My Career As A Career Autobiography
A career autobiography has to probably be one of the most interesting and thoughtful essays I've
had to write so far. I am seventeen years old and am attending my first semester in college. I look
forward to getting good grades, opening my mind to new things, and eventually graduating college.
However, I have absolutely no idea what I want to be doing in the future. My indecisiveness is at
such a high level that I probably change my future career every other day. At this point in life, my
family, advisors, and professors are telling me that I don't need to know what I want to be doing for
a living, in the future, yet, I feel that I should know. I don't want to be wasting my time and taking
unnecessary classes. The thoughts about my "future career" leave me to be extremely indecisive
and nervous, at times. I just hope, like people have told me, that "It comes to me." In regards to my
interests and skills, I prefer math and science over reading and history, but it is not because I do
poorly in the subjects. I enjoy solving problems and learning about the human body and all the
fascinating things it can perform, voluntarily and involuntarily. I am a studious individual and
received high grades throughout my educational career, which I hope continues on in college.
Striving to do the best is something vital in wanting to accomplish something in life. Being that I am
a first generation child, one from parents who are immigrants from Montenegro, Europe, I have some
skills which

" My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it." – Clarence B. Kelland.
From as long as I can remember I was his shadow. Everywhere he went I followed, lead by his
gentle hand guiding me along. Until he walked up into the sky and left me alone outside the gates.
2012 the world was supposed to end and fortunately that didn't happen; but mine came to a life
changing stop. My dad passed away on August 31, 2012.
During a vacation my dad got sick and with what I never found out. I'm still left wondering what
disease took him away. Left with bottled up angry and frustration not knowing the full truth. But all I
remember from that traumatic day is waking up early to watch cartoons and the clearly burned
imagine of my father at the bottom of the stairs after he fell.
I was only...show more content...
I lived in a shell castes by my own fears. I felt like an outsiders that didn't belong. Something inside
of me didn't want people to know much I was hurting. Not even my family, and at one point me and
my mothers relationship was stained. I didn't talk to her about anything and my strong personality
got me into many agreements, making me isolate myself even more.
The stress from high school applications, tests, and graduation made me realize the keeping things
bottled up wasn't good for me was the best thing I could discover. Even though I knew this was
true I didn't think it would work. I didn't want to take my own advice. But 8th grade really opened
my eyes and heart to the people who cared about me.
This was the last year I was going to spend with my best friend and this brought us closer. We were
each others dairies, telling everything leaving no secrets. We were always there for one another. I
was relieved to have someone that knows everything good and bad about me and still cared about
me. I was finally understanding my feelings and getting some

from being a toddler in kindergarten, to a becoming a mature young adult who is willing to walk
down a path that will lead me closer to my future. I am also proud of my achievement as a high

I was born July 6th 2001 to my mother; Arlishia Cornist and father, Rickey Smith– Hunter in Dallas,
Texas. I was given the name Patience because at the time my mom was going through a time
where she needed to learn how to patient. Even though I was fine at birth, the doctors had to keep
me there for an extra day for tests since I had the sickle cell trait. As a child I was very spoiled until
later that next year on September 10th 2002 my baby brother Rico Hunter was born. Most of my
family is Creole, Cherokee Indian and Black which I now understand since over half of my
families on both sides are from Louisiana. Unfortunately a year after my brother was born my
parents got divorced and we moved away from our apartments in Mesquite to be close to our
grandparents. Since then I now live in Oak Cliff with my mom, brother and both of my
grandparents. We often go on vacations twice every year. One I vaguely remember was when we
took a trip to Disneyworld in Florida and stayed at a hotel where they brought out lions for
entertainment every day. My grandparents are real big on...show more content...
I got into the step team and eventually got more interested in extracurricular activities. I took part
in the oratorical, spelling bee and was the vice president of T.A.F.E. an association of future
educators. We often went on many field trips around the community helping others and
volunteering. Was enrolled in the Dallas Black Dance Academy where I have been dancing for 6
years. I still have contact with some of my friends from my earlier years including my best friend
Marisa of 6 years. The way we meet was very childlike now that I realize. I was getting bullied by an
old friend and I saw her walking alone and asked if she was friends with her. She said no cause she
ignored her when she tried saying hi and we've been best friends ever

In 2002, I was born in China. I was abandoned by my birth parents in the Hunan Province, in
Yiyang City; they left me in front of a community center. I lived in an orphanage there for first
fifteen months of my life. In 2003, I was adopted by my mother, who was single at the time. My
mother lived in New York City in a townhouse on East 73rd Street. During my initial two and a half
years in New York, I often begged mymother for a father. My dream for a father came true. At age
four, my mother got married, and we moved into my new father's apartment, across from the
Metropolitan Museum of Art.
We have since moved to Katonah, NY, forty–five miles north of the city, for various reasons; one
being that I had a love for space and outdoor activities, such as horseback riding and swimming.
During those years in school in Katonah, my sport activities included basketball and soccer. I

