Bremen Region regional housing atlas for Bremen Region competition “ Places of the future“ Bremen chose a wide range of associations and organisations, but also inhabitants with innovative ideas to compete with each other on the best integrated solutions for dealing with demographic change competition as instrument to involve and activate local actors and to bring awareness about the impacts of demogrphic change in situ and to demonstrate concrete solutions in handling demographic change in the houisng sector projects in different thematic fields like infrastructure / supply, dwelling, education, culture, work and integration exhibition of the competition posters in several townships in Bremen Region: in order to spread the innovative ideas and to reach a lot of people in the different townships in Bremen region exhibition is also an opportunity for different people for information, meeting, exchange, discussion (For the jury Bremen managed to find people that can also forward the idea of the competition (e.g. the chairman is the former mayor and Prime Minister of Bremen).)
Province of Zeeland Housing Ambassador Appointment of a Housing Ambassador in the municiplaity of Sluis followed with great interest from the other DC NOISE partners Expected results of the housing ambassador: A tested method to deal with the arisen problems on the housing market that result from demographic change, monitoring vacancy, improvement of public space Zeeland and Groningen have started a strong lobby towards the national government to arrange financial help and national support to monitor and aid population decline for these regions
Hamburg There is a thesis by University of Hamburg: everyday needs of poor elderly in peripheral districts cannot be satisfied in their residential areas. statistical survey to reassess this thesis by sending out an e-mail questionnaire about everyday needs, action space, assessment of residential area, social structure districts of inquiry in the city of Hamburg were identified which are heavily affected by aging and poverty processes. Altona, an integrated district with a diverse demographic and social structure was selected as districts of inquiry further course of the project: collected data must be evaluated by statistical methods and prepared for future publications Participation in a meeting of the “Demography Platform Hamburg” on the topic “city development on quarter level – cities in demographic change” in november 2009
Province of Groningen house visits ( Stadskanaal ) house visits with specially trained staff were developed to picture the needs of the elderly In this period the house visits by the senior advisors were continued. In this period the senior advisor contacts elderly who need help immediately. The house visits appear to be a good instrument to fill in the lack of information elderly experience concerning facilities. about 400 contacts with advisors and 600 telephone contacts were registered Personal contact is important for the target group. Most of the elderly like to have a new visit after some years. you can do a lot (professional services and support) but elderly have still problems with loneliness
Province of Groningen “ steunstees” (community centers) offer computer courses for senior citizens . Seniors citizens are offered the opportunity to follow computer courses at a small fee. I CT service point for senior citizens staffed by students: service point for helping the senior citizens when they have problems with ICT computer assembly workshop took place in Winschoten in the framework of reintegration activities: computers are completely reassembled into new computers furnished with the usual software. Senior citizens make use of the workshop to obtain a computer at a reasonable cost There have been reached more participants (more than hundred) than originally expected! introduction of a “touchscreen”: digital link with the local grocery shop, various municipal departments and a mediation point for voluntary help: The extension of a digital service has been started, by introducing a “touchscreen”, a digital link with the local grocery shop, various municipal departments by means of decision trees and a mediation point for voluntary neighbourly help.
