3. Birth and organization
• Doctors Without Borders was created December 22, 1971 by the French
doctors.
• It is currently active in 19 countries and is involved in activities of service
centers in over 80 countries.
• Doctors Without Borders is comprised of five sections operating in
France, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain and support them
with:
• fundraising activities;
• recruitment of volunteers;
• information on the media;

• Doctors Without Borders does not pose discrimination
based on race, religion, sex or opinion.
• Currently Doctors Without Borders-Italy is involved in two
important objectives:
• to give up the pharmaceutical company "Novartis" to win a
lawsuit that wants to limit the economic and quality medicines in
poor countries.
• with the action "tell me more" want to give more space to what
happens in poor countries, through the TG and newspapers
