A career autobiography has to probably be one of the most interesting and thoughtful essays I've
had to write so far. I am seventeen years old and am attending my first semester in college. I look
forward to getting good grades, opening my mind to new things, and eventually graduating college.
However, I have absolutely no idea what I want to be doing in the future. My indecisiveness is at
such a high level that I probably change my future career every other day. At this point in life, my
family, advisors, and professors are telling me that I don't need to know what I want to be doing for
a living, in the future, yet, I feel that I should know. I don't want to be wasting my time and taking
unnecessary classes. The thoughts about my "future career" leave me to be extremely indecisive
and nervous, at times. I just hope, like people have told me, that "It comes to me." In regards to my
interests and skills, I prefer math and science over reading and history, but it is not because I do
poorly in the subjects. I enjoy solving problems and learning about the human body and all the
fascinating things it can perform, voluntarily and involuntarily. I am a studious individual and
received high grades throughout my educational career, which I hope continues on in college.
Striving to do the best is something vital in wanting to accomplish something in life. Being that I am

I was born July 6th 2001 to my mother; Arlishia Cornist and father, Rickey Smith– Hunter in Dallas,
Texas. I was given the name Patience because at the time my mom was going through a time
where she needed to learn how to patient. Even though I was fine at birth, the doctors had to keep

Ceramics is one of my true passions. It began when I was very young and continued through a
5–week summer program at Choate in 2016, and now at Fay as my favored art class. At Choate, I
advanced significantly in ceramics, learning and developing new clay and glazing techniques; one
of the methods I created was a marbling technique which impressed my fellow students and was
used by upper classmen for the rest of the summer. In my present ceramics class at Fay, I have

After a year of this mediocre performance, the worst possible thing happened from the perspective
of academic success: I fell in love with a graduating senior. She was returning to her native
Delaware on graduation, and with the finely honed reasoning that only eighteen year olds can
display, I decided the obvious response on my part was to drop out and go with her.
Rather than bore the faithful reader with the details, suffice it to say that over the course of the next
ten years, while moving around the East Coast, I amassed piecemeal credit from Shepherd College,

worked full–time as a State Trooper for the state of South Carolina and a city police officer in a

position with a new company called Verizon Wireless. I worked as a Network Analyst in their

So I just went with what I had done all my life, music. I loved music ever since my first piano

I have experienced some of the best and worst memories throughout the last two years, and along the

Although I am a freshman, UGA is not that foreign to me. My sister, Amanda, just recently
graduated in May of 2015 with a double major in Biology and Psychology. Because I have had an

I was a part of clubs, and had close friends that I would hang out with on the weekends as well. I

My educational autobiography consists of my time from my early days in elementary school
until the day I graduated from the University of Southern California. I had many great experiences
as well as some dreadful ones. The experiences from my educational career will mold the teacher I
will become in the future. My elementary schools years were spent at Kenter Canyon
Elementary. I remember my very first teacher in Kindergarten, Mrs. G, she was very kind to all
her students. Her compassion towards students who were scared to be away from their parents
for the first time was extraordinary. Another memory I have at Kenter was when, Ms.
Montgomery, who was in charge of the cafeteria would come to our fifth grade class to discuss
her life experiences during the civil rights movement. Mr. Osay, my teacher would let her speak
to us directly and I thought it was incredible that she was a few inches away from Dr. King when
they marched on Washington. Mr. Osay was a great teacher, but I also recall a moment when one
of the female students wrote me a note. Mr. Osay, took the note from my hand, gathered the class
together, and read it aloud. I was humiliated and I did not want to go back to school. This is an
experience I will remember when I am a teacher, to ensure my students feel safe and welcomed at

I graduated from Mosely High School in Panama City, FL. in 1976, just after I turned sixteen. I
enrolled in Gulf Coast Community College, pursuing Elementary Education. Not because I wanted
to teach school, but because my parent's wanted it. I wanted to go to the beach, and when it got too
hard to schedule in my beach time, school had to go. I was waiting tables, making $400 per day, my
young mind didn't have the capacity to think long term.
In 1982, I hitchhiked from Florida to Vermont, with my two year old son. I had never been out of
the south, and wanted to go somewhere new. While in Vermont, I met the man I would spend the
next twenty years of my life with. He was in the Navy, and my "career" history shows that, it is
more of a job history. We transferred ten times while we were together, my focus was my children
as he was home only about three months a year. I had some skills, and quickly picked up other
skills when needed. I am tired of scrambling to figure out what to do next, which is why I returned to
college, after thirty–seven years out.

then I worked at a little store for about seven years then we moved to and I worked at a big
department store it was fun for a while then drama happens managers are not happy so they take
it out on the employees then then we feel un appreciated just a big cycle I began to hate that place
I started putting applications out at other places. But I did get this one job that I really wanted
until they asked for my high school diploma I was so excited to and I let myself down I knew I
made bad choices but I can't dwell on the past I can only fix what's in my future and that's why I
am here I want to better myself show my kids that if you work hard enough you can do

My Autobiography For College
It was about 10:23 in the morning on a cold, January day when I was born at Borgess Hospital in
Kalamazoo, Michigan. Ever since I was little I loved bouncing balls and playing with things that
made noise. When I got a little bit older my mom signed me up for baseball and basketball. After a
couple of years I got good and now I play for the Michigan Rebels which is a baseball club and the
Gull Lake Blue Devils Basketball. I also have many hobbies I love to do, and I have a great family.
Ever since I was little I loved playing sports. My mom introduced me to to basketball at a young age.
I played GLYBA for a couple of years, and then in fourth grade I joined a travel basketball team,
called a the Gull Lake Blue Devils. When I was in second grade I played little league baseball. I
played little league for many years, till I was in sixth grade. I tried out for the Michigan Rebels, and
I made the team.
I have six people in my family; my mom, dad, my brother sam, my dog Bella, and my brother's cat
Gracie. My mom is a big part of my life. She takes me to most of my sporting events, she also takes
me to my friends houses, and she helps me with school work, sometimes. My dad is also a big part

I love hanging with my friends. When my friend come over we like to be running around and
playing sports. Most of the time we are playing football, baseball, kickball, wiffleball, basketball

education is just something you get in school, but in reality education comes from different

Sadly to say, I didn't really have a teacher in middle school that made a big impact in my life but I
matured on my own and got my stuff together and put my work first and girls second. When I
graduated 8th grade I was so excited because I had accomplished something special but I knew
that wasn't the end but in fact a beginning to an even bigger obstacle, high school. I still remember
on the day of graduation my mom went alone because my dad was working and after I told her
that this wasn't the last time she would see me walking down for a diploma because in couple
more years I would be doing it again. That was a big deal because she never graduated high school
neither did my dad because my mom had me and they had to care for me. Then finally I made it
to high school. This was the place where everything I learned up to now would help me. My 9th
grade year was really good I met new friends that I still talk to, got good grades but other than that it
was a normal year. When I went to 10th grade I was in AOF (Academy of Finance) or Global. At
first I was a little optimistic about being in it because I didn't really know a lot of people but I stayed
because I was a little curious about the whole business stuff going on in there. It was a good
