Importance of Punctuality
Importance of Punctuality
Punctuality is the habit of doing things exactly in time. A punctual person in most cases will be a
winner everywhere. A person who is punctual is always one step ahead of others. If one does not
work promptly and punctually it is bound to have a negative impact of various aspects of one's life.
Punctuality is essential for man in every walk of life and the same time it is fundamentally instilled in
the character of every successful man too. For students it is a great blessing. If we are punctual we
will get enough time to do our work according to our plan. Punctuality is inevitable everywhere. In

Punctuality being so important in life, it is necessary for every man to cultivate this habit from the
very beginning. Once we are punctual, our labors will be lightened, our mind disciplined and our
life will be much easier and brighter. Being on time, every time, conveys far more than just a good
sense of timing. It tells people that you're on top of things, that you're organized, that you can be
counted on, that you value them, and, ultimately, that you value yourself.
However, for the not so punctual, often referred to as 'tardy', many measures can be taken to
improve and be rid of this habit. The first step is admitting to the problem of being late. Everything
suffers right from relationships to work. It is then important to find solutions to get rid of the
problem by adopting certain measures. Some steps I think that would help many, including me, are
as follows:
Always keeping a watch at hand.
Keeping a watch in every room.
Waking up early in the morning.
Making a timetable for routines and stick to it.
Planning events early. Do not wait for the last moment.
Maintaining a diary of events, to observe improvement.
Observing where time is lost and trying to correct it.
Thus, in my future endeavours, I shall try to the best of my ability to reach on time and the follow

What Are Your Main Strengths
What are your main strengths?Punctuality, adaptability, precision and organisation. These are the
strengths I possess, and the qualities that I believe will allow me to excel in this field of work. I
understand that being punctual is crucial when working in a warehouse and distribution setting.
Arranging deliveries with couriers takes tight time keeping abilities, where forward–planning is key.
I would describe myself as having a strong work ethic; I am enthusiastic and dedicated to put in
the time and work that is necessary to achieve the task at hand. I also have a lot of motivation to
succeed. As an example, during college four students and I were assigned to do a group presentation
within a three week deadline. I assigned each of my partners...show more content...
This ties into the heavy labour involved in this job; I believe that adapting to physical strain will
not be an issue for me as I am regularly lifting weights at my gym and pushing limits. I also enjoy
reading books on on areas focusing on philosophy and history as I believe that some of the
experiences and thought patterns of past leaders are still relevant, and can apply to daily life in
today's current society. I generally revel in understanding and learning in depth. My favourite
author is Robert Greene, because his books are seldom one sided and cover a range of topics
such as history, leadership and relationships. His Mastery novel is of great value to me, as it
teaches you to find your life calling and stop at nothing on the road to greatness in your career. I
believe that the books I read on the philosophies of human nature and social interaction broadens
my awareness of different temperaments people go through. This helps me have a level of
empathy and rapport with the people I have relationships with. I believe that interpersonal skills
take priority in every job, because we are all part of a team working towards the same

Punctuality In The Military Essay
Punctuality is a concept that is held to a different standard in every culture in the world. In
Switzerland, for example, the train schedule is almost to the second. If a commuter is even thirty
seconds late for the train, it will have already departed. On the other hand, in Italy, which is right
next door to Switzerland, the train schedules are quite a bit more relaxed. If a train is not posting
delayed warnings, it almost comes as a surprise. However, there is one cultural norm that all
peoples across the globe can agree upon: respect. Being respectful to our peers, superiors, and
subordinates, is an extremely important part of the Army lifestyle. One way that we show this
respect is through an even more disciplined version of punctuality...show more content...
Building a culture of respect and regard for another's time is important in every level of
relationships in the military, seniors, peers, and subordinates. Being punctual is a sign of excellent
leadership, as well as a sign for the potential for more responsibility and leadership opportunities.
Timeliness is a key part of self–development. Being self–disciplined can lead to building a better
personal life for oneself, and being on time in your daily activities is a good opportunity to put
self–discipline in to action. Finally, timeliness is an important aspect of the military community that
non–military personnel respect and admire. Maintaining that imagery and persona of a military

