge you to do the same. Only now, in the "real world." Write a petition, sign a petition, vote, talk to your legislators; write a letter to the newspaper. There are countless ways. Now that we are in "the real world," and want to be a part of it, what do we do? We have the responsibility to carefully examine it and become aware of it. And we have the technology to easily do so. Even in just the past few years, the Internet, once just a small collection of "computer nerds" chatting with each other, has exploded to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Graduation Speech Essay example T.S. Eliot once wrote, "What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from." Every landmark in our lives will end but there is always a beginning to an end. As each new path ends a new one begins. Graduation marks the end of a path but as it ends a new path begins. Life is an adventure. We started out by walking on a winding path as we entered the destination of kindergarten. As our lives ventured on down the winding path, we met new friends and new life experiences along the way. As the path widens, we see ourselves on a countryroad. We started elementary school and we constantly gained new knowledge to help us progress in our journey. As we continued along in our...show more content... As the paved path merged, we found ourselves no longer walking, but driving in cars on the highway in high school. Life started to get more challenging and things started to move at a faster pace. In this part of our lives we got to choose which way we wanted to go, left or right. We found hardships up the steep hills and we might have stopped at many intersections. However, we always proceeded with the flow of traffic no matter what obstacle gets in our way, we always managed to get through it. As our lives traveled on the highway, we saw others take different roads along our journey, but we always found ourselves choosing to keep with our commitment of continuing. We all had to make pit stops along the way through homework and projects, but it fueled us to get stronger and helped us gain knowledge to make it up those steep hills and intersections. Finally, when graduation comes, the highway ends and merges to a new beginning as we leave our memories in the past in our rearview mirror. Miles and miles of opportunities await us. However, each one of us has a different goal or route in life, and each of us will find different exits along the way to fulfill our dream. Some of us will take the express lanes and continue our education through college. Some of us might follow the freeway not knowing where fate will take us. Life isn't always easy on the freeway. Some of us might get stuck in traffic jams. Some Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Graduation Speech Essay After four years, we are finally gathered on the steps of what we thought we'd never come to. We are graduating, finally shedding the familiar and embarking on a world of "what's–next?" Despite that, though, today is perhaps most importantly a day to remember our past. In the entire childhood of memories that each of us has accumulated, beginning roughly when we were still young enough to believe braces are cool, some of the most vivid and influential are from this campus. The high school years are mainly those in which a person leaves off building their lives around what they have been shown, and begins to select the path they will take for themselves. It is fair to say that these last four years have seen immense changes in each...show more content... As Churchill once said, "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." This moment, then, is the comparative conclusion of our childhood, the first phase of our lives and thusly this is our most significant milestone to date. However, it is simultaneously incorrect to view today as a sort of ending. Summer began a few days ago, but the change did not imply a finish. And, for all of the ending that does accompany that change, there is an even greater beginning. Which brings us to the part of life that we are perhaps thinking the most of: our future. It is important that we do not see graduation as only a finality, but that we view it as an achieved milestone on the varied path that each of our lives will give us, and perhaps even a chance to start over. After today, the lives of each graduating student here will lead them on a different direction. And, letting this phase of our lives pass, we then come to the crossroads at which we must decide what we wish to devote our lives to. I have a few small bits of advice for you: 1. Know your limits, and disregard them. 2. Always keep a diary. It will be the best book you'll ever read. 3. Never work too hard to acquire material possessions; they'll only weigh you down as you go through life. 4. Never regret any single thing you've done in life. Know that you can't change the past and, each day, you have

