2. Introduction
In this lesson we will review
the use of much and many.
Along with this we will also
review about count and
noncount nouns.

3. Objective
 Ss will be able to use much and many correctly.
 Ss will be able to identify with which nouns to use
much or many.
 Ss will have a clearer idea of the terms of count
and noncount nouns.
 Ss will practice the use of this grammar point.

4. Definition:
Much and many mean:
• A large quantity of something.
Examples:
There are many apples at my house.
We don’t have much coffee.

5. When to use many?
 We use many for countable nouns. (Ex. apples, shirts,
restaurants, houses, dogs, bones, etc.)
Example:
 There are many restaurants around my house.
 There are 10 restaurants around my house.
Interrogative:
• How many restaurants are there?
- There are 10 restaurants.

6. When to use much?
 We use much for noncountable nouns. (Ex. coffee,
bread, rice, water, juice, jam, etc.)
Example:
 I have not gotten much money.
 Much time was spent studying for the exam
Interrogative:
• How much money do you have?
- I have a few money.
• How much water is there?
- There is a lot of water.