16 Aug 2017 The importance of time management, punctuality, and accountability.
In 2001, a CareerBuilder survey reported that a total of 15 percent of American workers were late at
least once per week. When lateness does occur, its effects are felt and spread throughout the
workplace. Though the importance of time management, punctuality, and accountability may seem
obvious, the impact in reality has quite a few shrewd layers. Including its effects on the individual
just as much as its effects on the workplace as a whole.
Punctuality conveys an excess of positive thoughts to your leaders and co–workers. It shows them
that you are ready for the day ahead of you no matter what. It also tells...show more content...
When a leader is late or absent from work, it can send mixed messages to his employees or
soldiers, which may lower moral. On the other hand, when a leader is punctual, it shows a hard
work ethic that will make the employees aspire to be like that individual.
Lateness will lead to stress of getting into trouble, stress will lead to poor performance in your
place of work. After you begin to be consistently late to work you will start to rationalize why
you're late. When this begins to happen, people tend to start blaming everyone and everything else
instead of focusing on possible solutions to the actual problem. Eventually you will see a pattern
and you'll be stuck in it, and when that becomes normal to you your job will be in danger. Diana
DeLonzer states that ten minutes of being late over the course of an entire year will end up costing
you the equivalency of one week's paid vacation.
I once read that George Washington's passion for punctuality was born from his early study of "The
Rules of Civility" – his repeated copying of maxims like "Undertake not what you cannot perform
but be careful to keep your promise." For George Washington, being on time was a way of showing
respect to others, and he expected to be treated with the same level of respect in return.
Although we may no longer live in a time of knickers and powdered wigs like George Washington,
being punctual is just as if not more than important as it

Speech On Punctuality
Punctuality
In today's business society punctuality matters a lot. Being punctual tells a lot about you. It tells
individuals that you're in control, that you're sorted out, that you can be depended on, that you
admire them and at last, that you admire yourself.
Punctuality shows mastery
Being punctual reliably demonstrates that you are the master of your life. It shows prescience the
capacity to foresee conceivable hang–ups and flexibility the capacity to amend your plans to suit
those hang–ups.
Punctuality shows integrity
Punctuality is also a trust matter. When you make an arrangement, you are making a promise to be
there on time on the place where you said. The main way you develop other individuals' trust in you
is by reliably meeting your duties, and...show more content...
Too busy to possibly be looking out for you while their other work goes incomplete. Being reliable
shows genuinely, that you esteem their precious time and by augmentation that you esteem them as
a person. It says, "We should make this time we've prepared as beneficial as conceivable so we can
both get on with all our other imperative stuff."
Punctuality shows you value yourself
At last, being on time indicates you esteem your opportunity and value yourself. As a matter of first
importance, being more than once late is an imprudent manner. What else would you risk to not get
the enormous customer, losing your career, or offending people around you? Also, everybody
realizes that most imprudent act takes after from low confidence. Regardless of whether it's not
accurate, that is the perception you're permitting others.
To be punctual one should always manage the time and always should work according to a plan. By
adjusting the daily routings people can figure out what exactly should be done first and what next,
what are the things that make you prevent from getting on time.one should always make punctuality

The Importance of being Punctual
Although the United States is not the only society that places a high regard on being on time,
Americans in particular it would seem have been criticized in the past for being a highly
time–oriented people, and some other cultures may not place the same level of importance on being
punctual as exists in the United States today. This sense of being tied to a clock may strike some
observers from other cultures as being downright psychotic, but the fact remains that the importance
of being on time is an enormously important part of the American value system and it would be
reasonable to suggest that this will not change. In addition, people who fail to be on time...show more

Many times there are situations where we cannot make it to our appointed place in time, and in that
instance, many situations are excusable until you abuse your privilege and your tardiness becomes
habitual. An easy alternative that involves little to no repercussions is to make a simple phone call
to your immediate supervisor or someone you can rely on to relay the information for you. This is
where the integrity and responsibility comes into play hand and hand. If you're running late and
you cannot get in touch with your direct supervisor or his or her assistant, and the only person you
can reach is the guy who is regularly late, then how can you possibly trust that he will relay the
message of your absence?
Punctuality is inevitable everywhere. In business also this is very important. If you want to be a
successful businessman, you have to be very particular in being punctual. The failure to keep up an

important. Yes, there are many points that are repeated at every formation which I have heard
many times but there are often certain things that are stressed some weekends more than others
due to situations that have been occurring around the barracks. There are many other examples I
could use of special formations and/or places to be but overall the point is the same, it is very
important to be at the right place at the right time in the right uniform. This is all part of a larger
learning experience because when I go downrange being late becomes more than a matter of
disciplinary action or writing an essay, it becomes a matter of life and death. There will be
situations that arise that require me to be punctual or put my battle buddies and my own life in