  • 7. Graduation Speech Essay Students, faculty, family, friends, on this exciting day, I speak to optimism, laughter, and grins. As I was gathering input for this graduation speech, several people suggested including a profound quote offering "encouraging advice to the young graduates", and then there were others who said, "eh don't worry about it, no one listens to those anyway." Fortunately, I was actually able to take from both suggestions and found a happy balance. You see, I won't tell you today to: "Dare to dream" or "Find your own vision" or even to "Strive for excellence," or any trite clichГ© that's ever been said in a graduation speech. So this might not be your typical commencement. I have no list of "Do's and Don'ts" for you. I don't have any funny ...show more content... And we've all heard our parents say "we trust you" followed by a "be home by 12 o clock". Life is one big contradiction and you'll drive yourself crazy if you try to figure it out. So don't. Embrace it. Laugh at it a bit. Whatever you do, don't take it too seriously. Those are some of the ways I have made it through these past four years at McNeil. You see, the biggest contradiction I have noticed so far is the stress that is put on the big things in life when it is really all the little things scattered in between when I find I'm most happy. It's those seemingly insignificant, random pieces of time that have kept me going throughout the crazies thrown at us as and they keep me laughing, smiling, and moving on. Whether it's playing Halo and focusing on getting that next running riot, chatting and profile–snooping on AIM, or hearing a pointless story told from a friend––it's those little moments of carefree smiling that I feel get overlooked. With AP classes, national honor this, mu alpha that, drum practice here, yearbook deadline there, flag twirling up, singing voices coming down, and bells ring ringing all in between, it's no wonder we students have been rushing through the motions of our ritualistic high school lives. By the time we make it home, create time for dinner, toss a wave to the parents, and start our homework, the days begin to blur into nights and before you know it there goes the gross alarm reminding you it is time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay on Graduation Speech I agonized over writing this speech for a long time, because I felt like nothing I could say would make a difference, first because I don't know if what I could say would be good advice, and second because I don't know if advice about things like being true to yourself and setting goals and all that is actually helpful. How can I give advice that I can't even follow in my own life? And even if you are mesmerized for my two minutes, you would walk out of here and your life wouldn't be any different. Or maybe you'd be inspired for a day, and then forget. But still, the speech had to be written. In my writing process, I would talk to various people, who were all very encouraging, and get all excited about a new speech and brainstorm a lot...show more content... And I got more and more anxious as deadlines approached, and on the last night I could, I sat in front of my computer at 11:09, only wanting to go to sleep, trying to come up with my speech, feeling completely futile because it is a waste of time for me to get up and say anything if it is not important. It's boring for you and it's just dumb for me, so I was sitting here crying, because even though I had nothing to say I felt like I needed to say something because I am valedictorian and I should speak. And then I decided that maybe I just shouldn't talk. I should be the valedictorian who doesn't speak. I mean, what's the point of speaking when there is no point? And then my tears slowed, and I thought , I could never respect myself for that. That is letting the fear and futility get the best of me. Because if I can't make some statement in my life, then my whole life is meaningless and there is truly no point in being here. Even though I don't know what the point is, on some level I believe there is a point to existence, otherwise we wouldn't exist, and so even when everything seems futile and stupid, maybe the best we can do is to have the courage to make a statement. To not back down and let the questions and confusion rule our lives. To pursue those questions and confusions until they lead us to an answer we can deal with. For this I greatly admire Lexi, Camille, and Carlene. Even when it doesn't seem like anything Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Graduation Speech Essay examples It's hard to believe that we are actually sitting here in the auditorium for the last time as students of Kheradmand High. But we are! We made it through four years of high school. Now we are teetering on the edge of the rest of our lives, having to grow up and head out into the "real" world. That thought might scare some people, but we are ready. After all, if you decide that you don't want to be a part of the real world, maybe, you can always come back to Kheradmand High and maybe they will let you be a teacher. Remember the first day you stepped foot onto the Kheradmand High School campus, and how awestruck you were by the size of the seniors? Not only were they tall, they were enormous. I wonder if we had that same effect on the...show more content... How can you complain about being able to sleep in an extra hour each week? Those who never make it to class on time truly appreciated the free tardy. Our sophomore year inspired the anti–spamming rule. When people got in touch with one of the finer things in life by our spamming of a pep assembly, it led to the banning of one of the basic food groups. Sorry for all of you who love your Spam. Our junior year, the administration tried to appease us by not requiring us to do a Senior Exit Project. Perhaps they mistook us for the last class of the