PSUT & Social Responsibility
• PSUT Provide markets in Jordan and the region with highly qualified and well skilled graduates in the
field of Technology.
• PSUT is engaged in many exchange programs and joint programs on an international level (e.g. E+ICM)
in order to facilitate students’ engagements in social, cultural, and humanitarian activities.
• PSUT Deanship of Student’s Affairs includes many activities and clubs that contributes to serving
the community.
• PSUT has reputable collaborations under several EU-Funded CBHE Projects with a total number of 41
projects, PSUT is grant holder for 5 of those projects.

First: Migration and Intercultural Dialogue
Migration
• PSUT & Kiron; Kiron is an NGO that works on developing and providing online courses mainly for Syrian refugees. Students in program
are allowed to continue their study in PSUT till the end of BSc degree.
• PSUT is an active educational partner with HOPES(Madad) program funded by several EU organizations, to support refugee students on
their Post Graduate & Under Graduate studies.
• PSUT is an active and co-funder Higher Education Institution for Abdullah Al-Ghurair Foundation for Education (AGFE) STEM Program to
support refugees & disadvantage students.
• Campaigns to help restore schools in Zaatari Refugee Camp.
• Joint cooperation with BATH University in a project for the Azraq and Al-Zaatari Syrian refugee camps, under the title “Appropriate housing
for refugees living in difficult climatic conditions”.
• "The Light of Knowledge" Library in the Zaatari Camp for Syrian Refugees donated by PSUT , in cooperation with the Jordanian Library
and Information Association. Itis considered the first library to be developed in the camp.
• PSUT has rehabilitated and trained more than (20) libraries to work in the libraries of Tafila Governorate, in cooperation with the Jordanian
Library and Information Association.
• Support and improve living conditions of Children in the camp.
• Educational and entertainment activities for children living in camps.
• Financial aid from PSUT and other volunteers offered for Zaatari Camp.

First: Migration and intercultural dialogue (cont.)
Intercultural Dialogue
• 2016-Joint effort of the Higher Council for Science and Technology’s organizations, RSS and the Princess
Sumaya University for Technology on promoting positive cultural and intellectual tendencies, through the
launch of many cultural programs.
• 2019-PSUT participation in a unique experience in the fields of art of debating, and constructive intellectual
dialogue:
Jordan was represented by the following university teams: the University of Jordan and the Princess
Sumaya University for Technology.
PSUT team participated in the Fifth International Universities Arabic Debating Championship, won 1st place
and was crowned world champion, Doha, Qatar, 2019.
Won the 1st Asian Arabic Language University Debating Tournament Asian champion in Malaysia, 2019

• Security Training workshops in Forensics for governmental agencies free of charge.
• PSUT will host a community Awareness & Gaming session in SDGS (Sustainability Development Goals); 40 students
will join implementation of 2030 SDGS Japanese Game for the first time in Jordan & Arab courtiers, in 2020.
• Built software solutions for government agencies and not-for-profit agencies. Examples :
Application for Food and Drug agency
Application for Green Buildings Council in Jordan.
• Training for high school and elementary school students (class grade 7-12) in programming and codability through
our ACM chapter
• Problem Solving training to Jordanian universities. Our ACM chapter offers continuously training in problem-solving
to all Jordanian universities.
• Mandatory requirement for graduation; each students must plant a tree in a designated area operated by PSUT as
part of their community service activities.

• European Funded Projects:
PSUT was selected to lead on several products funded by Tempus Erasmus+ schemes.
We helped build capacity and improve many Jordanian universities through these European programs.
• JoAnimate; a festival and conference open for public which includes contest, workshops, movie nights and gaming
activities
• Google Training: it was first of time to be held to PSUT Faculty to introduce Google cloud
• Arabic Content: PSUT has held several workshop and participated in several conference to increase the Arabic content
online and raise its level. As a result a start up “Mawdoo3” was established in 2011 A comprehensive online Arabic
content publisher, based in Jordan, that uses the wiki system similar to Wikipedia, and provides premium quality Arabic
content . Mawdoo3 is one of Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship Alumni & Start-ups
• Game Summit: it was annual international conference for gamming was held with the support of PSUT staff and students
to promote Jordan as hub form gaming in the region

• PSUT - Cisco Academy: international Academy that is interested in networking, it teaches students in general
the skills needed to build, design, and maintain, networks.
• PSUT Robotics Club: made of engineering and IT students. They are upgrading capabilities for students and
participating in reputable competitions.
• JOI contest: Jordan Olympiad of informatics, it is a contest held many times at PSUT for public and private
schools in Jordan to promote computational education in Jordan
• IOI Training: training for public and private schools in Jordan to leverage their capacity so they can participate
in international Olympiad of informatics
• JCPC contest Jordanian Collegiate programming contest which was held first time ever at PSUT and many
times later to increase the capacity of the Jordanian student in problem solving

• Jordan Top Hacker: a scientific competition to support obtaining the necessary expertise in the field of digital
information protection and knowledge of scientific truth about the ethical hacking principles.
• Amman Tech Tuesday for several years tech expert help a monthly meeting each first Tuesday of every month at PSUT
to discuss new topic in IT.
• Women in CS is an activity to promote and elaborate the women role in Computer Science in PSUT and Jordan
• Animation and Stop Motion workshops held at PSUT to teach public these topic
• IEEE extreme: Jordan teams of this worldwide contest were hosted several times in PSUT, hundreds of Jordanian
programmers were accommodated for 24 hours each time. PSUT won the 1st, 2nd, 4th Arab and 4th , 6th, 22nd, 61st
and 91st Worldwide out of 4103 teams in 2019.
• PSUT won the 1st & 2nd PLACE champions of Middle East and Africa ACM International Collegiate Programming
Contest (ICPC), 2019

• MIRA (2008 - 2013):
Aims at developing a scientific and technological partnership between the European Union (EU)
and the Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC), by the use of dialogue platforms, identifying
topics of common scientific interest, promoting the creation of an Observatory of EU-MPC
scientific cooperation.
• MED-Dialogue (2014 - 2016):
The Dialogue between EU and the Region by preparing focused Position Papers on the issues
relevant for the EU-MPC research cooperation in Horizon 2020.
• PRIMA (2017):
A 10-year agreement has been initiated to create new research and innovation approaches to
improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in the region.

• Access to theses published by PSUT students:
Very recently, the cooperation between the graduate school and the library led to the theses database,
which includes all master theses published by PSUT available for the public.
The link to this database is available on the graduate school website, and it can be accessed freely by
anyone. Through this database, full theses download option is available, without requesting any fees or
access permissions.
• Access to PSUT faculty research:
all research conducted by PSUT faculty members have been posted through the research database
Aim to link PSUT researchers to the community through keywords needed by the community.

Fourth: Entrepreneurship and Professional Integration
• Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE), a non-profit organization was established in 2004 to help develop the
field of technology entrepreneurship in Jordan.
• Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC) which is open to universities, entrepreneurs and
professionals from different sectors.
• The annual event of The “Global Entrepreneurship Week “; Aim to promote the culture of entrepreneurship among the
Jordanian society, especially young people, and works to utilize that group to help transform Jordan into a regional hub
for entrepreneurship.
• QRCE partners with El Hassan Science City, The Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST), El Hassan
Business Park (EHBP), and The Royal Scientific Society (RSS). Partnerships aim to offers students, scientists and
entrepreneurs the space and facilities to apply intellect and technology to today’s critical challenges.