Importance Of Punctuality In The Army
Life of a soldier is run by strict set of rules that every soldier is compelled to follow right from the
beginning of their army training. Some of the most important maxims of army life include, being
punctual, always prepared and of course, being able to manage your time in an effective manner.
These maxims are strictly followed in the army and if a soldier fails to meet anyone of these
maxims then he or she can be punished according to the American military's Uniform Code of
Military Justice (UCMJ). However, these qualities are respected in a man regardless of their
profession in life. Being punctual in your job, prepared for your meeting and managing your time
can improve your relations with others and pave way for your success. Punctuality in the Army A
soldier is always expected to be on time, being late can be problematic not only for him but also
for his brothers in arms. The reason army lays such great importance to punctuality is because
when the soldier has to enter the real life battlefield then there is no relaxation for laziness. Even
a minute late to a specific rally point can be the difference between life and death. Consider a
situation where a soldier has to provide supporting fire to cover for his friend, if the soldier does to
not strictly obey time then there is a good chance that his friend would be in life threatening trouble.
The army has a set of rules in place to ensure that the quality of punctuality is integrated into the

Reflection On Punctuality
Introduction:
I believe that children often resemble their parents and pick up on their best and worst qualities.
That is truly the case for me as I picked up on most of my mom's qualities and a couple from my
dad, whether they be good or bad. For example, from my mom, I picked up some good qualities,
such as wanting to be clean and organized, always being polite to others and never leaving tasks to
the last minute. However, I also picked up some bad ones, such as nagging and overreacting to
situations. From my dad, I picked up never being late and being a perfectionist.
Event:
My mom and dad are almost the same people when it comes to organization and getting errands
done right and on time. My dad was in the Airforce in India, so that is where he gets his quality of
being a perfectionist and never being late. When you are in the army, you must be an individual who
knows how to be punctual. Through this experience, my dad has been implementing this idea of
punctuality into our lives since we were young and into my mom's life since they were married.
Exploration:
Since my dad has been trying to adjust us to his lifestyle since we were young, it has stuck to us
now when we are older too. He did small things like making sure our watches were a couple minutes
ahead, so we always arrive earlier to where we need to be. Whenever we went places with our family
together, there was rarely a time we would be late. There was a set time to finish getting ready and if
we were

assortment of funny punctuation errors that are quite generic.
Avoid Funny Punctuation Mistakes with the Apostrophe
In proper English grammar, apostrophes are used to show an abbreviation or ownership. Below is an
explanation on how to avoid making funny punctuation mistakes when using the apostrophe.

Finding results for a punctuation or grammar query makes the writer confident enough to correct the
misspelled word into the given suggestion or search for a better one. This also goes true when you
check punctuation marks on the internet.
Use Punctuation Marks Checker for Commas
Punctuation marks checker must be constantly use to check for comma placement mistakes. Take
note that in an introductory sentence, a comma must separate the introductory phrase from the other
parts of the sentence. If a group of words is present at the beginning of a sentence that gives more
information separate them with a comma.
Example: Before going to sleep, he went out to check if the door is closed.
Use commas between all words in a series even before the coordinating conjunction
Example: During Christmas, mother cooked pot roast chicken, potato salad, and lemon cream

Punctuality And The American Capitalist Mentality
"Strict punctuality is perhaps the cheapest virtue which can give force to an otherwise utterly
insignificant character." (J.F. Boyes) Punctuality is one of the cornerstones of the American
Capitalist mindset. From birth, being on time is constantly stressed as a necessary skill that is
needed to truly be successful in the world. Lateness is not a tolerated from school, work, and even
outings with friends. Even for the most loyal friend and employee chronic failure to arrive on time
could lead to the demise of a relationship with the other party. No matter the excuse or reason
"Lateness is defined as arriving at a setting after the start of a scheduled event." (Harrison and
Price 2003, p.205). Consequently immediately after the event starts or it passes the time someone
either agreed or was told to be somewhere they are late. Mastery of this skill is not easily achieved
which is self–evident, as a majority of the population knows someone who is never on time, or
may even be that individual themselves. Unfortunately people who are constantly late have a bad
stigma associated with themselves. Adjectives like rude, inconsiderate, and lazy are constantly
being thrown in their direction. Though the blame may be of no fault of their own. What causes
this pattern of disregard for the strict standards everyone else listens to that time places? Ranging
from early, on time, and late, the classification time sets on an arrival leaves little room for error if
one still hopes to still be