old century, instead of the first class of the new millennium. Or perhaps they had not yet recovered from Freshman Focus. In our senior year, the administration fought back. They forced us to sit through Planning Team for an hour each week. Were they trying to make people drop out? Well we survived! They also changed the Senior Lot to the Student Lot! But after the senior guys explained the importance of the Senior Lot tradition to the underclassmen, the underclassmen quickly realized that the street was a much safer place to park. Maybe we did inspire some of the same awe of the classes that preceded us. We ran the school like a senior class is supposed to. Now we are looking back trying to figure out just exactly what it is that we learned during our stay in the halls and classrooms of Kheradmand High. I am convinced that we have learned many worthwhile things that will serve us well Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Graduation Speech Essay As a graduation speaker, I'm supposed to stand up here reflectively gazing out upon the few, the proud, the chosen: the Class of 2012, and point in general directions while saying the clichГ©, "Among us I see the first female president and a future congressman and the next mayor of Everett." But besides that I would never in my most vengeful moments wish those positions upon any of you, I cannot make those assertions because I am categorically against campaigns of any kind. Inspirational speaker John Bytheway said, "Success is more likely to come naturally from living life fully than by a direct and pointed campaign to achieve that long–range goal." This asserts that it's better to achieve by living deliberately than by doorbelling....show more content... We must keep our eyes on the prize, but we can't be afraid to glance around at our surroundings. Instead of being obsessed with the end, enjoy the journey. Instead of campaigning, we should concentrate on living to the fullest extent, seizing the day, each day, every day. Instead of being competitive, be compassionate. Then, win or lose, we will have gleaned something from every experience. We all know this and practice it already. In the book "The Chosen," David Malter says, "The greatest things that will ever happen in your life will often be the result of silly things, as you call them – ordinary things is a better expression." A lot of silly things happen in high school, everything from Personal Floatation Device Day to the unveiling of the Pep Potty at assemblies. Each day is certainly packed with the ordinary: tests, homework, running into doors as they swing open into the hallways. But those things add up, and sincerity and candor transform the silly and ordinary into the extraordinary. Moms and Dads, you're not on a crusade to make the centerfold of "Parenting" magazine when you pack lunches and tuck notes into the brown bags, notes that are treasured by your child, who is teased by people like me. There are those who are already pondering about what life without high school will be like; those who are debating whether or not to tell your crush tonight about your whispers of adoration you've secretly held for four years; some simply want to get out of that ungodly chair, get that thing that isn't really a diploma but only tells you when to pick up the thing, and then be the first one on the green bus to the grad party – you know who you are. Enjoy the sights and sounds of today, right now; and be aware of the mindfulness opening your senses and releasing your inhibitions can summon. Feel the tingle on your eyes; it is trying to tell you something so pay attention to it. Look, do you see it? That's anxiety, a thick and pulsating anxiety that is flowing through the air right now from person to person. It is a stream of consciousness that is multiplied in this medium only because we all have the same questions: Do I have time to go to the bathroom? When will this Asian fool shut up? Who is this guy sitting next to me and why is he so ugly? The anxiety will not die. Capture the anxiety in your mind as a visual aspect of tonight. Remember it. Let the twitch in your ear awake your emotions. Listen carefully. It's the sound of a gloomy day. What is usually a dismal tune is now replaced with the bittersweet melody of our graduation ceremony under the clouds. • 12. Graduation Speech Essay If I was asked to describe the attitude of the common high school student with one word, I would choose the word "why." We seem to be constantly questioning everything that appears out of the ordinary, anything that departs from the routine which has been established for us. We seem to be intolerant of anything that our MTV culture has declared "uncool." As we graduate from Washington High School, we must stop asking "why" and start asking "why not." We should be open to anything as we venture into what society has labeled "the real world." No longer should we limit ourselves to the same environment and small group of people we have grown accustomed to. In turn, we should no longer limit ourselves to the same view of the world. Life is...show more content... If we fail to gain these new experiences, we are merely cheating ourselves, and the world around us. Throughout high school, the majority of us have kept the same limited group of friends. We assumed that our immediate company was best suited for us and did not attempt to meet new people. We have always