Cucumber ( Cucumis Sativus ) Is Part Of The Cucurbitaceae...
Throughout the world there are a large range of fruit and vegetables being produced and supplied to consumers, these
products have to meet harvesting standards to ensure good quality. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is part of the
cucurbitaceae family, is also a short day plant and originated from India. In 2012 the world produced 65,134.08 million
kilos, this was a new all time high. China produces 48,000 million kilos, this is 73% of the worlds production (Fresh
Plaza, 2014). Cucumbers are generally grown indoors in a hydroponic system when grown commercially this is a lot
more efficient as the environment can be controlled, this will help ensure growers are supplying quality cucumbers for
consumers, this will also help with profitability. There are high standards that need to be met when growing cucumbers
commercially starting from the seed all the way to the harvesting of the cucumber. The most important part is in the
early stages as this helps ensure good establishment and good foundations to give the crop the best chance of producing
good quality, high yield vegetable crop.
In a natural environment temperature is always changing, sometimes not for the better, but in an indoor hydroponic
system this can be controlled. Temperature is very important when growing cucumbers as they love heat, this can have a
huge impact on the quality and total yield of the crop. Being indoors really helps decrease the amount of bacteria,
viruses, parasites and fungi as rainfall is unable to

TARGET MARKET
The process of breaking down the total market for a product or services into distinct sub groups or segments, where
each segment might represent a distinct target market to be reached with a distinctive marketing mix. The bases of
segmentation are demographics, geographic, psychographic and behavioral.
SUBWAY Segmentations
Age group–(18–39), Income Level–(c1), Healthy Life style, Urban Area, Halal sandwiches, Kid's meals, Worldwide
locations
SUBWAY is always improving their geographic segmentation from their early developing age. By studying SUBWAY's

Marketers do targeting for segmented markers. Year 2003 SUBWAY improves the nutritional content of its Kids meal
by switching the carbonated soft drink to a juice box and changing from a high calorie cookie to fruit roll up fruit snack
that is high in vitamin C. Many of the Kids Pak toys are now designed to inspire physical activity; the website includes
a resource for parents striving to manage their children's diet and exercise levels. Parents and children can also ask Jared
Fogle about how he lost his weight or how they can incorporate fun exercises into their daily life.
The increase in sales of the sandwiches has been a result of decrease in consumer interest in hamburgers and fries and
increases in demand for healthier options. Sales of sandwiches are growing 15 percent annually, outpacing the 3 percent
sales growth rate for burgers and steaks. SUBWAY target virgin international markets using their strong brand.
POSITIONING
Positioning is all about "perception". It refers the customer's perception of a product or service in relation to its
competitors. SUBWAY positioning their products by continuing to build the brand on the "freshness" platform. The
SUBWAY chain is expanding its universe of potential customers as a place for "TASTY" and "HEALTHY" food. The
positioning, communicated via an effective advertising campaign, will serve to make SUBWAY chain part of customers'
everyday consideration set. For example,

Observation of Children at Play and Work
Observation: Yesterday, in the morning, I was sitting on the floor, pretending that I was cooking something on the pot as
I stir. "Child A" saw what I was doing and walked towards me. "Child A, come and see what I am cooking", I said. She
took the saucepan with the lid that was on the stove, sat down on the floor and put the saucepan down. She held on to
the lid, opened it and closed it. I handed her the spoon that I was using and I took the pot and the spatula and showed
her how to stir. "This is how we stir, "Child A", I said. She started pounding the saucepan using the spoon that I gave
her, making sounds. "Child B" heard the sound that "Child A" was making and saw what we are doing. "Child B" was
looking at the pot and the saucepan that was on the floor as she crawls toward us. She sat on the floor beside me and
opened and closed the pot twice. I opened my eyes wide and smiled, "Wow 'Child B' you are making sounds!", I said.
"Child B" looked at me and smiled back. I gave her the spatula and assisted her hand on how to stir. I took the kettle and
the cups and put it on the floor. I sang, "This is the way we pour our drink" and pretended that I was from the cup.
"Child A" took the other cup and drank from it. "Uh– oh! Out of your mouth, "Child A", I said. Later that day, after their
lunch, "Child C" went to the dramatic area and played with the kitchenware. I went to her and sang, "This is the way we
stir our food" as I use the spoon to stir. She moved her head from left

Family Story And Origin Of A New Environment
Every family story and origin is unique to the members of the immediate group, while including the traditions passed
from generation to generation. From the scent of their house and clothes, special holidays, vacation spots, memories,
what they eat and how it is served; all of these elements of life are distinct to a family. These elements are incorporated
into what is viewed as normal life in a way that we don't see how our lives differ from those around us, until we are
faced with a situation where things are done differently than us. Many families contain multi – cultural backgrounds,
therefore providing generations with traditions that include folklore from different origins. One of the biggest elements
of culture how dishes are served and prepared. If you ever travel, one of the biggest attractions to a new environment is
the food that is served in that area. Some food traditions are difficult to explain and don't make sense to outsiders, but to
the family or local group it is a sense of definition and unity through foodways. In Louisiana especially, with Cajun
culture, we see many festivals and events that are food based, and the pride in the locals that serve it. My family, all
born and raised in the South, participate in the spicy food, crawfish boils, jambalaya sales, gumbo cooking events that
this culture offers. From a young age I can remember waking up on a Saturday morning in the fall, feeling the crisp air
flow through the house as we had the windows open,

Literature Review : Fruit Recognition System (...
Title: Fruit Recognition System (FruitCognizer)
Introduction
Motivation: Not just only consists of the most delicious foods in the world, but Thailand is also one of the countries
which have various of unique fruits with unique flavors as its representation. On the other hands, even if they are unique
in flavors, different types of fruits could look really similar to each other. Moreover, according to www.fruitsinfo.com,
there are approximately over a thousand types of fruit around the world, and each region of the world has a different
type of fruits depended on weather, soil, and temperature. Therefore, it is difficult for an individual to clearly distinguish
the differences and identify each type of fruits.
Scope:
Objective:
To construct an image recognition system that helps humans specify a type of each fruit more accurately.
To help people differentiate and specify a type of fruits more precisely and easier.
Literature Review
Related Work:
There are several related works trying to construct a fruit recognition system for different objectives by using lots of
techniques, and some of the related works are listed below. In 2010, S.Arivazhagan, R.Newlin Shebiah, S.Selva
Nidhyanandhan, L.Ganesan had done their research, and they published their research named 'Fruit Recognition using
Color and Texture Features'. The objective of this project is to recognize a fruit based on four common features
including intensity, color, shape, and texture of the object. Moreover,