Ceramics is one of my true passions. It began when I was very young and continued through a
5–week summer program at Choate in 2016, and now at Fay as my favored art class. At Choate, I
advanced significantly in ceramics, learning and developing new clay and glazing techniques; one
of the methods I created was a marbling technique which impressed my fellow students and was
used by upper classmen for the rest of the summer. In my present ceramics class at Fay, I have
worked on hand building pieces, whistles, and using slabs to create boxes, vases. I am hoping to get
onto the Varsity Art team next year.
This year at Fay I have been lucky enough to be included in a teaching program for the lower
schoolers. Math and art are two of my strongest subjects, so, my work with the lower schoolers has
been in these areas. I get exceptional satisfaction helping younger children

When I sit back and consider the significant events in my past, the important aspects of my life,
and my future goals, the underlying theme is my appreciation for life's struggles, people who
help you through them and how they make you who you are. Throughout my entire life I have
experienced the joys of accomplishing tasks and the sorrow of hardships, but no matter whether
they were good or bad experiences they all helped to shape who I am today and who I will
become tomorrow. My life began with an accomplishment when I was born into a loving family
on a hot summer day in July. I grew up in Hamilton, Illinois, a small town situated along the
mighty Mississippi River. I am the youngest of my family with my two older brothers being seven
and ten years older than me. I am also blessed to be a part of a larger extended family that lives
close to home which has had a significant impact on my upbringing. At the young age of eleven
years old, I experienced one of the greatest tragedies of my life. My brother was taken from me
when he was struck by a vehicle and sustained injuries he could not recover from. It was this
moment in my life where I realized more than ever the importance of family. This was a very
difficult and confusing time for me, but with the strength of my family and the Christian faith my

English was hard but with dedication and time, learning it was possible. Since elementary school, I

In middle school, I began to receive student of the month certificates and the ESL department gave

know what I need to do academically to get accepted to UCLA and I am capable with the right

I was born July 18, 2001 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. My mother had just recently turned 17 and
my father was a 21 year old with two children already. It was my fourth birthday when he walked
out on me and my mom. At first he'd still come around and see me but eventually the visits got
shorter and further a part. Now I only see him twice a year, when he takes me to his family reunion
and on my birthday, when he takes me to Kings Dominion.
My mother had several scholarship offers but since she was a single parent who wasn't receiving
much help she dropped out of school and started working two jobs, McDonald's and Wal–Mart.
Nothing fancy, but it kept the bills paid. She taught me how to read at 4 years old because she
always wanted me to be better than her and she said education is the key to success. When I started

handle my depression and gain weight again. It was because of Dr. Martin and Dr. Rooney that I
developed a bit of self confidence. Without their help I never would have had enough confidence
to get a boyfriend. I'm both thankful and resentful for that. I started dating Da'Shawn when I was

Career Autobiography
Throughout life, people are influenced by others when it comes to career paths. For example,
career paths can be directed by our backgrounds such as family and culture. The career path I chose
has been influenced by family and those who support me and encourage me during school. The
career path, I have chosen is to work with women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I
will discuss how self–assessments helped me gain an understanding, which careers might be worth
pursuing because of my interests.
I have always been encouraged by my family to volunteer to gain an understanding that experience
is valuable, even if the work is unpaid. While volunteering, it allowed me to see if I could handle
dealing with trauma victims in hospital settings. I chose the major of psychology because I always
wanted to become a therapist and help those in difficult life situations. I knew that my family
wanted me to feel rewarded and satisfied with the career I choose and to not focus mainly on
salary. My family always thought it was important to get a college education and a good career.
They did not attend school themselves and know the struggles of finding a job without the
qualifications and education. The cultural influences that impacted my decision was that my family
can understand my career path. My family looks at counselors as important people in society and as
a career worth pursuing. Both of my parents are from Poland and did not attend school in the

My Academic Autobiography Thinking about college and your future career can be very
overwhelming at the beginning. There's so much to consider when it comes to getting ready for
college: where to go and what to study. I've heard it said that sometimes a student will enter college
fully aware of what they want to do in life, and doggedly reach their undergraduate goal after four
years of diligent study.
My college career didn't start off on the best footing. I was a dreadful student in high school,
chronically absent, and not doing homework even when I could be bothered to attend class. My
Arlington, Virginia high school was competitive, and my...show more content...
After a year of this mediocre performance, the worst possible thing happened from the perspective
of academic success: I fell in love with a graduating senior. She was returning to her native
Delaware on graduation, and with the finely honed reasoning that only eighteen year olds can
display, I decided the obvious response on my part was to drop out and go with her.
Rather than bore the faithful reader with the details, suffice it to say that over the course of the next
ten years, while moving around the East Coast, I amassed piecemeal credit from Shepherd College,
Virginia Commonwealth University, Northern Virginia Community College, North Carolina
Wesleyan College, and Strayer University. Meanwhile, I had changed majors from Music
Composition to Music Education to Communications before finally becoming involved with
information technology.
The '90s were a great time for technical people. No one cared about college degrees, as demand for
competent labor was too high for employers to care about anything other than ability. After the burst
of the dot–com bubble, however, things changed completely. One of those changes was my
attitude toward completing my degree. Since the ads for jobs in my field had gone from saying
"Associate degree preferred" to "Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred," it seemed that the
time had come to finish what I had started. There

