General Manager CityPost Portugal, a company providing postal delivery services since July
2010 until March 2011. Implementation of management by objectives , creation of KPI´s
and tools to a more efficient and reliable control, namely Information Technologies

Print and Distribution Director, Páginas Amarelas, SA (PA) (Yellow Pages), Truvo Group,
from January 2003 until March 2010.
Management of a 5 people team, 3 of them as direct reports. Management of the different
entities involved in the Print and Distribution Process (more than 10): Publishers,
Distributors, Call Centers and Transportation Services. The Distribution is addressed and
made at national level, involving the work of about 500 persons as a whole.
Main areas of intervention
Procurement of raw-materials and International Negotiation (member of the
International Council for purchasing paper from Truvo, since its foundation in 1986).
Paper purchase volume is around 6 M Euros.
Planning and Logistics Control of Raw-materials (10,000 tons paper per annum)
and Finished Product (6 million books per annum).
Planning, Control and Production and Distribution Quality Assurance Process.
o Significant impact on cost and delivery time reduction.
o Establishment of quality assurance procedures.
o Level of satisfaction with the distribution process, 98%.

Distribution Management
o Designed and implemented strategies which allowed to improve service levels
and reduce costs, finding alternative business partners and finally ending the 40
years monopoly in the distribution of Directories.
The outcome was the introduction of a new "player" on the Portuguese
market, which allowed for greater flexibility and competitiveness,
resulting in significant cost reductions and quality improvement.
In the 2nd year, cost reduction exceeded 2 M euros.
o Implementation of new distribution channels, business process re-engineering
and new information systems.
Implementation of SAP in Finished Product Warehouse management.
Implementation of Business Intelligence Systems for creating
Distribution Lists (Set Analyser e Business Objects).
Development of decision support planning systems, using
multidimensional analysis techniques.
Reorganization Project of the Graphic Design and Publishing Department (in
accumulation) at PA, from October 2006 until June 2008.
Responsible for the various teams, involving about 30 persons, who performed the creation
and graphic composition of all advertisements for print and online products, includind
pagination and revision (about 40,000 advertisement proposals and finished
advertisements, over 20,000 pages produced per annum).
Created and implemented new management strategies in this Department which
permitted to improve performance and quality and to reduce costs.
o Coordinated the Implementation of a new software tool for the pagination of
books that are part of Páginas Amarelas (Yellow Pages) portfolio. Made up for the
lost time of the Project by motivating people and negotiating with external
partners. PA (Yellow Pages) was considered a reference within Truvo due to its
success, the introduced innovations and improvements which have shown returns
in quality and costs.
o Improved the levels of quality perception and Customer satisfaction as well as the
productivity level of all Department areas, which was increased by nearly 10% and
the respective unit costs were reduced by more than 20%.

o Cooperated in the design of new products and respective implementation,
adjusting production capacity to demand levels.
o Implemented a Quality Improvement Award with a view to promoting and
improving quality and to developing conditions for greater creativity and
innovation.
o Created and implemented a Protocol with the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar in
order to share experiences and knowledge within the scope of said Award.
o Practiced coaching and developed the skills of the Department's professionals, in
particular department heads, making them more autonomous. According to the
Employee Opinion Survey, motivation increased significantly.
Integration of the Book Production Service (7 people) in the above mentioned
Department.