Essay on The Importance of Punctuality
Being punctual is important for numerous reasons, all of which can be applied to both military
and civilian life, as well as your work life and social life. I think it is important because it shows
that you have respect for others. If someone is consistently late to events it shows others around
them that they have little or no respect for others and their time. Time is a valuable thing and it
should be viewed as such. If a person has commitments and responsibilities involving others, they
should realize that others time is just as important as their own. Someone that is consistently late
shows others that they believe their time is more valuable than others. Also by being late a person
disrupts all the others involved in the event, which...show more content...
As someone new to our company I should have considered this. My actions have set a negative
impression of myself for my fellow soldiers and my NCOs'. Instead of being viewed in a good
light it may be possible that I am seen as someone that is irresponsible and undependable. If I am
unable to manage my time effectively and be on time, others may have the impression that I am
not responsible enough to do my job efficiently and correctly. In turn that impression could affect
my career for a long period of time. Along with being respectful and responsible, being on time
also means that you are more likely to know what is going on. Most of the time, the beginning of a
meeting or a formation for that matter may be used to put out important information. Information in
which leaders think is pertinent. If someone is late to a formation or meeting they run the risk of
not getting the information put out or getting a misconstrued version from a fellow person.
Without proper information that person is more likely to be late again and again starting a cycle
that may be hard to break. As someone in the military this is something that should be avoided. A
cycle of not being in the right place at the right time could lead to punishment such as UCMJ, extra
duty, and in some scenarios a separation from the army. Being on time also sets a good example for
others, if someone is late without

Punctuality: Monochronic And Polychronic Culture
Punctuality : Monochronic and Polychronic Culture Marissa Gross BT Halim Help University
One of the cultures depicted in the video included a country without clocks. This raises the
question, how are people ever on time? In most of the western culture, punctuality is a social norm.
It is easy to assume that the whole world views the concept of being punctual similarly, despite
having a few minor alterations. For example, Malaysia's idea of punctuality, or also known to locals
as 'Malaysian Time' is a concept where people are still considered punctual, even if they are slightly
late. Now, after extensive research, it turns out that it's not just 'Malaysian Time ', but there actually

The mono–chronic culture regards time as linear, lateness and interruptions are not tolerated and
people do one thing at a time, whereas the poly–chronic culture views time as cyclical, interruptions
are acceptable and punctuality does not matter (Daily Telegraph, 1999). Since the polychronic
culture is rather different from the western view on punctuality, we shall further discuss it. Business
Mexico (2002) described people from polychronic cultures as more productive due to the fact that
they are able to multitask and deal with multiple problems at one time. Hence polychronic people
have an easier time adapting to jobs which require to be able to do a multiple things a the same time,

there and to perform not only for yourself, but for your fellow soldiers as well. When a unit has a
soldier that does not appear to want to be there, it can severally affect its morale and overall
performance. Not to mention the time that is lost in training and dealing with the concerns and
needs of other soldiers when a leader has to take the time out of their day in order to deal with the
problems of just one. It is unfair to all others involved when these circumstances arise and vital time
is taken from those who are doing the right thing.
Seeing one soldier being treated differently, weather this treatment be positive or negative, sets this
soldier apart from the rest. This difference in treatment further undermines that unit's esprit de corps
and cohesion. And if this happens that unit's loyalty can begin to be tested not only amongst them,
but can also undermine that unit's leader who has to spend so much of his and her time dealing with
that unit's only trouble spot.
Every soldier has a responsibility to be there for everything that his or her unit goes through, no