I am divorced and the father of 3 children. I grew up in a farm community in North Carolina, and

from the third grade until I graduated high school. During my Junior and Senior years of high
school, I also worked part time for an industrial electrical company. I learned a great deal about
life in those years. Most teenagers my age were attending parties or working at the local grocery

floods, and other natural disasters, and even tracked down a man who had murdered his wife in
Milwaukee, WI. After about a year and a half, I was offered a position as a Switch Technician in
the Arlington, TX office. I really enjoyed working in the Switch and learned a great deal more about
the wireless industry. It was during this time that downtown Fort Worth was struck by a devastating

always wanted to open up a small business so I thought maybe I will try this. Still I could not

This is not simply an autobiography. This is a narrative centralized around my yesterdays and the
effects the choices of my past have had on my todays and tomorrows. This is a literary
progression encompassing the results of fifteen years of life, and a celebration of the possible
outcomes of many more to come. This is a tale of failure and the immense growth that resulted in
recuperation. This is my story, how I learned to carve my own path, to not be simplistic, to
withstand conforming to the binding standards of society, and to be the definition of excellence.

I have experienced some of the best and worst memories throughout the last two years, and along the
way have begun to discover who I am, where my priorities lie, and what actually matters in my life. I
have failed, something that I have never known up until this point, and have, with much difficulty,
adapted to accepting, learning, and improving from it. Where I initially responded by crying from
stress (which, I will be honest, I still do at times), I now take a step back to breathe and try to
make the best of the situation. I can now better accept criticism; where formerly I would become
defensive and feel under attack, I now accept constructive judgment quite a bit more gracefully. I
endured my worst class, being driver's education, where I was quite simply not challenged enough
mentally as well as socially; but have had the opportunity to experience some of the best courses
of my life thus far. I have defined my view of academic success, of which I used to say "scoring
satisfactory grades." I now view intellectual prosperity as having gained something, whether that
be more knowledge about the actual class, achieving an exceptional grade, or just improving my
life in general as a result of a course. This, of course, is something I wish to achieve, not due to the
fact that it is expected of me, but rather because it is one of the few opportunities I will have in life
to improve myself as a whole without

Although I am a freshman, UGA is not that foreign to me. My sister, Amanda, just recently

The Reflection Of The Autobiography Of My Life
Henry Ford once said," Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success." I believe
everything that happens in life happens at the time we take our first breath in the world. We typically
get our greatest memories and our greatest successes at our life's milestones. Some of these
milestones include, graduating high school, attending college, getting engaged, and getting
married. These milestones are what shape us into the person we are today. May I present you the
graduating Class of 2013...the moment our lives change, the moment we turn the page to write
about the next chapters in the autobiography of our life. High School is where our lives start to
shift us and molds us into the person we are today. Growing up I never really remember staying at
one school an entire year. My parents got divorced when I was only five years old. When I was
nine my mother remarried, her husband at the time had a job that kept us on the move year after
year never really getting us to know anyone in the town we moved to. It wasn't until my junior
year in high school when my mother and her husband got a divorce and my mom moved back to her
home town. Knowing now I would be able to start to make friends and able to focus on a social life
as well as an academic lifestyle. I was wrong being I was transferring from school to school I was
behind in some of my classes and I wasn't learning as fast and effective as the other students. My

My Educational Autobiography Essay
My educational autobiography consists of my time from my early days in elementary school
until the day I graduated from the University of Southern California. I had many great experiences
as well as some dreadful ones. The experiences from my educational career will mold the teacher I
will become in the future. My elementary schools years were spent at Kenter Canyon
Elementary. I remember my very first teacher in Kindergarten, Mrs. G, she was very kind to all
her students. Her compassion towards students who were scared to be away from their parents
for the first time was extraordinary. Another memory I have at Kenter was when, Ms.
Montgomery, who was in charge of the cafeteria would come to our fifth grade class to discuss
her life experiences during the civil rights movement. Mr. Osay, my teacher would let her speak
to us directly and I thought it was incredible that she was a few inches away from Dr. King when
they marched on Washington. Mr. Osay was a great teacher, but I also recall a moment when one
of the female students wrote me a note. Mr. Osay, took the note from my hand, gathered the class
together, and read it aloud. I was humiliated and I did not want to go back to school. This is an
experience I will remember when I am a teacher, to ensure my students feel safe and welcomed at
all times in my class. My middle school years were spent at Paul Revere Middle School. My sixth

young mind didn't have the capacity to think long term.
In 1982, I hitchhiked from Florida to Vermont, with my two year old son. I had never been out of

