1. INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES MANAGEMENT
GREATER LONDON & S.E. BRANCH
ANNUAL SHERRY EVENING - FISHMONGERS’ HALL
Wednesday 1st October – 7.00 for 7.30pm
River & Wetlands Restoration
at Local & International Scales
Dominic Martyn (EA) & Toni Scarr (DECC)
Dominic Martyn (EA) will give a presentation on World Rivers Day, being celebrated by local Rivers
and Wetlands Community Days programme, providing practical opportunities for people to improve their
local environment and managing flood risk. Dominic will share current stories of events from this
exciting new programme and ask for views on future opportunities around London and the south east.
Toni Scarr (Department of Energy & Climate Change) will be reflecting on the achievements of the
international scale RESTORE project which was designed to encourage the restoration of rivers across
Europe towards a more natural state for increased ecological quality, flood risk reduction, and social and
economic benefits.
BUFFET & WINE
Before these interesting and stimulating presentations, you will be able socialise with IFM members,
speakers and VIP guests in the magnificent setting of Fishmongers’ Hall over a glass or two of fine wines
from Fishmongers’ own cellar and enjoy a select buffet. The event is being generously supported by
sponsorship from Thames Tideway Tunnel, cbec eco-engineering and OHES Environmental, and the cost
for this sumptuous repast and fine wines in this iconic venue is just £15 per head.
Please come along to enjoy what will be a very sociable and illuminating evening.
To assist catering, please let our Secretary know by e-mail or phone as soon as possible if