Jennifer Thompson Picking Cotton Summary
Picking Cotton, by Jennifer Thompson–Cannino and Ronald Cotton (with Erin Torneo) was chosen as the Common
Reading Experience book for the 2015–2016 Freshman class under UNCP's First Year Initiatives Program. There are a
lot of lessons to be learned from the experiences of Thompson–Cannino and Cotton. The presentation they gave on the
UNCP campus was a mere cliff–notes version of the book, (although it was worth attending to meet them, listen to their
stories, and to hear Mr. Cotton sing the song that he wrote). Jennifer Thompson was raped in her apartment in July of
1984. She was a student at Elon College. Thompson made an effort to study every identifying detail of her assailant
during the attack. She memorized his face and voice, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Arguably the most difficult of these would turn out to be the key to his freedom. The man who had actually committed
the crimes he was serving time for was placed in the same prison and housing unit as he was. The true attacker, Bobby
Poole, bragged to others about how he was guilty for the offenses Cotton was convicted of. Poole and Cotton had such
similar appearances that the prison staff had difficulty telling them apart. Cotton took a Poloroid picture with Poole
under the guise of sending it to his sister. Cotton sent that photo to his attorneys, along with the other information that
he had gathered, again professing his innocence. In 1995, DNA technology was applied to the case. The final results
were conclusive: Poole was guilty and Cotton was innocent. Cotton was

War, Fruits Vs. Vegetables
We are at war, fruits vs. vegetables. We have been fighting for centuries now, blood and gore could be smelled
anywhere you go, countless bodies and corpses. The Vegetables were fighting for equal rights, they didn't want to be
their servants anymore. But on 1956, V–Day was the day the Vegetables didn't have to listen to the Fruits. My
grandfather fought on V–Day, he was a brave avocado soldier the Vegetable Army ever had. The was the day everything
was going to change for the vegetables but it didn't change as much as my father thought it would. Plus the reason we
were fighting for is stupid.
Today is September 14, 2013. I didn't understand why vegetables and fruits were in constant fighting. Vegetables say
that they 're healthier for the Creator, but Fruits say they 're sweeter for the Creator. Well long–story–short, the Creator
doesn't know we are talking and living food. We call him the creator because he created the Fruits and Vegetables.
Vegetables are the poorest part of our society, our society is what our creator calls "Farm" or "Greenhouse". Anyways, I
am part of the Vegetables. The Fruits don't respect us and think less of us, they think they are better than us because the
creator always picks them first for the "Stage". Nobody really knows what happens in the "Stage", no one has come
back from the Stage to tell the story. We just consider it as an honor to be selected for the Stage, but seems were
vegetables we are almost never picked. The Fruits still let us

Mr. Richardson was the nicest person from the school. He always had time to answer her questions. When she was
frustrated he was the one that she could talk to. When she came in beat up he never mentioned the marks or bruises. He
always greeted her with a smile. His words were always supportive. He was the one that told her that she could
accomplish anything she wanted to if she was willing to work for it.

Livoria Sandwiches Inc. provides exceptional quality sandwiches at a great price. Livoria has been able to maintain
profitability since inception and has continued to grow its business and revenues. Recent unforeseen external events
have caused significant cash flow issues and shook the family business. Livoria is hoping to see annual net income of

Reason is, the current demand forecast could be different with price increase. The risk is too high and doesn't create
growth.
Recommendation
The best option for Livoria at this time is to expand its menu into the vegetarian options. Not only is this the best way to
prepare for the future but it will also meet all of the preferences of the stakeholders while aligning with the corporate
objectives, mission and vision of the company. The $1.1 million goal will also be met by the end of 2013. No
constraints will be broken.
Implementation
In order for Livoria to be successful in implementing the menu expansion, it must first contact its suppliers and ensure
they can meet the change and increase in veggie demand. Next training and logistics must be arranged in house to adapt
to the change in menu options. Quality must be maintained and no short cuts can be made. With the financial analysis

On ther other hand they are facing chanlleges of capacity and efficiency especially in lunch time, which McDonald's
may not have as of mass service and standarded production. Sonnie's now can serve 40 customers per hour at lunch time
which is probabaly their max capacity. From my obervation and analysis, the made–to–order process can be more
efficient if they redesign the service buleprinting and line balancing, then they will not lose professional customers
whose schedule's busy and others who choose to go to other restaurants bacause of the waiting line. The customer is
approximately spending 210sec from walking into the shop and making orders to finish the orders. And the order
fulfillment process takes average 195sec to hand sandwiched to customers. To cut down and processing time and make
it more efficient, we need to focus on the precedence relationship between different ordering and assembling steps. Also
we need to focus on the customer actions and realated service providers's reacting actions. My recommondation would
be: when there is a waiting line, customers can get the order form from the entrance of the shop as well as a pencil then
might need. Filling out the forms before arriving the order spot, be prepraed, then I believe the ordering process could
drop down a lot. Then the person who is in charge of ordering can split the order form as usual. Another part that may
change would be the assembling and order accuracy checking. The

The Sandwich Factory
The sandwich factory
By Jason Kennedy
The short story The Sandwich Factory is written by Jason Kennedy in 2007.
The plot takes place at a sandwich factory in 1994.. The narrator of the story, who we follow through the story is 1st
person narrator, we gets his own view of the factory. One thing we should remember while reading the story is that we
hear the thoughts and opinions from his point of view, so that doesn't necessarily that it's all true.
We know that he is a male only because someone at the factory wants to find him a female partner.
He works at the factory, so we meet him there.
He gives us an impression that the employees are no longer considered as humans nor individuals. They are just one of
many. The narrator ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the words of our main character, he would run around with a knife, threatening him. It scared him, but at the same
time it wasn't a big deal at all, since he would casually ask customers if he had a knife in his back. Apparently the mad
man drove a forklift, and that was a big deal. That meant he got more that double the payment compared to the other
workers at the factory. He was also said to have forklift swagger, with a certain way of moving. In that way, our main
character is not like the others at all, he wants to get out and he doesn't think he is being treated right. The story ends
with him leaving the factory and never coming back. There are definitely some symbols in the text. For example when
he mentions the sandwiches. The narrator is mad about his job, his co–workers and the managers. He compares it to the
tomatoes in the sandwich, stinging his soul with its acid. Thereafter he dreams of a place where he could stand and
silently watch the tomatoes passing him, by with a note of a agony at the conveyer belt. I have chosen the text nice
work, by David Lodge and the picture Relativity, which is painted by M.C. Escher. I find the picture and the text very
comparable, because they're both very monotone and gray. The picture illustrates the described factory. There is no
individualism, no happiness or passion shown. The short story expresses the same feeling, it is very monotone. In the
text nice work we read about Robyn Penrose's visit to an automobile