Kalamazoo, Michigan. Ever since I was little I loved bouncing balls and playing with things that
made noise. When I got a little bit older my mom signed me up for baseball and basketball. After a
couple of years I got good and now I play for the Michigan Rebels which is a baseball club and the
Gull Lake Blue Devils Basketball. I also have many hobbies I love to do, and I have a great family.
Ever since I was little I loved playing sports. My mom introduced me to to basketball at a young age.
I played GLYBA for a couple of years, and then in fourth grade I joined a travel basketball team,
called a the Gull Lake Blue Devils. When I was in second grade I played little league baseball. I
played little league for many years, till I was in sixth grade. I tried out for the Michigan Rebels, and
I made the team.
I have six people in my family; my mom, dad, my brother sam, my dog Bella, and my brother's cat
Gracie. My mom is a big part of my life. She takes me to most of my sporting events, she also takes
me to my friends houses, and she helps me with school work, sometimes. My dad is also a big part
of my life. He took care of me when I was sick. For example I had pneumonia for two weeks and he
took care of me. My dad also teaches me music. He is...show more content...
I love hanging with my friends. When my friend come over we like to be running around and
playing sports. Most of the time we are playing football, baseball, kickball, wiffleball, basketball
or lemon. (Lemon is a game where you try to hit your opponent with a tennis ball.) Some of my
other hobbies are playing, listening, and dancing to music. I listen to a lot of rap. Some of my
favorite rappers are Drake, Eminem, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Flo Rida. When I am not listen to rap I
listen to The Police, Led Zeppelin, and the Beatles. One of my other favorite hobbies is playing,
walking, running with my dog,

Educational Autobiography Essay
Miguel Huerta Period 1 September 8, 2010 Educational Autobiography A lot of people think
education is just something you get in school, but in reality education comes from different
places and people not just school and teachers. For example, way before I started school I was
already being educated by my parents, they taught me how to eat, behave, use the bathroom, talk,
and a lot of other things that help out in life. I started my educational career in John F. Kennedy
Elementary. I don't really remember my years there because I only went there for Kindergarten
and 1st grade. After that, I went to Sepulveda Elementary. That was a learning experience because I
had to basically be on my own for a couple of days since I was the new...show more content...
Sadly to say, I didn't really have a teacher in middle school that made a big impact in my life but I
matured on my own and got my stuff together and put my work first and girls second. When I
graduated 8th grade I was so excited because I had accomplished something special but I knew
that wasn't the end but in fact a beginning to an even bigger obstacle, high school. I still remember
on the day of graduation my mom went alone because my dad was working and after I told her
that this wasn't the last time she would see me walking down for a diploma because in couple
more years I would be doing it again. That was a big deal because she never graduated high school
neither did my dad because my mom had me and they had to care for me. Then finally I made it
to high school. This was the place where everything I learned up to now would help me. My 9th
grade year was really good I met new friends that I still talk to, got good grades but other than that it
was a normal year. When I went to 10th grade I was in AOF (Academy of Finance) or Global. At
first I was a little optimistic about being in it because I didn't really know a lot of people but I stayed
because I was a little curious about the whole business stuff going on in there. It was a good
decision to stay because I really enjoy all the business related work and I am looking forward to even
having some sort of a business career later on in life. The teacher that really made an impact on me
is the teacher for whom I

