2. Every New Tech student will present a student led conference. You will present in your advisory class. You will only present to your parents. If you would like extra credit, you may sign up to present for a large group. Your presentation for large group will be centered around a subject or the SLO’s. If several students sign up for the same content area, the teachers will decide who presents for large group. Who presents????
3. Each student will choose their three best projects, writing samples, or speeches from the year. You can choose from any class. You will present these pieces to your parents and talk about why these were the best. What was the process for the project? What SLO’s were covered for the project? Why do you think this was your best work? What do we present?
4. NO!!! Student led conferences are part of your advisory grade. You are required to participate. If you cannot participate or have a prior commitment, you need to schedule a time with your advisory teacher to do your student led conference. Is this optional?
5. If your parents cannot attend, invite someone else. You need to have someone to present to. You can bring an aunty, uncle, grandparent, guardian, or some other important adult. If you cannot find someone to attend for you, please see your advisory teacher and we will find someone for you. What if my parents cannot come?
6. YES!!!! Girls should wear a dress, skirt, or nice pants and an appropriate shirt Boys should wear nice pants or nice shorts, and a collared shirt. Do we have to wear professional dress?
7. Make a power point, use a prezi, a woordle, make a video, sing a song, or use a poster board. BE CREATIVE….. Show your parents what you have learned. What can I use for my presentation?
8. Just like any other project, there will be a rubric. Your parents will be given the rubric and they will score the presentation. How will I be graded?