Importance of Being Earnest: Dinner is Served Essay
Food is the world's safe house. Primarily, food is what keeps the body in working order. Behind the scenes, food creates
an industry that is incomparable to any other. From diners to fishermen, and from bakeries to slaughterhouses, food is
known by all. Oscar Wilde takes this universal knowledge of food to create the compelling social satire known as "The
Importance of Being Earnest." Wilde cleverly brings readers into a new world of secrecy, fantasy, and power through
the need to eat. With the onset of the "New Woman" era, Oscar Wilde uses food to introduce his humourously repulsed
opinion on the freedom of women, while alluding to the struggle of being accepted in this previously unheard of society.
In the opening pages of "The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lane! Why are there no cucumber sandwiches? I ordered them specially.
LANE [gravely]: There were no cucumbers in the market this morning, sir. I went down twice.
ALGERNON: No cucumbers!
LANE: No, sir, not even for ready money. (p.1028, Act I)
Lady Bracknell's character represents the "New Woman" and clearly Algernon has to overcome any obstacle to please
her. Lane, as the servant, a lower class citizen, acknowledges the hierarchy and aids Algernon in response. Wilde also
wrote the scene where Algernon eats the entire plate of cucumber sandwiches as a sign of rebellion against the supreme
woman figure. Algernon feared the consequences, and as a result concealed the truth. The cucumber sandwiches
symbolize the need to be accepted within society and its commodities. Wilde devises the cucumber sandwich discussion
to provide insight regarding the power shift from men to women at this time. A power struggle often arises as aspects of
society change. With feminism entering the limelight, one predicts there to be uproar from the male gender.
Unexpectedly, In Act II, the cattiness is unleashed when Cecily and Gwendolen discover they share lovers. As one of
the most comedic events in "The Importance of Being Earnest," this scene contains hidden symbols. Drama climaxes as
snacks are being served with these statements:
CECILY: May I offer you some tea, Miss Fairfax?

Case Analysis : ' Stef Sailor '
Stef Sailor is an owner and manager of a Subway store located in DeWitt, Iowa. In high school, I worked under her
supervision for three years. I decided to interview Stef for the interview because I respect her as a former boss. She
shaped me into the person I am today. I have always wanted to ask her questions about the business, but it was never
appropriate when I was working there. I want to take this chance to help me understand how her business operates.
Quality service skills are expected from all employees at Subway. In the interview, Stef explained that she wants each
employee to have excellent service skills. In class, we discussed that service is the speed and dependability of how
companies give the customer what they want. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stef is controlling her business by knowing exactly what is going on in her store at all times. If she notices a problem
happening, she can refer to Subway Live. These techniques of control can help Stef succeed.
Everybody has different skills, but Stef focuses on technical and communication skills when hiring a manager. In class,
we discussed how people can have technical, conceptual, and communication skills. Depending on the job, certain skills
are needed while others are not. Stef claims a manager at Subway should present more technical and communication
skills for the job. Subway is a fast food restaurant, so employees are only making sandwiches and communicating with
the customers for each order. There are only a few times a manager will face a problem, but when it occurs they are told
to call Stef's phone for assistance. Technical skills include understanding different formulas for sandwiches and
knowing where items are located throughout the store. Communication skills include talking with the customer to
understand what he or she wants and resolving any confusion if it exists. If a manager has these skills they will be
successful.
Social capital is extremely important when working in a small town. In class, we discussed social capital is the goodwill
from your social relations. It can either impact business in a positive or negative way. In the interview, Stef declared
social capital is a competitive advantage

In the words of John Muir– "When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world."
When one finds his way to discover something new he will always be able to revert back to things that already exist in

The Relationship Between Parent And Family
Parent's: The first step to ensuring your child's safety outside of the home is establishing a healthy family dynamic
based around mutual trust and reliance on each other, to an extent. When you and your child have a relationship
between yourselves that is healthy, you ensure that your child feels safe in the place that matters most; in their home.
When a child feels safe in their home, among their family, then they are more likely to feel the can communicate when
there is something happening in their lives outside the home that is bothering them or can prove harmful. Without this
healthy dynamic, your child may withhold important information from you that could end up causing a drastic change
in your child's wellbeing.
As important as open communication is between parent and child, it is equally as important to set a solid set of rules for
your child to follow. For example, younger children may not be allowed to cross the street or leave the yard without an
adult with them. Without solid rules for children to follow, then the relationship between child and parent becomes too
lax, and there is no sense of respect of child to parent. Without a sense of mutual respect between parent and child, the
child will then feel that their parent has no knowledge of what is best for them; even though the rules their parent may
try to enforce rules that are in their best interest to follow.
As far as setting rules and punishments for your child, the ramifications should evolve as the

Descriptive Essay About Camp Wakeshma
Camp Wakeshma has something special about it and always has me wanting to stay longer. Since I was 12 years old,
I've been going to Wakeshma every summer for a week. This camp is so simple yet so fun and exciting. I'm driving to
camp with William Fulton and our moms when we turn onto Camp Wakeshma Rd. and go under the huge sign reading
the name. We arrive late to camp due to a baseball tournament, but we check in and put our belongings in the cabin.
William and I say our goodbyes and go find the rest of our cabin. Afterwards we line up for dinner by the flagpole.
Nobody could help but realize one of our cabin mates lost an arm due to cancer. At night when we get ready for bed I
see him change his shirt revealing his scars. As I go to bed, I don't think much of it.
Today is a drag. Every year I can never sleep good the first night and this year it's no different. We do our regular
routine leading up to lunch and discuss more rules while standing at the flagpole. Tony, the camp unit leader called our
cabin to go in first and we made our way into the cafeteria. I stood atop of the stage where our table sat and you could
hear the doors whine as the hungry kids pass through. Everyone is restless and excited for the first full day of camp. I'm
just as excited as everyone even though I'm one of the oldest campers. The cafeteria was like a giant school bus with
rows of loud kids. DINGGG the bell rings to capture everyone's attention. Tony announces we're having chicken bacon

The Sea Cucumber is an Echinoderm (Phylum Echinodermata) and is also an Invertebrate. Sea Cucumbers belong to the

