First Reason:

Second Reason: equality between employees and a good relationship
Example: the effects of moving up a higher position
Third Reason: more responsibility and creativity
Example: couldn’t make a decision by myself when I worked
Conclusion: Corporations and other businesses should choose a flat organizational structure
because of less bureaucracy, creativity, and equality between employees.
2. Business environment has been changing rapidly, so businesses and corporations should
adjust themselves today’s business environment. Traditionally, companies have many levels of
management, such as managers, managers’ assistants, secretaries, secretaries’ assistants. These
layers cause a lot of problems, such as unnecessary paperwork, inflexible decisions, and
consuming time. On the other hand, a flat organizational structure has less level of management.
There are only one manager and employees who are equal and report each other. For this reason,
I agree with the statement that a flat organizational structure is more likely to encourage
collegiality and cooperation among employees because of three reasons.
First, a flat organizational structure eliminates bureaucracy which causes consuming time
and money. Nowadays, the competition with companies has never been greater. The corporations
which have flat organizational structures have the advantage of faster decision making. For
instance, when I started working, I needed stationery equipment, and I wrote a petition to the
relevant department. However, the petition was returned to me because I had to write it to the
level above me. Consequently, employees have to follow the strict rules if companies don’t have
flat organizational structures.
Second, a flat organizational structure provides equality between employees. When each
employee has same rights, there will be a good relationship between them. In addition, the
equality reduces the employees’ jealousy. For example, after I was moved up a higher position,
my coworkers got upset because they disagreed with the decision. So, the relationship between
my coworkers was destroyed. Moreover, there were many experienced people when I started
working at the company. The decision seemed unfair for them. For this reason, creating a good
working environment requires the equality between employees.
