Gestalt psychology views perception and human psyche as a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. It was developed around 1910 by Max Wertheimer, Kurt Koffka, and Wolfgang Kohler in opposition to structuralism, which breaks down psychological events into smaller components. The key idea of Gestalt psychology is that meaning is often lost when psychological phenomena are analyzed separately rather than together as a unified whole.

Psychology is the science of the mind and behavior.
The word "psychology" comes from the Greek word psyche meaning "breath, spirit,
soul", and the Greek word logia meaning the “study of something”.
Psychology has many “school of thoughts”.
One of them is GESTALT, SCHOOL OF THOUGHT.

5. Gestalt Psychology
 Word Gestalt means “whole”.
 In Gestalt psychology we take perception as a whole.
 The whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts”.

 Conveys that meaning is often lost when psychological events are
broken down.