Some of them position themselves in the direction of the currents in order to catch food that flows by, with their open
tentacles. At other times, sea cucumbers may use their tentacles to sift through the sediments on the bottom floor.
The sea cucumber has a very primitive digestive system. It has a pharynx that lies behind the mouth, surrounded by a
ring of ten calcareous plates. For some sea cucumbers, this makes up only a substantial part of their skeleton, and forms
the point of attachment for muscles that can retract the tentacles into the body for safety and for the main muscles that
are part of the body wall. Many species of the sea cucumbers have an oesophagus and a stomach, but for others, the
pharynx opens directly into the intestine, and therefore, lacks these structures. The intestine is usually long and coiled,
and is looped through the body at least three times before in end in a cloacal chamber, or in some species, directly as the
anus.
When it feeds, the sea cucumber will extend its tentacles, covered with sticky mucus, into the water until food particles
cover the tentacles. The sea cucumber is a suspension feeder; therefore, it takes in small bits of detritus and microscopic
organisms that float near the sea bottom. They are

A Dill Pickle Critical Analysis
A Dill Pickle by Katherine Mansfield represents the women's pursuit of independence through loneliness. Mansfield
captures real–life stories, not ones fabricated to appeal to the masses. This story takes place in a café, a couple meets
again after 6 years apart. Their meeting emphasizes the women (Vera's) cynical look on love and her sensitive
personality. The man exudes arrogance and has a way with words. The differences between the two characters highlight
the divergence of their love and the lack of certain personality traits of each character. This unveils one of many reasons
why their relationship would come to an end breaking both of their hearts. Vera doesn't talk much in the text, instead we
dive deep into her inner thoughts and that's where she expresses her true feelings of the past relationship and unravels
her teetering feelings for the man, each topic he brings up reminds her of an unpleasant memory of him from the past
but as he talks he turns those horrible memories into good ones, convincing Vera to fall back in love with him. "But she
was thinking how well she remembered that trick of his–the trick of interrupting her–and of how it used to exasperate
her six years ago" (Mansfield, 16). The fact that Mansfield chose to have Vera think "how it used to exasperate her" this
shows that it no longer irritated her by the word choice of "used to" the man has convinced her that it no longer is a
point of irritation for her but something she now finds endearing.

From Sandwich Shop to Subway
Subway Report
Subway was founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca and Peter Buck. The duo opened their first sandwich shop when DeLuca
was only seventeen years old. DeLuca's childhood dream was to become a prominent doctor. Therefore, he needed to
find a way to pay for his medical career. On the other hand, Peter Buck was a family friend who offered DeLuca the
possibility to become business partners. Their first store was opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was called, "Pete's
Super Submarines." They sold over three hundred sandwiches on the opening day. The price range for each sandwich
was between forty–nine to sixty–nine cents. Although they struggled for couple of years they were optimistic. Their
goal at that time was to open over thirty stores in the next ten years. The pair wanted to create a success' image. Later,
Fred learned that good customer service, quality food and low prices were important to stay in business for a long time.
In 1968, the little submarine shop changed their name to the trademark "Subway." They made seven thousand dollars
only on that year. However, the duo was too ambitious to settle with that. It was in 1974, and after sixteen stores in
Wallingford, Connecticut that Subway grew into a franchise. In this way, becoming the first franchise in the United
States. The mindset of DeLuca and Buck was to allow the now chain brand, to expand countrywide. But at this point
they fell half way short on their original goal ten years ago. This

Descriptive Essay About A Restaurant
When I arrive home I usually smell the cooking of my mom all nice and prepared. The dishes are all Mexican which

cultures, but anyway who doesn't like their mothers cooking? Anyway, when I walk in Taqueria San Juanito it reminds

cultured foods are important to shaping a country in which immigrants built. This is why I think this restaurant should
be known more. Another reason why I chose this to make a review on and explain why I love going here. Many people
like sandwiches and there's all sorts of sandwiches out there with different ingredients which are either fresh or not.
Watch out because the king of all spanish sandwiches, the torta!
The torta there is basically a sandwich and usually has beef in it. The bread there is perfectly toasted giving it a crunch.
You also have the options on your sandwich are lettuce, chopped up square tomatoes, sour cream, avocado, and beans.
You can also put on hot sauce in which they make with hot peppers they crush. There all fresh and the meat is nicely
cooked and not at all chewy. There is also many options if you do not want meat, for example chicken. I personally like

My Family Holiday Essay
Charlotte McIntyre Today was going to be one most irritating day for my family and we didn't know it. We thought our
family holiday was going great there hadn't been any of the arguments that cause my mother to say "that it pack
everything we are going back home, i have had enough". Even if she had said that i would highly doubt that she would
get the car all packed to drive ten hour back down the road. Today is the last full day of our trip so we decided to visit
friends of my mum and dad's, they lived around an hour away from the holiday park so we got all ready to set of on our
little trip.
Finally manage to get all ready and we all climb into our car. So we set of driving along the little road out of the holiday
park that led onto the main road. Driving along happily looking out the window at all the brightly green grassed fields
and watching the cars passing. We were just about at our destination, we turn up this turn off and drove underneath a
huge bridge. The road was so curvy and i could feel my stomach being shaken around like a mixing blender, finally we
got of that road. I noticed a sign that said "welcome to portsmouth"
My dad's face look amazed and filled with joy that we have managed to get there without any problem, well he spoke to
soon. Around the corner we went past a few pubs and restaurants they look very run down but anyway we reached a set
of traffic lights and we ended up getting stuck at the red light. It felt like everyone and there

Porter's five forces model
New Entrants– Below are several factors that invaders are difficult to enter an industry:
Economies of scale – In order to compete with the established firms, Startup companies have to operate with small
margins.
Capital requirements – It is very difficult for firms to enter into new ventures simply because the capital required is too
high and the existing firms need not worry about new competition.
Access to distribution channels – New companies struggle to market their products and compete with the existing
competive market.
Government policy – Potential firms rely on favorable government policies for their entry to the market
Differentiation – new firms will struggle to make an impact on customers by showcasing what makes their product
stand out the existing market players
Switching Costs – In the current scenario the general support structure in place for alternative fuel vehicles is very poor
that even though gasoline prices grow, people are reluctant to buy an alternative fuel