Punctuality Punctuality is a very important part of military life for several reasons. one reason is
that if someone is late for a patrol or convoy that patrol or convoy might haveto leave without that
person. Another reason is because it will make whoever your relieving have to stay at work for
longer than they are supposed to, tired and sluggish because of that fact, giving a high chance
that whatever work that person does would be sub par and not up to standards because of lack of
sleep. Punctuality also shows your chain of command that you are serious about your job and are
ready and motivated to do said job to the best of your ability. Being late to a convoy could lead to
dire consequences. not to you but to your battle...show more content...
Said soldiers professionalism and work ethic would start to slip due to lack of sleep because you
couldnt keep to a schedule that was set by your NCO's. It would be your fault that your battle
can't perform his duties to the best of his ability. Your battle buddies credability could also start to
slip in the eyes of your chain of command because of lack of motivation or professionalism at
work. Being Punctual shows your chain of command that you are dependable. they can count on
you to follow orders and be where you are supposed to be at the right place at the right time.
Doing this lead to them trusting you with a little more responsibility as time goes on. being late
however shows them that you can not be relied on to do anything if you cant even be somewhere
on time. being on time is the easiest thing to do in the military andif you cant even do that how is
your chain of command supposed to trust you with anything else? Being punctual also shows your
chain of command that you have the discipline to be somewhere when you are supposed to.
Having the discipline to follow orders shows them as you spend more time in the military that just
maybe your ready for that next promotion or to be put in to go to the board so you can become an
NCO yourself. On the other hand not being punctual shows them that you have no discipline, which
makes them have to limit the things you are allowed to do even when your off duty for the day
because if they cant trust you to be

