Make the site’s purpose obvious:
Explain who you are and what you do.
Pick your battle:
Do one thing but do it right.
Don‘t make the user think:
Provide one primary call for action.
Help Users Find What They Need:
Make the moste relevant content
accessible.
Keep users always informed about
what is going on:
Through appropriate feedback within
reasonable time.

Give users what they want –
And a little more:
Leave a positive impression in which you
exceed the expectations of the user.
Make the information easy to digest:
Break the text up into smaller segments
and use plenty of sub-headings.
Don‘t distract the user from the main
goal:
Place ads only necessary and if beneficial.
Stay consistent and use
standard elements:
Users should not have to wonder whether
different words, situations, or actions
mean the same thing.
Be Authentic
People sense if something is real or not.
Effective user testing isn‘t extensive
nor expensive.
Five users reveal 85% of all problems.
15 users would find pretty much
all problems.
And any testing is still better than no
testing!
Conclusion
Work less with assumptions,
do more user testing.

  • 16. Keep users always informed about what is going on: Through appropriate feedback within reasonable time.
  • 18. Give users what they want – And a little more: Leave a positive impression in which you exceed the expectations of the user.

  • 21. Make the information easy to digest: Break the text up into smaller segments and use plenty of sub-headings.

  • 24. Don‘t distract the user from the main goal: Place ads only necessary and if beneficial.

  • 27. Stay consistent and use standard elements: Users should not have to wonder whether different words, situations, or actions mean the same thing.

  • 34. Effective user testing isn‘t extensive nor expensive. Five users reveal 85% of all problems. 15 users would find pretty much all problems. And any testing is still better than no testing!