My Day At School
On Thursday the fourth week of school, I woke up earlier than usual. I set my alarm to vibrate at 8:30 but I instead
woke up at 8. Not caring how exhausted, I was from staying up late the night before to complete an assignment,
regretting procrastinating, I decided to start my day early. Being prudent, I search the weather to figure out what to
wear. I prepared myself for the day, setting my clothes on the bed and placed my shoes out. I took my towel and shower
caddy with all my shower essentials out and hopped in the shower moments later. When I finished washing I put my
clothes on and put a ponytail in my hair. My class start at 9:30 am and I was ready at 9:10 am. Staying at Rosa
Alexander Hall I have to leave before 9:20 because Madison is a 10–minute walk.
Walking downstairs, greeting the RA that was at the front desk, I walked out the front door and into beautiful weather.
The sky was sapphire blue and the sun was shining so bright it might blind your eyes if you look directly at it. This is
the first good weather we had since the rain we have been having for these few days. Walking to class, just pass the
library, I see one of my friends and we decide to walk with each other because our class is in the same building.
Reaching the building my friend and us go our separate ways, her staying on the first floor and me heading upstairs.
My first class is English 101 with Professor Camp. We went over the vocabulary words and learned that we have a quiz
on Tuesday. Then we went over one of Maya Angulo's stories to have an idea of what our observation paper looks like.
Mr. Camp ended class around 11:15 so I just walked downstairs to my other class. I was so early that the class that uses
the classroom before us was still there.
My teacher entered class looking like she was trying to put her life together. Gathering the materials she will be needing
for the lesson. She made a couple of announcements and went along teaching. The class was long and dreadful. I
wanted to bring my bed in class to fall asleep. It felt like she has been talking forever until I checked the time and saw
only 25 minutes passed I realized this was going to be a long class. Class ended and I hurried out of class not wanting to

Summary Of The Sandwich Generation
David Kopec
Application Activities #1,
Sandwich Generation, G.
9/22/17
The Sandwich Generation
After reading the article "The Sandwich Generation: Who is Caring for you?" by Ruth Tarantine I have learned what the
"Sandwich Generation" is and how to assist individuals in this generation. The "Sandwich Generation" was originally
used to describe baby boomers that were women in their 30s and 40s who cared for their parents and their own children.
This term was coined by Dorothy Miller. As time passed, the term changed to include both male and females and the
age range is now 40 to 65 years old. Almost 50% of adults 40–50 years old care for a parent and child. Caring for a
parent and child can stress a caregiver. Adding a chronic disease to either parent or child can put additional stress on the
caregiver. To help relieve some of this stress a caregiver will seek outside help, such as hospitalization, which in reality
can do more harm than good for the caregiver. The caregiver will think that having their parent hospitalized will relieve
this stress, but instead this will cause them to feel guilty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were plenty of options provided in the article but I decided to cover the ones I believed would be most helpful to
anyone. The first step you can take is to take care of yourself. Many times when helping others we forget about
ourselves. We put things off to the side or don't pay attention to our own needs. We can forget to eat right, sleep, get
regular checkups, or even take a break. When you are constantly taking care of someone you may go to a local fast food
place because you don't have time to cook a healthy meal. Some caregivers will turn to drugs or alcohol to relieve
stress. This can complicate their lives even more and make them more irritable. All of these factors can add up and
decrease your quality of

whether corn or flour regardless of the reduced price as it relates to a typical sandwich. Some people do not care that the

The McTurkey is a good wholesome sandwich that is loved by millions across the world. This sandwich is versatile,
meeting the needs of those who enjoy a healthy sandwich and cannot eat without having a slice of bread. This sandwich
can even be enjoyed without the bread for those people who are watching their carbs. This Club sandwich covers

no more graceful fumbles for the rest of the day. Casually watching people boarding the plan, beginning to wonder if
this really was Brent 's plane since he still had to board and the people coming on had trickled to only one or two every
few seconds. The crazy thought, fell to the wayside when he finally boarded, flashed a smile as he passed me, dropping
a folded piece of paper in my lap. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She 's a flight attendant now, been so for almost ten years." "Now that has to be exciting." "We never see her, but she
flies me anywhere she can, lands me these great seats, so from my end it 's exciting." The lady continued small talk for a
few minutes, about the places she has been visiting, especially the airports. With the conversation moving along the
letter hidden in my pocket was forgotten about until a flight attendant came to my seat. Bent over my neighbor, she
spoke quietly, "Excuse me are you Jessa?" "Um, yeah?" With a bright smile, she continued on, "The gentleman in 21A
said that you would have an answer for him about a lunch date." The heat rose in my face, cowering into my hands, I
didn 't think I could look at the flight attendant with my face going full red. He actually sent someone to get the answer.
The boy was something else. Still with my face in my hands, she continued on, "he also told me to tell you, he 'll
understand if you don 't want to and that he still wants to pay for your on board meal so order away. He just seems like
the nicest boy." "Oh, goodness isn 't that sweet." My seat partner gushed, "which one is he?" she began to stand up. The
action caused me to move my hands away from my face, as I gave a slight tug on her coat and she slowly sat back down
but still trying to sneak a look. "I don 't mind switching dear, I 've done the flying thing for quite a while." All the

Cucumbers Research Paper
Cucumbers are (compared to other things) easy to grow. They prefer a full–sun exposure in a well–drained garden rich,
dark soil. Changing the soil with (mix of dead leaves, poop/fertilizer, etc.) or other forms of organic matter will improve
soil configuration and increase yields. Examine garden drainage before planting, since wet soil will (helps