Essay On Punctuality

  • 1. Importance of Punctuality Importance of Punctuality Punctuality is the habit of doing things exactly in time. A punctual person in most cases will be a winner everywhere. A person who is punctual is always one step ahead of others. If one does not work promptly and punctually it is bound to have a negative impact of various aspects of one's life. Punctuality is essential for man in every walk of life and the same time it is fundamentally instilled in the character of every successful man too. For students it is a great blessing. If we are punctual we will get enough time to do our work according to our plan. Punctuality is inevitable everywhere. In business it is equally, if not, more important. If we want to be successful entrepreneurs and managers, we have...show more content... Punctuality being so important in life, it is necessary for every man to cultivate this habit from the very beginning. Once we are punctual, our labors will be lightened, our mind disciplined and our life will be much easier and brighter. Being on time, every time, conveys far more than just a good sense of timing. It tells people that you're on top of things, that you're organized, that you can be counted on, that you value them, and, ultimately, that you value yourself. However, for the not so punctual, often referred to as 'tardy', many measures can be taken to improve and be rid of this habit. The first step is admitting to the problem of being late. Everything suffers right from relationships to work. It is then important to find solutions to get rid of the problem by adopting certain measures. Some steps I think that would help many, including me, are as follows: Always keeping a watch at hand. Keeping a watch in every room. Waking up early in the morning. Making a timetable for routines and stick to it. Planning events early. Do not wait for the last moment. Maintaining a diary of events, to observe improvement. Observing where time is lost and trying to correct it. Thus, in my future endeavours, I shall try to the best of my ability to reach on time and the follow the path of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. What Are Your Main Strengths What are your main strengths?Punctuality, adaptability, precision and organisation. These are the strengths I possess, and the qualities that I believe will allow me to excel in this field of work. I understand that being punctual is crucial when working in a warehouse and distribution setting. Arranging deliveries with couriers takes tight time keeping abilities, where forward–planning is key. I would describe myself as having a strong work ethic; I am enthusiastic and dedicated to put in the time and work that is necessary to achieve the task at hand. I also have a lot of motivation to succeed. As an example, during college four students and I were assigned to do a group presentation within a three week deadline. I assigned each of my partners...show more content... This ties into the heavy labour involved in this job; I believe that adapting to physical strain will not be an issue for me as I am regularly lifting weights at my gym and pushing limits. I also enjoy reading books on on areas focusing on philosophy and history as I believe that some of the experiences and thought patterns of past leaders are still relevant, and can apply to daily life in today's current society. I generally revel in understanding and learning in depth. My favourite author is Robert Greene, because his books are seldom one sided and cover a range of topics such as history, leadership and relationships. His Mastery novel is of great value to me, as it teaches you to find your life calling and stop at nothing on the road to greatness in your career. I believe that the books I read on the philosophies of human nature and social interaction broadens my awareness of different temperaments people go through. This helps me have a level of empathy and rapport with the people I have relationships with. I believe that interpersonal skills take priority in every job, because we are all part of a team working towards the same Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Punctuality In The Military Essay Punctuality is a concept that is held to a different standard in every culture in the world. In Switzerland, for example, the train schedule is almost to the second. If a commuter is even thirty seconds late for the train, it will have already departed. On the other hand, in Italy, which is right next door to Switzerland, the train schedules are quite a bit more relaxed. If a train is not posting delayed warnings, it almost comes as a surprise. However, there is one cultural norm that all peoples across the globe can agree upon: respect. Being respectful to our peers, superiors, and subordinates, is an extremely important part of the Army lifestyle. One way that we show this respect is through an even more disciplined version of punctuality...show more content... Building a culture of respect and regard for another's time is important in every level of relationships in the military, seniors, peers, and subordinates. Being punctual is a sign of excellent leadership, as well as a sign for the potential for more responsibility and leadership opportunities. Timeliness is a key part of self–development. Being self–disciplined can lead to building a better personal life for oneself, and being on time in your daily activities is a good opportunity to put self–discipline in to action. Finally, timeliness is an important aspect of the military community that non–military personnel respect and admire. Maintaining that imagery and persona of a military member can lead to great opportunities outside of the military. Clearly, punctuality is key to being a better Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Time Management Fauci Matthew R 16 Aug 2017 The importance of time management, punctuality, and accountability. In 2001, a CareerBuilder survey reported that a total of 15 percent of American workers were late at least once per week. When lateness does occur, its effects are felt and spread throughout the workplace. Though the importance of time management, punctuality, and accountability may seem obvious, the impact in reality has quite a few shrewd layers. Including its effects on the individual just as much as its effects on the workplace as a whole. Punctuality conveys an excess of positive thoughts to your leaders and co–workers. It shows them that you are ready for the day ahead of you no matter what. It also tells...show more content... When a leader is late or absent from work, it can send mixed messages to his employees or soldiers, which may lower moral. On the other hand, when a leader is punctual, it shows a hard work ethic that will make the employees aspire to be like that individual. Lateness will lead to stress of getting into trouble, stress will lead to poor performance in your place of work. After you begin to be consistently late to work you will start to rationalize why you're late. When this begins to happen, people tend to start blaming everyone and everything else instead of focusing on possible solutions to the actual problem. Eventually you will see a pattern and you'll be stuck in it, and when that becomes normal to you your job will be in danger. Diana DeLonzer states that ten minutes of being late over the course of an entire year will end up costing you the equivalency of one week's paid vacation. I once read that George Washington's passion for punctuality was born from his early study of "The Rules of Civility" – his repeated copying of maxims like "Undertake not what you cannot perform but be careful to keep your promise." For George Washington, being on time was a way of showing respect to others, and he expected to be treated with