been asking, "why should we meet new people?", as we remain complacent with our current acquaintances. Why not attempt to find others who share your beliefs, enjoy the same hobbies, and laugh at the same jokes as you? If you never take the time to meet these new and interesting people, you very well may miss the opportunity to meet someone who will change your life. We should also take the time to understand people whom we have labeled as different and attempt to see the world from their eyes. As we go our separate ways next year, most of us will actually be forced to say "why not" and experience the company of new individuals. The more variety we include in the make up of our companions, the wider our view of the world will become. As we begin our trek into this "real world," we should take time to travel beyond this merely rhetorical "why", and truly experience the "why not." We should make it a goal to experience something new everyday. Experience something that frightens you, something that you were told you could never Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. Graduation Speech Essay Good evening everyone. My name is Toyota Moko, and I am an international student from Japan. As the first–ever international student speaker on commencement, I am very honored to be here tonight to be given this opportunity to speak on behalf of the graduating class of the 2003. Born and grew up in Tokyo where speaking English was absolutely absent in my eighteen years of life, one day the life–changing experience came to me. When I was fifteen–years–old, the summer of 1998, I came to America for the very first time for the home stay program through my high school. I still recall the very first class I took. I was so scared and nervous that I talked to the teacher to drop the class. However, I did not give up and tried to keep up with my work. In the end, it paid off and I received an A from the class. This has taught me a great lesson that your effort will not betray you. Since then for the last two years, I have made every possible effort to pursue my education so as not to take for granted this precious experience. At first, I struggled with the new educational system that demands you to think and have your own opinion. Therefore, I would always ask questions until I fully understood. I have been very fortunate to have all the great teachers who enthusiastically dedicated their time with my questions. That has brought me a successful academic achievement. Each instructor has inspired me with new perspectives and that enriched the way I see the world. As a way to give back to others, I gladly took notes for those who need help through the center for disability service. Volunteering at the Bethany nursing home for a Japanese elder woman by being a conversational partner was especially a joyful experience for this reminded me of my late grandmother who would be the same age. It seems like only yesterday we were picking our noses and flicking them at innocent bystanders or yelling childish phrases like, "Liar, liar, pants on fire!" or, wait, that was yesterday. Never mind. Anyways. What I'm trying to say is the years, have flown by and it's not going to be long before we're in the stands watching our kids graduate. You know, there is a lot more to graduating than leaving Rufus and getting a diploma. It's more than that. I mean, why do you think we get to wear these cool robes? But whichever path we take, it won't be easy and believe me, a year or two from now you're gonna wish you were back at good old LHS because the term "9 to 5" is going to take on a whole new meaning, and I'll tell you right now it ain't gonna be pretty folks. Our graduation is our coming of age, our right of passage. As we walk across this stage we are writing the closing pages to our Chapter I and heading into the great unknown. It's kinda scary –– but hey, don't you cry, even thoughhigh school is over, the times we've shared and the friends we've made will never be lost. The clock is ticking, time is fleeting and nobody lives forever. But true friendship is something we can count on never dying. I hope wherever we go in life it will be happy and even if we all move to remote island countries we can all count on the memories and laugh at all the stupid things we did. The first being that I remember my high school graduation and I couldn't tell you who spoke or how many speakers there even were; all I remember is the that person in front of me had one of the old Gameboys and was playing Tetris. Everyone was so enthralled with what the speakers were saying that a group of about 30 of my classmates were leaning in and watching him play Tetris. One of the funniest things I ever saw was a picture taken of my graduating class and seeing the right half of the graduates sitting peacefully and left half all leaning in to watch a single person play a black and white video game. Which illustrates my second point perfectly: that you don't really want to listen to me. You want to go out and prove to the rest of the world what everyone here at Bulls already knows: that no matter how many late nights or hours of perseverance it takes for you to achieve your goals, you will achieve them, and nothing can stop you. I could stand up here and rave about Bulls. That the group of people that work there is one of the most diverse and incredible groups of people I have ever had the chance to meet. But I