Autobiography College Essay

  • 1. My Career As A Career Autobiography A career autobiography has to probably be one of the most interesting and thoughtful essays I've had to write so far. I am seventeen years old and am attending my first semester in college. I look forward to getting good grades, opening my mind to new things, and eventually graduating college. However, I have absolutely no idea what I want to be doing in the future. My indecisiveness is at such a high level that I probably change my future career every other day. At this point in life, my family, advisors, and professors are telling me that I don't need to know what I want to be doing for a living, in the future, yet, I feel that I should know. I don't want to be wasting my time and taking unnecessary classes. The thoughts about my "future career" leave me to be extremely indecisive and nervous, at times. I just hope, like people have told me, that "It comes to me." In regards to my interests and skills, I prefer math and science over reading and history, but it is not because I do poorly in the subjects. I enjoy solving problems and learning about the human body and all the fascinating things it can perform, voluntarily and involuntarily. I am a studious individual and received high grades throughout my educational career, which I hope continues on in college. Striving to do the best is something vital in wanting to accomplish something in life. Being that I am a first generation child, one from parents who are immigrants from Montenegro, Europe, I have some skills which Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Student Autobiography Examples Student Autobiography " My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it." – Clarence B. Kelland. From as long as I can remember I was his shadow. Everywhere he went I followed, lead by his gentle hand guiding me along. Until he walked up into the sky and left me alone outside the gates. 2012 the world was supposed to end and fortunately that didn't happen; but mine came to a life changing stop. My dad passed away on August 31, 2012. During a vacation my dad got sick and with what I never found out. I'm still left wondering what disease took him away. Left with bottled up angry and frustration not knowing the full truth. But all I remember from that traumatic day is waking up early to watch cartoons and the clearly burned imagine of my father at the bottom of the stairs after he fell. I was only...show more content... I lived in a shell castes by my own fears. I felt like an outsiders that didn't belong. Something inside of me didn't want people to know much I was hurting. Not even my family, and at one point me and my mothers relationship was stained. I didn't talk to her about anything and my strong personality got me into many agreements, making me isolate myself even more. The stress from high school applications, tests, and graduation made me realize the keeping things bottled up wasn't good for me was the best thing I could discover. Even though I knew this was true I didn't think it would work. I didn't want to take my own advice. But 8th grade really opened my eyes and heart to the people who cared about me. This was the last year I was going to spend with my best friend and this brought us closer. We were each others dairies, telling everything leaving no secrets. We were always there for one another. I was relieved to have someone that knows everything good and bad about me and still cared about me. I was finally understanding my feelings and getting some Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. College Application Autobiography I was born July 6th 2001 to my mother; Arlishia Cornist and father, Rickey Smith– Hunter in Dallas, Texas. I was given the name Patience because at the time my mom was going through a time where she needed to learn how to patient. Even though I was fine at birth, the doctors had to keep me there for an extra day for tests since I had the sickle cell trait. As a child I was very spoiled until later that next year on September 10th 2002 my baby brother Rico Hunter was born. Most of my family is Creole, Cherokee Indian and Black which I now understand since over half of my families on both sides are from Louisiana. Unfortunately a year after my brother was born my parents got divorced and we moved away from our apartments in Mesquite to be close to our grandparents. Since then I now live in Oak Cliff with my mom, brother and both of my grandparents. We often go on vacations twice every year. One I vaguely remember was when we took a trip to Disneyworld in Florida and stayed at a hotel where they brought out lions for entertainment every day. I still have contact with some of my friends from my earlier years including my best friend Marisa of 6 years. The way we meet was very childlike now that I realize. I was getting bullied by an old friend and I saw her walking alone and asked if she was friends with her. • 5. Personal Autobiography Sample In 2002, I was born in China. I was abandoned by my birth parents in the Hunan Province, in Yiyang City; they left me in front of a community center. I lived in an orphanage there for first fifteen months of my life. In 2003, I was adopted by my mother, who was single at the time. My mother lived in New York City in a townhouse on East 73rd Street. During my initial two and a half years in New York, I often begged mymother for a father. My dream for a father came true. At age four, my mother got married, and we moved into my new father's apartment, across from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We have since moved to Katonah, NY, forty–five miles north of the city, for various reasons; one being that I had a love for space and outdoor activities, such as horseback riding and swimming. During those years in school in Katonah, my sport activities included basketball and soccer. I particularly revel in basketball,...show more content... Ceramics is one of my true passions. It began when I was very young and continued through a 5–week summer program at Choate in 2016, and now at Fay as my favored art class. At Choate, I advanced significantly in ceramics, learning and developing new clay and glazing techniques; one of the methods I created was a marbling technique which impressed my fellow students and was used by upper classmen for the rest of the summer. In my present ceramics class at Fay, I have worked on hand building pieces, whistles, and using slabs to create boxes, vases. I am hoping to get onto the Varsity Art team next year. This year at Fay I have been lucky enough to be included in a teaching program for the lower schoolers. Math and art are two of my strongest subjects, so, my work with the lower schoolers has been in these areas. • 6. Examples Of Autobiography For College Autobiography When I sit back and consider the significant events in my past, the important aspects of my life, and my future goals, the underlying theme is my appreciation for life's struggles, people who help you through them and how they make you who you are. Throughout my entire life I have experienced the joys of accomplishing tasks and the sorrow of hardships, but no