Production Process Evaluation
Research
• There were many strengths and weakness's for my research into my audio
production. One strength is that when had chosen what my project was
going to be based on, I included a lot of information on mind map
explaining and expanding in to different ideas within the topic. I included
details such as tone and the sound effects. One weakness for my research
is that I did no include enough detail for the three ideas I explored at the
beginning. I should of talked more about precise information such as
possible sound effects which I could use for that topic of audio production.
• My research helped me to produce my project to the high standard which
I wanted. I did this by included some sound effects which I had researched
before recording. I was also quick able to take one of the chosen names
from my mind map and apply that to my project. I was also able to go
through the ideas of sounds effects and download on to my drive ready for
use when I started production on my audio.
Planning
• In my planning document (product experiments) there are many key
strengths and weakness's. One strength for my planning document is that I
managed to record my full experiment in one full take, I completed my
recording in one take this is a strength and weakness’s because it means I
did not have a lot of tools to use on adobe audition. However it also saved
me time which I could then spend my final production. My planning
helped me when completing my final production because when I stated
this project, I was completely new to editing audio so any experience I
gained when completing my experiments has helped me to complete my
final production. If I was to improve anything on my product experiments
it to have spent more time using adobe audition, this would have allowed
me to gain the skills need to complete my final production to a
professional standard.
Time Management
• I personally think that I managed my time really well considering I had one
week off at the beginning of the project, this meant that when I came
back I was behind on my work, so I had to complete some work at home
to allow me to catch up and hand all my work in for the deadline set. If I
had some more time then I think I could have spent more time on
explaining some of the points I made in the research power points, I also
think that I would have been able to include more music and sound effects
into my final production. This would have made my production longer, an
sound like professional radio cover. I would have also spent more time on
my product experiments, this is because it would have allowed me gain
the necessary skills needed to edit my final production.
Technical Qualities
My completed work has many similarities with similar exciting products such as bbc radio
york, this is because there radio show covers a lot of the latest new on football, just like my
show does. Another similar exciting product is 5live, this is simular to my radio cover becase
Aural Qualities
• Yes I personally think that work does sound good, this is because there are
unique songs played along side of my voice which give the radio show a
modern yet pleasing sound. I like that at the beginning of my audio
product I have chosen to use unique song that isn’t very popular and sue it
to introduce my radio cover. I also like that for each topic I started to talk
about I chose music which would match top the sport such as for boxing I
chose a song with heavy bass to act as the sound of some getting
punched. If I was to improve my work I would actually add in sound effects
which will match in when I am talking, for example when I was talking
about formula 1 I could have used the sound of a racing car as a sound
effect which would have made my audio more interesting to listen to.
• One weakness for my production is that I did not include any sound
effects, this is a weakness because some people may find that my audio
will be less interesting to listen to with no sound effects.
Audience Appeal
• I have made my audio production acceptable for people aged 13
and above, I have managed to accomplish this by including
content that this age group will like, such as including the latest
scores and news for the sport, because people aged below 13
might not find these fact interesting. I have aimed my audio at all
genders, this is because in my audio I will talk about sports related
to all genders so that either or gender will not be offended.
• The music in which I have including in my audio has been selected
so that it does not offend any gender, I know this because I check
through when listening to the music that it does not include any
offensive language to any gender.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the intro and outro used for the production
– The script which you made for the audio was also
good
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Maybe include some sound effects
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how smooth the audio runs
– You did a good job on editing the audio
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Make the audio production a bit longer
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how well you have edited the music
– You have done a good job at combining the audio
with the music
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Include some sound effects to make it more
interesting
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that my work has been edited well and
that the audio runs nice and smooth along side
the music.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I don’t think that I need to make my production
any longer than what it has to be
Peer Feedback Summary
• If I was to change anything to my audio production based upon my peer
feedback it would be to include some sound effects. Some sounds effects
I would include are ;
I would include these sound
effects all over different parts
of my audio production, this
will make my audio less boring
and more interesting to listen
to. I would also include more
story on different sports, this
is because more people will
then be interested because
there favourite sport maybe
talked about on my show. I
would also cut out small little
sounds from the background
so that my audio sound better
and to more professional
standard.
