The document discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on jobs and the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. It notes that millions of people have lost jobs due to the pandemic and many of these jobs may never return as companies increase automation and look for more pandemic-resistant ways of operating. The pandemic is accelerating the adoption of AI technologies which can perform roles like drivers, warehouse workers, and food preparation more efficiently. Specific jobs that may be replaced by AI include truck drivers, pilots, journalists, lawyers, chefs, bankers, and construction workers. It emphasizes that the future will demand skills in innovation, problem-solving, data analysis, and lifelong learning to work with new AI technologies.

COVID-19 Impact on Jobs
• Millions of people around the world have lost their jobs
due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• After a recession, it usually takes longer for jobs to
reappear
• After this pandemic, many of these jobs lost may NEVER
reappear
• Companies are looking for ways to more resistant to
pandemic
• Reduction in the involvement of humans – Automation.
7. Pandemic and Impact on Industries
Industries are severely affected by the COVID-19 crisis
Some companies may close down or merge
Companies will need to take effective policy and measures in the
short and medium term to survive.
Demand for Jobs
Post-Pandemic is NOT going to increase the number of Jobs
Job market will become highly competitive
Some jobs may disappear
Low skilled Jobs may disappear
Manufacturing industry may consider high-level of automation
Demand for highly skilled jobs will increase

9. Truck Drivers, Shipping Crews & Pilots
AI is going to transform many
jobs. E.g. Self-driving vehicles
will cause 25,000 truckers to lose
their jobs
(Goldman Sachs; CNBC).

10. The Logistics world will Change
1.Amazon Robotics -- use a
combination of AI and
advanced robotics to
provide big box retailers
with unprecedented
logistics solutions.
2.Amazon Robotics creates
learning robots that can
efficiently find and
transport items in
Amazon's warehouses
3.Future Warehouses will
be designed for robots
that can work for 24 hours
and more efficiently.
11. Surveillance and Law Enforcement
New York: Law-enforcement agencies across the city have adopted aerial drones to map
crime scenes, monitor large events and aid search-and-rescue operations
Security Guards, Police, Soldiers, etc.
12. JOURNALISTS
•AI will create new content
Brands like USA Today, CBS and Hearst are already using AI
technology to generate content.
• Wibbitz offers a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that allows
publishers to turn written content into video content through AI
video production.
13. LAWYERS
• Can AI assist Lawyers?
• AI could be effectively deployed to determine every case in which a
particular witness testified, what his/her opinions were, and how
juries reacted, much faster and more thoroughly than any human
investigator ever could.
14. CHEFS
• Chef Watson, it’s able to generate entirely
new recipes from scratch using an
astonishing knowledge of taste chemistry
and flavor pairings.
• Customize to the taste of individuals
• robots like Miso Robotics’ burger-preparing
Flippy are capable of preparing meals and
serving them up at speeds that human chefs
struggle to achieve
• Add table delivery drones into the mix and
you don’t even need human waiters to
deliver the food to customers.
15. FINANCIAL ANALYSTS,
ACCOUNTANTS & BANKERS
• AI can spot patterns and make trades
faster than even the most eagle-eyed of
human analysts.
• With billions of dollars (or more) at
stake, it’s no wonder that machine
learning tools are all the rage, while
some estimates suggest that around 30
percent of banking sector jobs will be
lost to A.I. within the next decade.
16. CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
OR OTHER MANUAL
LABOUR JOBS
• bricklaying on construction
sites, working in
warehouses, or picking fruit and
vegetables on a farm, there’s no
doubt that a large number of manual
labor jobs that once required humans
can now be carried out by robots.
• Ability to work nonstop without
getting tired.
17. HEALTH CARE
• Algorithms which can make diagnoses about disease, AI being used to
make recommendations about the best cancer treatment.
• Wearable devices that can help treat physical disorders.
• Robots carrying out surgery
• Cutting edge technology will have a big impact on a range of medical
professions

Skill #1: Innovation and Creativity
• Technology is at the forefront of every industry, so it’s crucial you remain
creative and innovative.
• According to LinkedIn, creativity is the most in-demand soft skill of the
future.
• This is due to technology replacing many of the mundane, process-related
work that doesn’t require much thought or creativity to perform.
30. 29
Skill #2: Problem-solving and critical thinking
• According to the World Economic Forum, one in three jobs require complex
problem-solving skills and the ability for employees to think critically
• Improve your ability to make decisions and solve problems
33. 32
Skill #5: Data Analysis (Data Science)
• With technology prevalent in every industry, it’s demanding a shift for people to
become more analytical.
• Decisions need to be made based on data analysis. Better decision and better ROI.
• Having the skills to analyse data is of high demand
35. 34