matter whether they were good or bad experiences they all helped to shape who I am today and who I will become tomorrow. My life began with an accomplishment when I was born into a loving family on a hot summer day in July. I grew up in Hamilton, Illinois, a small town situated along the mighty Mississippi River. I am the youngest of my family with my two older brothers being seven and ten years older than me. I am also blessed to be a part of a larger extended family that lives close to home which has had a significant impact on my upbringing. At the young age of eleven years old, I experienced one of the greatest tragedies of my life. My brother was taken from me when he was struck by a vehicle and sustained injuries he could not recover from. It was this moment in my life where I realized more than ever the importance of family. This was a very difficult and confusing time for me, but with the strength of my family and the Christian faith my family...show more content... I was brought to the Unites States when I was 8 years old. Learning English was hard but with dedication and time, learning it was possible. Since elementary school, I was an outstanding student. I was still learning English and had to take special classes such as ESL. In middle school, I began to receive student of the month certificates and the ESL department gave me the opportunity to take some non–ESL classes. I Believe that with my hard work ethic and hunger to succeed I will one day be able to go there. My plan is to transfer from AVC with an associates in psychology to UCLA and obtain my masters in Forensic Psychology. I know what I need to do academically to get accepted to UCLA and I am capable with the right support. The only obstacle in my way is my financial situation. This scholarship would be of great assistance in supporting my goal to transfer, pay for my books, school supplies, printing cards, and gas cards to be able to get to school every day. This scholarship would also help me reduce my stress levels and would allow me to stay focus on getting straight A's. Being a low income or an undocumented student has tough me a lot of lessons and I'm not embarrassed, on the contrary, I am privileged to have the opportunity to apply for this fascinating scholarship program. • 8. Example Of Autobiography For College I was born July 18, 2001 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. My mother had just recently turned 17 and my father was a 21 year old with two children already. It was my fourth birthday when he walked out on me and my mom. At first he'd still come around and see me but eventually the visits got shorter and further a part. Now I only see him twice a year, when he takes me to his family reunion and on my birthday, when he takes me to Kings Dominion. My mother had several scholarship offers but since she was a single parent who wasn't receiving much help she dropped out of school and started working two jobs, McDonald's and Wal–Mart. Nothing fancy, but it kept the bills paid. She taught me how to read at 4 years old because she always wanted me to be better than her and she said education is the key to success. I was 11 years old when my mom first realized I was losing weight. I wasn't extremely skinny but I was under what I should've been. She got me a lot of help and also found two great counselors who helped me learn how to handle my depression and gain weight again. It was because of Dr. Martin and Dr. Rooney that I developed a bit of self confidence. Without their help I never would have had enough confidence to get a boyfriend. I'm both thankful and resentful for that. I started dating Da'Shawn when I was 13 and he was 16. I never told my mom because I knew she didn't want me dating until I was 16 and she wouldn't have approved of our age difference. But I didn't care that he was older than me. • 9. Example Of Career Autobiography Career Autobiography Throughout life, people are influenced by others when it comes to career paths. For example, career paths can be directed by our backgrounds such as family and culture. The career path I chose has been influenced by family and those who support me and encourage me during school. The career path, I have chosen is to work with women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I will discuss how self–assessments helped me gain an understanding, which careers might be worth pursuing because of my interests. I have always been encouraged by my family to volunteer to gain an understanding that experience is valuable, even if the work is unpaid. While volunteering, it allowed me to see if I could handle dealing with trauma victims in hospital settings. I chose the major of psychology because I always wanted to become a therapist and help those in difficult life situations. I knew that my family wanted me to feel rewarded and satisfied with the career I choose and to not focus mainly on salary. My family always thought it was important to get a college education and a good career. They did not attend school themselves and know the struggles of finding a job without the qualifications and education. The cultural influences that impacted my decision was that my family can understand my career path. My family looks at counselors as important people in society and as a career worth pursuing. • 10. Academic Autobiography Essay Galindo 1 Juan Galindo Professor Student Success September 9, 2013 My Academic Autobiography Thinking about college and your future career can be very overwhelming at the beginning. There's so much to consider when it comes to getting ready for college: where to go and what to study. I've heard it said that sometimes a student will enter college fully aware of what they want to do in life, and doggedly reach their undergraduate goal after four years of diligent study. My college career didn't start off on the best footing. I was a dreadful student in high school, chronically absent, and not doing homework even when I could be bothered to attend class. My Arlington, Virginia high school was competitive, and my...show more content... After a year of this mediocre performance, the worst possible thing happened from the perspective of academic success: I fell in love with a graduating senior. She was returning to her native Delaware on graduation, and with the finely honed reasoning that only eighteen year olds can display, I decided the obvious response on my part was to drop out and go with her. Rather than bore the faithful reader with the details, suffice it to say that over the course of the next ten years, while moving around the East Coast, I amassed piecemeal credit from Shepherd College, Virginia Commonwealth University, Northern Virginia Community College, North Carolina Wesleyan College, and Strayer University. Meanwhile, I had changed majors from Music Composition to Music Education to Communications before finally becoming involved with information technology. The '90s were a great time for technical people. No one cared about college degrees, as demand for competent labor was too high for employers to care about anything other than ability. After the burst of the dot–com bubble, however, things