the same level of respect in return. Although we may no longer live in a time of knickers and powdered wigs like George Washington, being punctual is just as if not more than important as it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Speech On Punctuality Punctuality In today's business society punctuality matters a lot. Being punctual tells a lot about you. It tells individuals that you're in control, that you're sorted out, that you can be depended on, that you admire them and at last, that you admire yourself. Punctuality shows mastery Being punctual reliably demonstrates that you are the master of your life. It shows prescience the capacity to foresee conceivable hang–ups and flexibility the capacity to amend your plans to suit those hang–ups. Punctuality shows integrity Punctuality is also a trust matter. When you make an arrangement, you are making a promise to be there on time on the place where you said. The main way you develop other individuals' trust in you is by reliably meeting your duties, and...show more content... Too busy to possibly be looking out for you while their other work goes incomplete. Being reliable shows genuinely, that you esteem their precious time and by augmentation that you esteem them as a person. It says, "We should make this time we've prepared as beneficial as conceivable so we can both get on with all our other imperative stuff." Punctuality shows you value yourself At last, being on time indicates you esteem your opportunity and value yourself. As a matter of first importance, being more than once late is an imprudent manner. What else would you risk to not get the enormous customer, losing your career, or offending people around you? Also, everybody realizes that most imprudent act takes after from low confidence. Regardless of whether it's not accurate, that is the perception you're permitting others. To be punctual one should always manage the time and always should work according to a plan. By adjusting the daily routings people can figure out what exactly should be done first and what next, what are the things that make you prevent from getting on time.one should always make punctuality a priority Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Being Habitual Research Paper First Lt/CMAA ABHAN Chadwick, Rebecca, D The Importance of being Punctual Although the United States is not the only society that places a high regard on being on time, Americans in particular it would seem have been criticized in the past for being a highly time–oriented people, and some other cultures may not place the same level of importance on being punctual as exists in the United States today. This sense of being tied to a clock may strike some observers from other cultures as being downright psychotic, but the fact remains that the importance of being on time is an enormously important part of the American value system and it would be reasonable to suggest that this will not change. In addition, people who fail to be on time...show more content... Many times there are situations where we cannot make it to our appointed place in time, and in that instance, many situations are excusable until you abuse your privilege and your tardiness becomes habitual. An easy alternative that involves little to no repercussions is to make a simple phone call to your immediate supervisor or someone you can rely on to relay the information for you. This is where the integrity and responsibility comes into play hand and hand. If you're running late and you cannot get in touch with your direct supervisor or his or her assistant, and the only person you can reach is the guy who is regularly late, then how can you possibly trust that he will relay the message of your absence? Punctuality is inevitable everywhere. In business also this is very important. If you want to be a successful businessman, you have to be very particular in being punctual. The failure to keep up an engagement punctually may mean a setback for his business. If we study the lives of our great men, we find that punctuality was one of the secrets of their success in life. The necessity of doing our work punctually should be felt more keenly because we live today in a complicated society where each work is dependent on the other. The smooth working of the modern world is due to an increasing recognition of the necessity of doing our work punctually. • 7. There are many aspects of being a soldier, a soldier must have certain attributes and skill to maintain an everyday army lifestyle. They must not be lacking in any one of the attributes required. Punctuality and responsibility are among two of the most important attributes any one soldier must have. Punctuality is the ability to be at the right place in the right time in the right uniform. On any one day in the United States Army a soldier will be required to be at a certain place at a certain time in a certain uniform several times each day. The first example would be PT formation. Every day at PT formation prior to conducting PRT several important things happen. First of all, all soldiers are accounted for. This is important to make...show more content... I must admit that there are many things that I would rather do than walk up to battalion formation, late, during sergeant majors safety briefing. I'm sure I don't have to explain the kind of hell being late to that formation would bring me. On top of that safety briefings are extremely important. Yes, there are many points that are repeated at every formation which I have heard many times but there are often certain things that are stressed some weekends more than others due to situations that have been occurring around the barracks. There are many other examples I could use of special formations and/or places to be but overall the point is the same, it is very important to be at the right place at the right time in the right uniform. This is all part of a larger learning experience because when I go downrange being late becomes more than a matter of disciplinary action or writing an essay, it becomes a matter of life and death. There will be situations that arise that require me to be punctual or put my battle buddies and my own life in jeopardy. Having said that I understand the importance of being punctual. I know that there are many more measures I must take in order to create the littlest possibility of me being late because to be a successful soldier in the United States Army I must always be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Importance Of Punctuality In The Army Life of a soldier is run by strict set of rules that every soldier is compelled to follow right from the beginning of their army training. Some of the most important maxims of army life include, being punctual, always prepared and of course, being able to manage your time in an effective manner. These maxims are strictly followed in the army and if a soldier fails to meet anyone of these maxims then he or she can be punished according to the American military's Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). However, these qualities are respected in a man regardless of their profession in life. Being punctual in your job, prepared for your meeting and managing your time can improve your relations with others and pave way for your success. Punctuality in the Army A soldier is always expected to be on time, being late can be problematic not only for him but also for his brothers in arms. The reason army lays such great importance to punctuality is because when the soldier has to enter the real life battlefield then there is no relaxation for laziness. Even a minute late to a specific rally point can be the difference between life and death. Consider a situation where a soldier has to provide supporting fire to cover for his friend, if