  • 1. Cucumber ( Cucumis Sativus ) Is Part Of The Cucurbitaceae... Throughout the world there are a large range of fruit and vegetables being produced and supplied to consumers, these products have to meet harvesting standards to ensure good quality. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is part of the cucurbitaceae family, is also a short day plant and originated from India. In 2012 the world produced 65,134.08 million kilos, this was a new all time high. China produces 48,000 million kilos, this is 73% of the worlds production (Fresh Plaza, 2014). Cucumbers are generally grown indoors in a hydroponic system when grown commercially this is a lot more efficient as the environment can be controlled, this will help ensure growers are supplying quality cucumbers for consumers, this will also help with profitability. There are high standards that need to be met when growing cucumbers commercially starting from the seed all the way to the harvesting of the cucumber. The most important part is in the early stages as this helps ensure good establishment and good foundations to give the crop the best chance of producing good quality, high yield vegetable crop. In a natural environment temperature is always changing, sometimes not for the better, but in an indoor hydroponic system this can be controlled. Temperature is very important when growing cucumbers as they love heat, this can have a huge impact on the quality and total yield of the crop. Being indoors really helps decrease the amount of bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi as rainfall is unable to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Year 2003 SUBWAY improves the nutritional content of its Kids meal by switching the carbonated soft drink to a juice box and changing from a high calorie cookie to fruit roll up fruit snack that is high in vitamin C. Many of the Kids Pak toys are now designed to inspire physical activity; the website includes a resource for parents striving to manage their children's diet and exercise levels. Parents and children can also ask Jared Fogle about how he lost his weight or how they can incorporate fun exercises into their daily life. The increase in sales of the sandwiches has been a result of decrease in consumer interest in hamburgers and fries and increases in demand for healthier options. Sales of sandwiches are growing 15 percent annually, outpacing the 3 percent sales growth rate for burgers and steaks. SUBWAY target virgin international markets using their strong brand. POSITIONING Positioning is all about "perception". It refers the customer's perception of a product or service in relation to its competitors. SUBWAY positioning their products by continuing to build the brand on the "freshness" platform. The SUBWAY chain is expanding its universe of potential customers as a place for "TASTY" and "HEALTHY" food. • 9. Observation of Children at Play and Work Observation: Yesterday, in the morning, I was sitting on the floor, pretending that I was cooking something on the pot as I stir. "Child A" saw what I was doing and walked towards me. "Child A, come and see what I am cooking", I said. She took the saucepan with the lid that was on the stove, sat down on the floor and put the saucepan down. She held on to the lid, opened it and closed it. I handed her the spoon that I was using and I took the pot and the spatula and showed her how to stir. "This is how we stir, "Child A", I said. She started pounding the saucepan using the spoon that I gave her, making sounds. "Child B" heard the sound that "Child A" was making and saw what we are doing. "Child B" was looking at the pot and the saucepan that was on the floor as she crawls toward us. She sat on the floor beside me and opened and closed the pot twice. I opened my eyes wide and smiled, "Wow 'Child B' you are making sounds!", I said. "Child B" looked at me and smiled back. I gave her the spatula and assisted her hand on how to stir. I took the kettle and the cups and put it on the floor. I sang, "This is the way we pour our drink" and pretended that I was from the cup. "Child A" took the other cup and drank from it. "Uh– oh! Out of your mouth, "Child A", I said. Later that day, after their lunch, "Child C" went to the dramatic area and played with the kitchenware. I went to her and sang, "This is the way we stir our food" as I use the spoon to stir. She moved her head from left ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Family Story And Origin Of A New Environment Every family story and origin is unique to the members of the immediate group, while including the traditions passed from generation to generation. From the scent of their house and clothes, special holidays, vacation spots, memories, what they eat and how it is served; all of these elements of life are distinct to a family. These elements are incorporated into what is viewed as normal life in a way that we don't see how our lives differ from those around us, until we are faced with a situation where things are done differently than us. Many families contain multi – cultural backgrounds, therefore providing generations with traditions that include folklore from different origins. One of the biggest elements of culture how dishes are served and prepared. If you ever travel, one of the biggest attractions to a new environment is the food that is served in that area. Some food traditions are difficult to explain and don't make sense to outsiders, but to the family or local group it is a sense of definition and unity through foodways. In Louisiana especially, with Cajun culture, we see many festivals and events that are food based, and the pride in the locals that serve it. My family, all born and raised in the South, participate in the spicy food, crawfish boils, jambalaya sales, gumbo cooking events that this culture offers. From a young age I can remember waking up on a Saturday morning in the fall, feeling the crisp air flow through the house as we had the windows open, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, according to www.fruitsinfo.com, there are approximately over a thousand types of fruit around the world, and each region of the world has a different type of fruits depended on weather, soil, and temperature. Therefore, it is difficult for an individual to clearly distinguish the differences and identify each type of fruits. Jennifer Thompson Picking Cotton Summary Picking Cotton, by Jennifer Thompson–Cannino and Ronald Cotton (with Erin Torneo) was chosen as the Common Reading Experience book for the 2015–2016 Freshman class under UNCP's First Year Initiatives Program. There are a lot of lessons to be learned from the experiences of Thompson–Cannino and Cotton. The presentation they gave on the UNCP campus was a mere cliff–notes version of the book, (although it was worth attending to meet them, listen to their stories, and to hear Mr. Cotton sing the song that he wrote). Jennifer Thompson was raped in her apartment in July of 1984. She was a student at Elon College. Thompson made an effort to study every identifying detail of her assailant during the attack. The true attacker, Bobby Poole, bragged to others about how he was guilty for the offenses Cotton was convicted of. Poole and Cotton had such similar appearances that the prison staff had difficulty telling them apart. Cotton took a Poloroid picture with Poole under the guise of sending it to his sister. Cotton sent that photo to his attorneys, along with the other information that he had gathered, again professing his innocence. In 1995, DNA technology was applied to the case. The final results were conclusive: Poole was guilty and Cotton was innocent. Cotton was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. War, Fruits Vs. Vegetables We are at war, fruits vs. vegetables. We have been fighting for centuries now, blood and gore could be smelled anywhere you go, countless bodies and corpses. The Vegetables were fighting for equal rights, they didn't want to be their servants anymore. But on 1956, V–Day was the day the Vegetables didn't have to listen to the Fruits. My grandfather fought on V–Day, he was a brave avocado soldier the Vegetable Army ever had. The was the day everything was going to change for the vegetables but it didn't change as much as my father thought it would. Plus the reason we were fighting for is stupid. Today is September 14, 2013. I didn't understand why vegetables and fruits were in constant fighting. Vegetables say that they 're healthier for the Creator, but Fruits say they 're sweeter for the Creator. Well long–story–short, the Creator doesn't know we are talking and living food. We call him the creator because he created the Fruits and Vegetables. Vegetables are the poorest part of our society, our society is what our creator calls "Farm" or "Greenhouse". Anyways, I am part of the Vegetables. The Fruits don't respect us and think less of us, they think they are better than us because the creator always picks them first for the "Stage". • 61. The Sandwich Factory The sandwich factory By Jason Kennedy The short story The Sandwich Factory is written by Jason