changed completely. One of those changes was my attitude toward completing my degree. Since the ads for jobs in my field had gone from saying "Associate degree preferred" to "Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred," it seemed that the time had come to finish what I had started. • 11. Autobiography Essay I am divorced and the father of 3 children. I grew up in a farm community in North Carolina, and when I was 15, my family moved to Lexington, South Carolina. I attended City High School, taking classes that concentrated on Electrical and Electronic Engineering and math. I also played football from the third grade until I graduated high school. During my Junior and Senior years of high school, I also worked part time for an industrial electrical company. I learned a great deal about life in those years. Most teenagers my age were attending parties or working at the local grocery store. I, however, was working 30 or so hours a week installing electrical motors, 3 phase lighting, and 480 volt transformers. Once I graduated from high...show more content... I immediately went to work for the Department of Defense as a very part time "contractor." I also worked full–time as a State Trooper for the state of South Carolina and a city police officer in a town just outside of Fort Hood, TX. During these times I started going to college part–time at Central Texas College and Tarleton State University. In August of 2000, I took a contract position with a new company called Verizon Wireless. I worked as a Network Analyst in their Network Operations Center (NOC) in Southlake, Texas. After 5 months I was hired permanently as a Technician in the NOC. During my time in the NOC, I worked through many hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters, and even tracked down a man who had murdered his wife in Milwaukee, WI. After about a year and a half, I was offered a position as a Switch Technician in the Arlington, TX office. I really enjoyed working in the Switch and learned a great deal more about the wireless industry. It was during this time that downtown Fort Worth was struck by a devastating tornado. I was the only switch technician that could make it into the office due to road closures, flooding, and other dangers. I worked for over 30 hours straight, repairing damage, dispatching generators, and restoring service to Fort Worth and the surrounding area. After about 2 years in the Arlington Switch, I was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. I was always different from the other kids in my class. I was reserved and quiet. Most would tell me that I always look like I was in deep thought. Well that's because I was. I always thought that I thought deeper and viewed the world differently than other people my age. I had a great interest in people, in fact they fascinated me. I greatly enjoyed meeting new people and listening to their life or things they like. So I guess one could say my interest in Anthropology dates back to grade school. History was always my best subject, I would always sit at the front of the class "bright eyed and bushy tailed". But I especially loved when they talked about different civilizations of people and the thing they did. When it was time to decide where I wanted to go to college and...show more content... So I just went with what I had done all my life, music. I loved music ever since my first piano lesson when I was eight but it soon turned into a chore. I began to hate playing but still I continued on. I often told myself that I would get better, but the more I thought about being a band director for the rest of my life the more I started to realize this was not for me. Then after a lot of thought I changed my major to business. My life seemed to be going know where. There was so many things that I knew I wanted to do I just did not know how to pursue them. I had always wanted to open up a small business so I thought maybe I will try this. Still I could not shake this feeling that I had no idea what I needed to do with my life. I prayed and prayed for God to show me a sign, anything. The sign did not come until my last semester at ICC, when someone suggested that I could study anthropology. At first I had no idea what it was or such major existed, so I did my research and found this to be the major I was looking for. I already had the University of Tennessee in mind and when I found out that Anthropology was offered I knew this was the right Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. This is not simply an autobiography. This is a narrative centralized around my yesterdays and the effects the choices of my past have had on my todays and tomorrows. This is a literary progression encompassing the results of fifteen years of life, and a celebration of the possible outcomes of many more to come. This is a tale of failure and the immense growth that resulted in recuperation. This is my story, how I learned to carve my own path, to not be simplistic, to withstand conforming to the binding standards of society, and to be the definition of excellence. This is an account of my life, so far as I can recall it. I do not remember much of my early childhood; I was born on January 25, 2001, at 16:59 at the Carolusziekenhuis in...show more content... I have experienced some of the best and worst memories throughout the last two years, and along the way have begun to discover who I am, where my priorities lie, and what actually matters in my life. I have failed, something that I have never known up until this point, and have, with much difficulty, adapted to accepting, learning, and improving from it. Where I initially responded by crying from stress (which, I will be honest, I still do at times), I now take a step back to breathe and try to make the best of the situation. I can now better accept criticism; where formerly I would become defensive and feel under attack, I now accept constructive judgment quite a bit more gracefully. I endured my worst class, being driver's education, where I was quite simply not challenged enough mentally as well as socially; but have had the opportunity to experience some of the best courses of my life thus far. I have defined my view of academic success, of which I used to say "scoring satisfactory grades." I now view intellectual prosperity as having gained something, whether that be more knowledge about the actual class, achieving an exceptional grade, or just improving my life in general as a result of a course. This, of course, is something I wish to achieve, not due to the fact that it is expected of me, but rather because it is one of the few opportunities I will have in life to improve myself as a whole without Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. College Application Autobiography Although I am a freshman, UGA is not that foreign to me. My sister, Amanda, just recently graduated in May of 2015 with a double major in Biology and Psychology. Because I have had an older sibling here before me, it has allowed me to have a personal mentor in getting familiar with the campus and different activities going on here at UGA. So far, I love UGA and thecollege experience. Although, I