Florence attended Keppel School in her youth and excelled in mathematics, scoring an A* in her PSLE exams. She enjoyed all her teachers but favored her mathematics teacher the most because mathematics was her best and favorite subject. While she had many friends in primary school, she considered them all equal as her best friend. Compared to schools today, Florence felt primary schools in her time were less stressful and that recess games have changed over the years.

2. My Interview
• I interviewed my father’s office
friend, Florence, on her primary
school, friends, teachers and
subjects. She went to Keppel
School in her youth. She used to be
very good in mathematics. She
easily agrees with this wonderful
quote by S. Gudder, ”The essence
of mathematics is not to make
simple things complicated, but to
make complicated things simple.”
Her favourite subject was no doubt
mathematic as she claims that
mathematics is the only subject in
which one can score full marks
which is a dream for primary
school students these days. She said
that in her PSLE examinations she
scored a A* for her mathematics.

3. My Interview
• She says that in primary school she liked
all teachers but chose her mathematics
teacher when asked about her favourite
teacher. When asked why, she states that
her mathematics teacher was chosen as the
subject was her best and favourite. She tells
me that her favourite teacher taught
mathematics and English to their class.
When asked if she had a lot of friends she
says that in her younger days she had
many friends. But when asked about her
best friend she says that to her all friends
were equal to her. I asked her what was the
difference she found between primary
schools nowadays and in the old days. She
says that the schools now are more
stressful than the schools before. She also
points out that the games played those
days and the games played now are
different in many ways. With my
interview over I thank her profusely for
her time and for being a good interviewee.
