RESEARCH TASK
8: CONCLUSIONS
Audience research: There are similar products to what I am making in the market already, with the
same target audience. However, they are made by a variety of conglomerates
Genre research: The audience will expect general conventions to be followed and it will be expected
to have meaning, not just be a video.
Graphic elements: I will be expected to make a video which is a narrative story and have a range of
camera shots with it applying to 16 to 24 year olds from any race. Also, things that would appear
conventionally is the artist shown perform it and the story previously mentioned with use of
mise en scène to elevate the video. I would also have to make sure that the video itself has meaning.
For the website I will be expected to be enticing and eye catching, but not too over the top that it
looks tacky and cause eye strain. I would be expected to use effective fonts that don’t distract the
reader but intrigue them into staying focused on the page. I will need to be clear on this website
where everything is and make it accessible to get to the links.
House style: To construct a coherent house style across both products I will be consistent on themes
in both media products, this is vital as this will determine if it is good or not, if the website and music
video are totally different or has no articulate explanation for this then it will be terrible.