do occasionally miss my mother's cooking and sleeping in my own bed. But before I came to UGA, I had lived my entire life in Woodstock, GA. I grew up in two different houses and playing almost every sport that they offered. Ever since the first day of soccer, I have fallen in love with sports. As a started to get older, I played baseball and basketball. However, eventually baseball was getting to slow and started to bore me. So after the season right before my freshman year of high school I stopped. At this point I was just focusing on one sport, which was basketball. I played basketball for both years on my middle school team, and continued on to become a floater for the JV and Freshman teams at Etowah, my high school. Sophomore year I made varsity, but I do not think I even set foot on the court during a game unless it...show more content... • 15. The Reflection Of The Autobiography Of My Life Henry Ford once said," Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success." I believe everything that happens in life happens at the time we take our first breath in the world. We typically get our greatest memories and our greatest successes at our life's milestones. Some of these milestones include, graduating high school, attending college, getting engaged, and getting married. These milestones are what shape us into the person we are today. May I present you the graduating Class of 2013...the moment our lives change, the moment we turn the page to write about the next chapters in the autobiography of our life. High School is where our lives start to shift us and molds us into the person we are today. Growing up I never really remember staying at one school an entire year. My parents got divorced when I was only five years old. When I was nine my mother remarried, her husband at the time had a job that kept us on the move year after year never really getting us to know anyone in the town we moved to. It wasn't until my junior year in high school when my mother and her husband got a divorce and my mom moved back to her home town. Knowing now I would be able to start to make friends and able to focus on a social life as well as an academic lifestyle. I was wrong being I was transferring from school to school I was behind in some of my classes and I wasn't learning as fast and effective as the other students. My mother and I was concerned being it was my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. My Educational Autobiography Essay My educational autobiography consists of my time from my early days in elementary school until the day I graduated from the University of Southern California. I had many great experiences as well as some dreadful ones. The experiences from my educational career will mold the teacher I will become in the future. My elementary schools years were spent at Kenter Canyon Elementary. I remember my very first teacher in Kindergarten, Mrs. G, she was very kind to all her students. Her compassion towards students who were scared to be away from their parents for the first time was extraordinary. Another memory I have at Kenter was when, Ms. Montgomery, who was in charge of the cafeteria would come to our fifth grade class to discuss her life experiences during the civil rights movement. Mr. Osay, my teacher would let her speak to us directly and I thought it was incredible that she was a few inches away from Dr. King when they marched on Washington. Mr. Osay was a great teacher, but I also recall a moment when one of the female students wrote me a note. Mr. Osay, took the note from my hand, gathered the class together, and read it aloud. I was humiliated and I did not want to go back to school. This is an experience I will remember when I am a teacher, to ensure my students feel safe and welcomed at all times in my class. My middle school years were spent at Paul Revere Middle School. My sixth grade English teacher, Ms. Schwartz, was the first teacher Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Personal Autobiography Sample I graduated from Mosely High School in Panama City, FL. in 1976, just after I turned sixteen. I enrolled in Gulf Coast Community College, pursuing Elementary Education. Not because I wanted to teach school, but because my parent's wanted it. I wanted to go to the beach, and when it got too hard to schedule in my beach time, school had to go. I was waiting tables, making $400 per day, my young mind didn't have the capacity to think long term. In 1982, I hitchhiked from Florida to Vermont, with my two year old son. I had never been out of the south, and wanted to go somewhere new. While in Vermont, I met the man I would spend the next twenty years of my life with. He was in the Navy, and my "career" history shows that, it is more of a job history. We transferred ten times while we were together, my focus was my children as he was home only about three months a year. I had some skills, and quickly picked up other skills when needed. I am tired of scrambling to figure out what to do next, which is why I returned to college, after thirty–seven years out. Following is a list of most of my jobs, пѓ Seamstress in Long Beach, CA. • 20. Educational Autobiography Essay Miguel Huerta Period 1 September 8, 2010 Educational Autobiography A lot of people think education is just something you get in school, but in reality education comes from different places and people not just school and teachers. For example, way before I started school I was already being educated by my parents, they taught me how to eat, behave, use the bathroom, talk, and a lot of other things that help out in life. I started my educational career in John F. Kennedy Elementary. I don't really remember my years there because I only went there for Kindergarten and 1st grade. Sadly to say, I didn't really have a teacher in middle school that made a big impact in my life but I matured on my own and got my stuff together and put my work first and girls second. When I graduated 8th grade I was so excited because I had accomplished something special but I knew that wasn't the end but in fact a beginning to an even bigger obstacle, high school. I still remember on the day of graduation my mom went alone because my dad was working and after I told her that this wasn't the last time she would see me walking down for a diploma because in couple more years I would be doing it again. That was a big deal because she never graduated high school neither did my dad because my mom had me and they had to care for me. Then finally I made it to high school. This was the place where everything I learned up to now would help me. My 9th grade year was really good I met new friends that I still talk to, got good grades but other than that it was a normal year. When I went to 10th grade I was in AOF (Academy of Finance) or Global. At first I was a little optimistic about being in it because I didn't really know a lot of people but I stayed because I was a little curious about the whole business stuff going on in there. It was a good decision to stay because I really enjoy all the business related work and I am looking forward to even having some sort of a business career later on in life.