Kennedy in 2007. The plot takes place at a sandwich factory in 1994.. The narrator of the story, who we follow through the story is 1st person narrator, we gets his own view of the factory. One thing we should remember while reading the story is that we hear the thoughts and opinions from his point of view, so that doesn't necessarily that it's all true. We know that he is a male only because someone at the factory wants to find him a female partner. He works at the factory, so we meet him there. He gives us an impression that the employees are no longer considered as humans nor individuals. They are just one of many. The narrator ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the words of our main character, he would run around with a knife, threatening him. It scared him, but at the same time it wasn't a big deal at all, since he would casually ask customers if he had a knife in his back. Apparently the mad man drove a forklift, and that was a big deal. That meant he got more that double the payment compared to the other workers at the factory. He was also said to have forklift swagger, with a certain way of moving. In that way, our main character is not like the others at all, he wants to get out and he doesn't think he is being treated right. The story ends with him leaving the factory and never coming back. There are definitely some symbols in the text. For example when he mentions the sandwiches. The narrator is mad about his job, his co–workers and the managers. He compares it to the tomatoes in the sandwich, stinging his soul with its acid. Thereafter he dreams of a place where he could stand and silently watch the tomatoes passing him, by with a note of a agony at the conveyer belt. I have chosen the text nice work, by David Lodge and the picture Relativity, which is painted by M.C. Escher. I find the picture and the text very comparable, because they're both very monotone and gray. The picture illustrates the described factory. There is no individualism, no happiness or passion shown. The short story expresses the same feeling, it is very monotone. In the text nice work we read about Robyn Penrose's visit to an automobile ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Importance of Being Earnest: Dinner is Served Essay Food is the world's safe house. Primarily, food is what keeps the body in working order. Behind the scenes, food creates an industry that is incomparable to any other. From diners to fishermen, and from bakeries to slaughterhouses, food is known by all. Oscar Wilde takes this universal knowledge of food to create the compelling social satire known as "The Importance of Being Earnest." Wilde cleverly brings readers into a new world of secrecy, fantasy, and power through the need to eat. With the onset of the "New Woman" era, Oscar Wilde uses food to introduce his humourously repulsed opinion on the freedom of women, while alluding to the struggle of being accepted in this previously unheard of society. (p.1028, Act I) Lady Bracknell's character represents the "New Woman" and clearly Algernon has to overcome any obstacle to please her. Lane, as the servant, a lower class citizen, acknowledges the hierarchy and aids Algernon in response. Wilde also wrote the scene where Algernon eats the entire plate of cucumber sandwiches as a sign of rebellion against the supreme woman figure. Algernon feared the consequences, and as a result concealed the truth. The cucumber sandwiches symbolize the need to be accepted within society and its commodities. Wilde devises the cucumber sandwich discussion to provide insight regarding the power shift from men to women at this time. A power struggle often arises as aspects of society change. With feminism entering the limelight, one predicts there to be uproar from the male gender. Unexpectedly, In Act II, the cattiness is unleashed when Cecily and Gwendolen discover they share lovers. As one of the most comedic events in "The Importance of Being Earnest," this scene contains hidden symbols. • 93. The Relationship Between Parent And Family Parent's: The first step to ensuring your child's safety outside of the home is establishing a healthy family dynamic based around mutual trust and reliance on each other, to an extent. When you and your child have a relationship between yourselves that is healthy, you ensure that your child feels safe in the place that matters most; in their home. When a child feels safe in their home, among their family, then they are more likely to feel the can communicate when there is something happening in their lives outside the home that is bothering them or can prove harmful. Without this healthy dynamic, your child may withhold important information from you that could end up causing a drastic change in your child's wellbeing. As important as open communication is between parent and child, it is equally as important to set a solid set of rules for your child to follow. For example, younger children may not be allowed to cross the street or leave the yard without an adult with them. Without solid rules for children to follow, then the relationship between child and parent becomes too lax, and there is no sense of respect of child to parent. Without a sense of mutual respect between parent and child, the child will then feel that their parent has no knowledge of what is best for them; even though the rules their parent may try to enforce rules that are in their best interest to follow. • 97. Descriptive Essay About Camp Wakeshma Camp Wakeshma has something special about it and always has me wanting to stay longer. Since I was 12 years old, I've been going to Wakeshma every summer for a week. This camp is so simple yet so fun and exciting. I'm driving to camp with William Fulton and our moms when we turn onto Camp Wakeshma Rd. and go under the huge sign reading the name. At night when we get ready for bed I see him change his shirt revealing his scars. As I go to bed, I don't think much of it. Today is a drag. Every year I can never sleep good the first night and this year it's no different. We do our regular routine leading up to lunch and discuss more rules while standing at the flagpole. Tony, the camp unit leader called our cabin to go in first and we made our way into the cafeteria. I stood atop of the stage where our table sat and you could hear the doors whine as the hungry kids pass through. Everyone is restless and excited for the first full day of camp. I'm just as excited as everyone even though I'm one of the oldest campers. The cafeteria was like a giant school bus with rows of loud kids. DINGGG the bell rings to capture everyone's attention. Tony announces we're having chicken bacon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of them position themselves in the direction of the currents in order to catch food that flows by, with their open tentacles. At other times, sea cucumbers may use their tentacles to sift through the sediments on the bottom floor. The sea cucumber has a very primitive digestive system. It has a pharynx that lies behind the mouth, surrounded by a ring of ten calcareous plates. For some sea cucumbers, this makes up only a substantial part of their skeleton, and forms the point of attachment for muscles that can retract the tentacles into the body for safety and for the main muscles that are part of the body wall. Many species of the sea cucumbers have an oesophagus and a stomach, but for others, the pharynx opens directly into the intestine, and therefore, lacks these structures. The intestine is usually long and coiled, and is looped through the body at least three times before in end in a cloacal chamber, or in some species, directly as the anus. When it feeds, the sea cucumber will extend its tentacles, covered with sticky mucus, into the water until food particles cover the tentacles. The sea cucumber is a suspension feeder; therefore, it takes in small bits of detritus and microscopic organisms that float near the sea bottom. They are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 105. A Dill Pickle Critical Analysis A Dill Pickle by Katherine Mansfield represents the women's pursuit of independence through loneliness. Mansfield captures real–life stories, not ones fabricated to appeal to the masses. This story takes place in a café, a couple meets again after 6 years apart. Their meeting emphasizes the women (Vera's) cynical look on love and her sensitive personality. The man exudes arrogance and has a way with words. The differences between the two characters highlight the divergence of their love and the lack of certain personality traits of each character. This unveils one of many reasons why their relationship would come to an end breaking both of their hearts. Vera doesn't talk much in the text, instead we dive deep into her inner thoughts and that's where she expresses her true feelings of the past relationship and unravels her teetering feelings for the man, each topic he brings up reminds her of an unpleasant memory of him from the past but as he talks he turns those horrible memories into good ones, convincing Vera to fall back in love with him. "But she was thinking