Rev. Richard R. Hanshaw Jr. graduated from Messiah College in 1984 with a B.S. in Social Welfare and from Winebrenner Theological Seminary in 1989 with an M.Div. He has served as pastor at several churches from 1989 to 2009 and currently works as the department manager of the Frozen Foods department at Mutzabaugh's Market since 1994. He enjoys hobbies such as hiking, bowling, and movies. Rev. Hanshaw has been involved in ministry for over 30 years.

Graduated from Messiah College in 1984 with a B.S. in Social Welfare (i.e. social
work). Interned a semester my sophomore year at Messiah Village. Took several
courses in geriatric social work.

MINISTERIAL HISTORY
Pastor at the Duncannon and Logania Churches of God from 1989-1994.
Pastor at the Middle Cove Bible Church from 1994-1997.
Pastor at the East Hanover Church of God from 1997-2005.
Pastor at the Green Street Church of God 2005-2009.
Pastoral duties included preaching, Bible study, counseling, home communion,
developing and leading the worship services, home as well as hospital and nursing
home visitation, personal study, prayer, and out reach efforts.
SECULAR WORK HISTORY
Case worker with the Cumberland/Perry Mental Retardation Services 1984-1986.
Duties included case notes, visitation with clients and their families, connecting
clients with services, and intake interviews.
Department manager at Mutzabaugh's Market, Duncannon, Pa. 1994-present.
Began as a daytime stocker and was promoted to department manager (currently
head the Frozen Foods department). Have held a department management position
since around 1997. Duties include: ordering, stocking, overseeing employees,
scheduling (sometimes I write the schedules, sometimes other managers do so),
2. working with vendors, keeping the department in good appearance, keeping the
backstock freezer in good order, pricing, miscellaneous paperwork, working with
other departments as needed, and other tasks as assigned or as needed.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Born 8/26/62. Father was in the Army so we lived in several states. I have not,
however, been outside if the Continental U.S. Graduated high school at a school on
an Army base (Fort Campbell Kentucky). My family is from the greater Harrisburg
area.
Enjoy hiking, bowling, racquetball, billiards, movies, reading, and studying among
other things. Enjoy learning. Collect key chains and have (but are not actively
collecting) a small collection of stamps, coins, and comics.
Have been aware of God’s presence in my life for as long as I can remember and
entered into God’s Family in early grade school.
Possess good communication and listening skills as well as a solid knowledge of
biblical teaching and the ability to apply it to the “real” world.
Married once, no children. Divorced in 1996.