won't because why should I waste your time telling you things you already know? In fact, I like that word so much, that I decided to look it up in the dictionary for the heck of it. And beyond the obvious definitions I found, there was one that plainly stuck out. "To change gradually". Now if you think about it, I guess that sums up all our years of schooling right there. I mean, I can still remember back to first grade and racing home to watch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesdefeat Shredder and the evil foot soldiers. Of course, Michelangelo was my favorite because he was the care–free surfer turtle that every boy dreamed of being like. When your boyfriend or girlfriend just said it's all over, your friends were there for you. When you waited until the very last moment to finish that project and needed help, your friends were there for you. And whenever you needed someone to talk with or a shoulder to cry on, your friends were always there for you. Out of all the lessons we have been taught, none are greater then the lessons we have received from our friends. Before you go today, don't let the opportunity to say one final goodbye to your fellow companions slip by. For they are the true gifts of high school that we will never forget and hold in our hearts for the rest of our lives. So now it's time to complete another phase of our "gradual change" by taking a final step away from home and into the real world. But the question is, how will we do this. Will we charge through any barriers we encounter in a relentless pursuit of our dream, or will we aimlessly walk the road of life and turn around whenever struggles come our way. It's easy for us to think of a dream, but something else to touch it. Many have gone after their goals passively and failed to ever reach the peak of the mountain they so tirelessly climbed. However, others have dedicated themselves to their dream and fought like a raging bull to see it become a reality. My challenge for us today, is to be that raging bull and climb to the top of our mountain with passion. When a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It seems with every graduating class there is a certain amount of responsibility placed on the graduates. For this year's class it is no different, in fact more has been placed on this class than any others in history. The Class of 2006 is going to shape our world for the 21st century; the Class of 2006 is going to improve our lives and our country. As a senior he not only improved on his GPA, but put countless hours helping with the senior auction, Mr. CHS, and Prom. He took the opportunity to help his school and his class. I cannot forget to mention the Key Club members who worked long hours in unpleasant weather collecting canned food to give to families in our community. These are just some examples of how students have reached out to opportunities that took them out of their comfort zone. Many of us become so comfortable in our place that we do not want to help or reach out for fear that we might lose what we already have. We become content in doing the same thing over and over again. We try to justify our reasons for not doing anything by telling ourselves that someone else will do it or by questioning our ability. What could I do? I couldn't make a difference. How selfish it is for someone who has been blessed with the talent and capabilities to just sit there and do nothing. I 've just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us. It's about us. On our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard–fought campaign. To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people. It is time. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I 'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country. As I 've said from the beginning, ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movement, made up of millions of hard–working men and women who love their country and want a better, brighter future for themselves and for their family. • 20. Graduation Speech : My Graduation Essay My Graduation A Graduation ceremony is one of the major steps in life, it marks the start of new changes in our lives. It ushers us into growing up and be responsible for our actions. It marks a new dawn of embracing life experiences, cultivation of good work ethics and eventually culminates in chasing our dreams. On my graduation day, I woke up to the sweet aroma of the breakfast my sister was making. I sat down to eat when the food was ready. It took me about 2 hours to finish bathing. I wore my African clothes (it was a slim waist top, with a curvy skirt sew with African cloth). After I was done wearing my clothes my sister tried several ways of styling my scarf so my cap could fit on my head. I had on very big braids. So the task was nearly impossible but she figured out a way to make it look very simple yet stylish. I sat down to wear my shoes, I looked at my phone and said. "Omg guys am going to be late if we don't leave this instant." Nobody replied .I went to check on my sister and she was putting on her lipstick like we had all the time in the world. All of a sudden I starting thinking, what if am late, I wouldn't be able to participate in the ceremony. I got scared my heart started racing really fast. I was in my own thoughts when all of a sudden, I heard my brother say." time to go". I smiled, and sighed I was really relieved.