how well she remembered that trick of his–the trick of interrupting her–and of how it used to exasperate her six years ago" (Mansfield, 16). The fact that Mansfield chose to have Vera think "how it used to exasperate her" this shows that it no longer irritated her by the word choice of "used to" the man has convinced her that it no longer is a point of irritation for her but something she now finds endearing. ... As a member of the phylum ctenophora, Bolinopsis infundibulum, or commonly known as the Common Northern Comb Jelly, possess the characteristic eight rows of fused cilia that stretch laterally across its sides (Waggoner et al., 1995.) These rows of cilia assist in swimming and are usually referred to as 'combs,' which is where the common name for this organism derives from Gelatinous tissue, which is 95% water constitutes the oblong body of the Bolinopsis infundibulum; this is a major impediment for researchers as whenever they attempt to obtain samples of this organism the body mostly disintegrates (Hopcroft, 2008.) • 113. From Sandwich Shop to Subway Subway Report Subway was founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca and Peter Buck. The duo opened their first sandwich shop when DeLuca was only seventeen years old. DeLuca's childhood dream was to become a prominent doctor. Therefore, he needed to find a way to pay for his medical career. On the other hand, Peter Buck was a family friend who offered DeLuca the possibility to become business partners. Their first store was opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was called, "Pete's Super Submarines." They sold over three hundred sandwiches on the opening day. The price range for each sandwich was between forty–nine to sixty–nine cents. Although they struggled for couple of years they were optimistic. Their goal at that time was to open over thirty stores in the next ten years. The pair wanted to create a success' image. Later, Fred learned that good customer service, quality food and low prices were important to stay in business for a long time. In 1968, the little submarine shop changed their name to the trademark "Subway." They made seven thousand dollars only on that year. However, the duo was too ambitious to settle with that. It was in 1974, and after sixteen stores in Wallingford, Connecticut that Subway grew into a franchise. In this way, becoming the first franchise in the United States. The mindset of DeLuca and Buck was to allow the now chain brand, to expand countrywide. But at this point they fell half way short on their original goal ten years ago. This ... The dishes are all Mexican which make them unique, at least that is what I think. I'm glad I am Mexican because the culture is unique just like any other cultures, but anyway who doesn't like their mothers cooking? Anyway, when I walk in Taqueria San Juanito it reminds me of my culture and where I'm from. This restaurant should be known more because it shows how good different cultured foods are important to shaping a country in which immigrants built. This is why I think this restaurant should be known more. Another reason why I chose this to make a review on and explain why I love going here. Many people like sandwiches and there's all sorts of sandwiches out there with different ingredients which are either fresh or not. There all fresh and the meat is nicely cooked and not at all chewy. There is also many options if you do not want meat, for example chicken. I personally like it having it they way they serve it, but without the beans, or you can also get the alternate version of the sandwich is the pambazo. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We thought our family holiday was going great there hadn't been any of the arguments that cause my mother to say "that it pack everything we are going back home, i have had enough". Even if she had said that i would highly doubt that she would get the car all packed to drive ten hour back down the road. Today is the last full day of our trip so we decided to visit friends of my mum and dad's, they lived around an hour away from the holiday park so we got all ready to set of on our little trip. Finally manage to get all ready and we all climb into our car. So we set of driving along the little road out of the holiday park that led onto the main road. Driving along happily looking out the window at all the brightly green grassed fields and watching the cars passing. We were just about at our destination, we turn up this turn off and drove underneath a huge bridge. The road was so curvy and i could feel my stomach being shaken around like a mixing blender, finally we got of that road. I noticed a sign that said "welcome to portsmouth" My dad's face look amazed and filled with joy that we have managed to get there without any problem, well he spoke to soon. Around the corner we went past a few pubs and restaurants they look very run down but anyway we reached a set of traffic lights and we ended up getting stuck at the red light. • 129. My Day At School On Thursday the fourth week of school, I woke up earlier than usual. I set my alarm to vibrate at 8:30 but I instead woke up at 8. Not caring how exhausted, I was from staying up late the night before to complete an assignment, regretting procrastinating, I decided to start my day early. Being prudent, I search the weather to figure out what to wear. I prepared myself for the day, setting my clothes on the bed and placed my shoes out. I took my towel and shower caddy with all my shower essentials out and hopped in the shower moments later. When I finished washing I put my clothes on and put a ponytail in my hair. My class start at 9:30 am and I was ready at 9:10 am. Staying at Rosa Alexander Hall I have to leave before 9:20 because Madison is a 10–minute walk. Walking downstairs, greeting the RA that was at the front desk, I walked out the front door and into beautiful weather. The sky was sapphire blue and the sun was shining so bright it might blind your eyes if you look directly at it. This is the first good weather we had since the rain we have been having for these few days. Walking to class, just pass the library, I see one of my friends and we decide to walk with each other because our class is in the same building. Reaching the building my friend and us go our separate ways, her staying on the first floor and me heading upstairs. My first class is English 101 with Professor Camp. We went over the vocabulary words and learned that we have a quiz on Tuesday. Then we went over one of Maya Angulo's stories to have an idea of what our observation paper looks like. Mr. Camp ended class around 11:15 so I just walked downstairs to my other class. I was so early that the class that uses the classroom before us was still there. My teacher entered class looking like she was trying to put her life together. Gathering the materials she will be needing for the lesson. She made a couple of announcements and went along teaching. The class was long and dreadful. I wanted to bring my bed in class to fall asleep. It felt like she has been talking forever until I checked the time and saw only 25 minutes passed I realized this was going to be a long class. • 133. Summary Of The Sandwich Generation David Kopec Application Activities #1, Sandwich Generation, G. 9/22/17 The Sandwich Generation After reading the article "The Sandwich Generation: Who is Caring for you?" by Ruth Tarantine I have learned what the "Sandwich Generation" is and how to assist individuals in this generation. The "Sandwich Generation" was originally used to describe baby boomers that were women in their 30s and 40s who cared for their parents and their own children. This term was coined by Dorothy Miller. As time passed, the term changed to include both male and females and the age range is now 40 to 65 years old. Almost 50% of adults 40–50 years old care for a parent and child. Caring for a parent and child can stress a caregiver. Adding a chronic disease to either parent or child can put additional stress on the caregiver. To help relieve some of this stress a caregiver will seek outside help, such as hospitalization, which in reality can do more harm than good for the caregiver. The caregiver will think that having their parent hospitalized will relieve this stress, but instead this will cause them to feel guilty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many times when helping others we forget about ourselves. We put things off to the side or don't pay attention to our own needs. We can forget to eat right, sleep, get regular checkups, or even take a break. When you are constantly taking care of someone you may go to a local fast food place because you don't have time to cook a healthy meal. Some caregivers will turn to drugs or alcohol to relieve stress. This can complicate their lives even more and make them more irritable. All of these factors can add up and decrease your quality of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For my doctoral research, I want to study unfamiliar marine organisms in unfamiliar habitats to contribute to new knowledge and discover new species.
