FORM

USE
Ο Present Real Conditional χρησιµοποιείται για να αναφερόµαστε:
àτι κάνουµε πάντα σε διάφορες καταστάσεις
àγενικές και επιστηµονικές παρατηρήσεις
Examples:
● If I go to a friend's house for dinner, I usually take a bottle of wine
or some flowers.
● When I have a day off from work, I often go to the beach.
● If the weather is nice, she walks to work.

3. 1st CONDITIONAL
If / When ... Simple Present ..., ... Simple Future- Going to ...
(και ανάποδα...)
Προσοχήà ποτέ δεν µπαίνει ο Μέλλων στο κοµµατι του IF.
Χρήση:
àO 1ος υποθετικός περιγράφει τι πιστεύω οτι θα κάνω σε µια
κατάσταση στο µέλλον. Δεν ξέρω τι θα συµβεί!!! Το υποθέτω ή το
φαντάζοµαι!!!
Π.χ.:
● If I go to my friend's house for dinner tonight, I will take a
bottle of wine.(I am still not sure if I will go to his house or not)

4. ● Jerry will help me with my homework when he has time.
(νοµίζω θα µε βοηθήσει….)
● I am going to read if there is nothing on TV.(Δεν ξέρω τι έχει η
τηλεόραση - θέλω να διαβάσω ….)
● A: What are you going to do if it rains?
B: I am going to stay at home. (κάνω µια υπόθεση για το τι θα κάνω…
µπορεί να πάω και στο σπίτι της Ξένιας…)
● When (if) I have a day off from work, I am going to go to the beach.
( Θέλω να πάω στην παραλία, µπορεί και να µην τα καταφέρω ….. )
● If the weather is nice, she is going to walk to work.
(Μπορεί ο καιρός να είναι χάλια … - επίσης, µπορεί τελικά να πάρει µε το
αυτοκίνητο ο Νίκος…. :))))

5. 2nd CONDITIONAL
● If ... Simple Past ..., ... would + ρήµα απλό ...
Ο Present Unreal Conditional χρησιµοποιείται για να πω τι θα έκανα σε µια υποθετική περίπτωση.
If I owned a car, I would drive to work (αλλά δεν έχω αυτοκίνητο…)
● She would travel around the world if she had more money (αλλά δεν έχει τα χρήµατα….)
● I would read more if I didn't watch so much TV (αλλά, δυστυχώς, βλέπω πολλή τηλεόραση…)
● Mary would move to Japan if she spoke Japanese (αλλά δεν µιλάει ιαπωνικά…)
A: What would you do if you won the lottery?
B: I would buy a house (αλλά δεν θα κερδίσω το λαχείο ποτέεε…..:(((((((

6. If I were ...
ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ: Στο 2nd Conditional το was θεωρείται λάθος . Στα
γραπτά και στις εξετάσεις βάζουµε πάντα were .
(Στην καθηµερινή γλώσσα, όµως, µπορούµε να πούµε was)
Examples:
● If he were French, he would live in Paris.
● If she were rich, she would buy a yacht.
● I would play basketball if I were taller.
● I would buy that computer if it were cheaper
● I would buy that computer if it was cheaper (το δεύτερο µπορώ
να το πω προφορικά….)

7. : 2nd Conditional µε Modal Verbs
Όταν θέλω να προσθέσω νόηµα “θα µπορούσα”, “θα έπρεπε” , “ίσως να” , το
would αλλάζει και γίνεται :
● would + can = could
● would + shall = should
● would + may = might
Π.χ.:
● If I went to Egypt, I could learn Arabic (…θα µπορούσα να µάθω…)
● If she had time, she might go to the party (…ίσως να ερχόταν…)
● If I had more time, I could exercise after work (…θα µπορούσα να πάω
γυµναστήριο…)
● If he invited you, you should go (… θα έπρεπε να πας αν σε καλούσε :(((( -
ευτυχώς που δε σε κάλεσε..:)))))