the soldier does to not strictly obey time then there is a good chance that his friend would be in life threatening trouble. The army has a set of rules in place to ensure that the quality of punctuality is integrated into the personalities of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Reflection On Punctuality Introduction: I believe that children often resemble their parents and pick up on their best and worst qualities. That is truly the case for me as I picked up on most of my mom's qualities and a couple from my dad, whether they be good or bad. For example, from my mom, I picked up some good qualities, such as wanting to be clean and organized, always being polite to others and never leaving tasks to the last minute. However, I also picked up some bad ones, such as nagging and overreacting to situations. From my dad, I picked up never being late and being a perfectionist. Event: My mom and dad are almost the same people when it comes to organization and getting errands done right and on time. My dad was in the Airforce in India, so that is where he gets his quality of being a perfectionist and never being late. When you are in the army, you must be an individual who knows how to be punctual. Through this experience, my dad has been implementing this idea of punctuality into our lives since we were young and into my mom's life since they were married. Exploration: Since my dad has been trying to adjust us to his lifestyle since we were young, it has stuck to us now when we are older too. He did small things like making sure our watches were a couple minutes ahead, so we always arrive earlier to where we need to be. Whenever we went places with our family together, there was rarely a time we would be late. There was a set time to finish getting ready and if we were Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 11. Punctuality And The American Capitalist Mentality "Strict punctuality is perhaps the cheapest virtue which can give force to an otherwise utterly insignificant character." (J.F. Boyes) Punctuality is one of the cornerstones of the American Capitalist mindset. From birth, being on time is constantly stressed as a necessary skill that is needed to truly be successful in the world. Lateness is not a tolerated from school, work, and even outings with friends. Even for the most loyal friend and employee chronic failure to arrive on time could lead to the demise of a relationship with the other party. No matter the excuse or reason "Lateness is defined as arriving at a setting after the start of a scheduled event." (Harrison and Price 2003, p.205). Consequently immediately after the event starts or it passes the time someone either agreed or was told to be somewhere they are late. Mastery of this skill is not easily achieved which is self–evident, as a majority of the population knows someone who is never on time, or may even be that individual themselves. Unfortunately people who are constantly late have a bad stigma associated with themselves. Adjectives like rude, inconsiderate, and lazy are constantly being thrown in their direction. • 12. Essay on The Importance of Punctuality Being punctual is important for numerous reasons, all of which can be applied to both military and civilian life, as well as your work life and social life. I think it is important because it shows that you have respect for others. If someone is consistently late to events it shows others around them that they have little or no respect for others and their time. Time is a valuable thing and it should be viewed as such. If a person has commitments and responsibilities involving others, they should realize that others time is just as important as their own. Someone that is consistently late shows others that they believe their time is more valuable than others. Also by being late a person disrupts all the others involved in the event, which...show more content... As someone new to our company I should have considered this. My actions have set a negative impression of myself for my fellow soldiers and my NCOs'. Instead of being viewed in a good light it may be possible that I am seen as someone that is irresponsible and undependable. If I am unable to manage my time effectively and be on time, others may have the impression that I am not responsible enough to do my job efficiently and correctly. In turn that impression could affect my career for a long period of time. Along with being respectful and responsible, being on time also means that you are more likely to know what is going on. Most of the time, the beginning of a meeting or a formation for that matter may be used to put out important information. Information in which leaders think is pertinent. If someone is late to a formation or meeting they run the risk of not getting the information put out or getting a misconstrued version from a fellow person. Without proper information that person is more likely to be late again and again starting a cycle that may be hard to break. As someone in the military this is something that should be avoided. A cycle of not being in the right place at the right time could lead to punishment such as UCMJ, extra duty, and in some scenarios a separation from the army. Being on time also sets a good example for others, if someone is late without Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Punctuality: Monochronic And Polychronic Culture Punctuality : Monochronic and Polychronic Culture Marissa Gross BT Halim Help University One of the cultures depicted in the video included a country without clocks. This raises the question, how are people ever on time? In most of the western culture, punctuality is a social norm. It is easy to assume that the whole world views the concept of being punctual similarly, despite having a few minor alterations. For example, Malaysia's idea of punctuality, or also known to locals as 'Malaysian Time' is a concept where people are still considered punctual, even if they are slightly late. Now, after extensive research, it turns out that it's not just 'Malaysian Time ', but there actually is a distinct grouping of cultures based on a specific countries idea of punctuality....show more content... The mono–chronic culture regards time as linear, lateness and interruptions are not tolerated and people do one thing at a time, whereas the poly–chronic culture views time as cyclical, interruptions are acceptable and punctuality does not matter (Daily Telegraph, 1999). Since the polychronic culture is rather different from the western view on punctuality, we shall further discuss it. Business Mexico (2002) described people from polychronic cultures as more productive due to the fact that they are able to multitask and deal with multiple problems at one time. Hence polychronic people have an easier time adapting to jobs which require to be able to do a multiple things a the same time, for instance interpreters who listen to one language and then speak in another (Business Mexico, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Not to mention the time that is lost in training and dealing with the concerns and needs of other soldiers when a leader has to take the time out of their day in order to deal with the problems of just one. It is unfair to all others involved when these circumstances arise and vital time is taken from those who are doing the right thing. Seeing one soldier being treated differently, weather this treatment be positive or negative, sets this soldier apart from the rest. This difference in treatment further undermines that unit's esprit de corps and cohesion. And if this happens that unit's loyalty can begin to be tested not only amongst them, but can also undermine that unit's leader who has to spend so much of his and her time dealing with that unit's only trouble spot.
