At
 the
 end
 of
 the
 New
 Media
 course,
 the
 14
 participating
 students
 were
 asked
 to

take
a
survey
in
order
to
evaluate
the
New
Media
course
together
with
the
lecturer’s

method,
 approach
 and
 enthusiasm.
 The
 evaluation
 survey
 was
 accessible
 online

leaving
students
with
the
option
of
taking
it
at
their
own
pace
and
in
the
absence
of

the
lecturer.
To
avoid
bias,
students
were
asked
to
submit
their
answers
before
their

finals
grades
were
delivered.
12
out
of
the
total
 of
14
students
answered
took
the

survey,
offering
responses
from
85.7%
of
the
course
participants.

survey’s
structure
can
be
seen
in
the
attached
document.

The
majority
of
the
answers
given
to
the
questions
asked
is
in
the
higher
positive

range
–
from
good
to
excellent.




The
areas
marked
the
students
as
being
excellent
(obtaining
also
the
majority
vote)

were:

     • The
professor’s
enthusiasm
(91.7%)

     • The
professor’s
use
of
technology
(83.3%)

     • The
professor’s
encouragement
given
to
students
to
express
themselves

         (75%)

     • The
professor’s
availability
to
offer
extra
help
when
asked
(75%)



In
 comparison
 with
 the
 last
 semester
 evaluations,
 this
 semester’s
 shows
 a

considerable
 improvement.
 It
 is
 considered
 that
 the
 newly
 introduced
 online
 live

video
 guest
 lecture
 given
 by
 Dr
 Mugur
 Geana
 of
 the
 University
 of
 Kansas
 from

Lawrense,
Kansas,
USA
together
with
the
Netlog
visit
helped
achieve
such
scores.
As

a
 matter
 of
 fact,
 the
 Netlog
 vizit
 and
 the
 guest
 lecture
 were
 had
 highly
 positive

scores
and
mentions.




There
 were
 three
 qualitative
 questions
 at
 the
 end
 of
 the
 survey
 as
 well
 aimed
 at

determining
 the
 areas
 that
 most
 liked
 or
 disliked
 the
 students
 as
 well
 as
 the

elements
 that
 they
 would
 have
 wanted
 the
 course
 to
 cover.
 Several
 students

suggested
 the
 course
 to
 take
 longer
 though
 only
 one
 mention
 of
 the
 period
 was

made
–
5
days
(similar
with
the
December
2008
course
time)



As
a
good
point
it
was
noted,
as
with
the
last
semester,
that
the
practical
aspects
of

the
course.






Recommendations
and
suggestions:



Taking
into
account
the
students’
observations
and
in
an
attempt
to
make
a
link
to

the
areas
determined
in
the
course
evaluation
as
having
a
potential
for
improvement

it
is
suggested
that:

     • the
 next
 New
 Media
 course
 will
 accept
 only
 those
 students
 that
 pass
 an

         initial
interview
(similar
with
a
hiring
interview
that
would
test
the
students’

         awareness
and
use
of
the
new
technologies
as
well
as
their
ability
to
keep
up

         the
 pace
 with
 a
 highly
 language
 specialized
 class);
 this
 will
 also
 sort
 the

         problem
 of
 lack
 of
 relevance
 of
 the
 course
 to
 the
 student’s
 curriculum
 and

         career
interests

 the
 end
 of
 the
 New
 Media
 course,
 the
 14
 participating
 students
 were
 asked
 to
 take
a
survey
in
order
to
evaluate
the
New
Media
course
together
with
the
lecturer’s
 method,
 approach
 and
 enthusiasm.
 The
 evaluation
 survey
 was
 accessible
 online
 leaving
students
with
the
option
of
taking
it
at
their
own
pace
and
in
the
absence
of
 the
lecturer.
To
avoid
bias,
students
were
asked
to
submit
their
answers
before
their
 finals
grades
were
delivered.
12
out
of
the
total
 of
14
students
answered
took
the
 survey,
offering
responses
from
85.7%
of
the
course
participants.

 The
majority
of
the
answers
given
to
the
questions
asked
is
in
the
higher
positive
 range
–
from
good
to
excellent.

areas
marked
the
students
as
being
excellent
(obtaining
also
the
majority
vote)

enthusiasm

use

technology

 In
 comparison
 with
 the
 last
 semester
 evaluations,
 this
 semester’s
 shows
 a
 considerable
 improvement.
 It
 is
 considered
 that
 the
 newly
 introduced
 online
 live
 video
 guest
 lecture
 given
 by
 Dr
 Mugur
 Geana
 of
 the
 University
 of
 Kansas
 from
 Lawrense,
Kansas,
USA
together
with
the
Netlog
visit
helped
achieve
such
scores.
As
 a
 matter
 of
 fact,
 the
 Netlog
 vizit
 and
 the
 guest
 lecture
 were
 had
 highly
 positive
 scores
and
mentions.

 
 There
 were
 three
 qualitative
 questions
 at
 the
 end
 of
 the
 survey
 as
 well
 aimed
 at
 determining
 the
 areas
 that
 most
 liked
 or
 disliked
 the
 students
 as
 well
 as
 the
 elements
 that
 they
 would
 have
 wanted
 the
 course
 to
 cover.
 Several
 students
 suggested
 the
 course
 to
 take
 longer
 though
 only
 one
 mention
 of
 the
 period
 was
 made
–
5
days
(similar
with
the
December
2008
course
time)
 
 As
a
good
point
it
was
noted,
as
with
the
last
semester,
that
the
practical
aspects
of
 the
course.

 
 
 Recommendations
and
suggestions:
 
 Taking
into
account
the
students’
observations
and
in
an
attempt
to
make
a
link
to
 the
areas
determined
in
the
course
evaluation
as
having
a
potential
for
improvement
 it
is
suggested
that:
 • the
 next
 New
 Media
 course
 will
 accept
 only
 those
 students
 that
 pass
 an
 initial
interview
(similar
with
a
hiring
interview
that
would
test
the
students’
 awareness
and
use
of
the
new
technologies
as
well
as
their
ability
to
keep
up
 the
 pace
 with
 a
 highly
 language
 specialized
 class);
 this
 will
 also
 sort
 the
 problem
 of
 lack
 of
 relevance
 of
 the
 course
 to
 the
 student’s
 curriculum
 and
 career
interests
