1. Day 1 Assure
Analyze the Learner: 24 second graders: 13 girls, 11 boys. 65% white, 25% African-American, 10%
Hispanic. 6 students have varying levels of ADHD. These students prefer to learn by doing hands -on
activities.
State Objectives: My second graders will comment on the Facebook page about the Pilgrims after they
are introduced to the turkey robot, listen to a podcast on the culture of the Pilgrims, and make little
Pilgrim figurines out of recycled materials. They will complete this with 85% accuracy.
Methods, Media and Materials: Robot, podcast, Pinterest, Facebook.
Utilization: Students will learn a little bit about how robots are created, how podcasts work, learn how
to complete an art project using Pinterest, and how to post statuses on Facebook.
Learner Participation: I am leading my class in this lesson but I am also giving them room to explore how
technology works and how they can use it for education in many different ways.
Evaluate and Revise: I will be sure to check all media and materials to make sure they are working
properly before starting my lesson on the Pilgrims and their culture.
Day 2 Assure

activities.
State Objectives: My second graders will tweet about what they learned about the Indians and their
culture seeing an edited picture of an Indian, making Indian headbands, and completing the culture
sections of the Word web quest. They will do this with 85% accuracy.
Methods, Media and Materials: Photo Editing, web quest, Twitter.
Utilization: Students will see how photos can be edited and changed to look better and how sometimes,
the edited picture will look nothing like the original. They will learn how to navigate through the Internet
while completing the web quest and they will create a Twitter account and get an idea about social
media.
Learner Participation: The web quest is designed for students to be able to go through the entire lesson
without needing help from the instructor. The knowledge they gain is completely up to them, depending
on whether or not they complete the web quest.
Evaluate and Revise: I will make sure the web quest is easily accessible and all the links on it work. I will
also be sure to check that Twitter is running properly.
Day 3 Assure

activities.
State Objectives: My second graders will explore a kids’ blog located online after completing the Zunal
web quest, building paper boats to sail down the creek and make a class turkey poster. They will do this
with 85% accuracy.
Methods, Media and Materials: web quest, blog.
Utilization: Students will learn about the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean by completing the web quest
and they will also learn how blogs can be used to talk to people about any topics you have similar
interest in.
Learner Participation: The web quest is designed for students to be able to go through the entire lesson
without needing help from the instructor. They will also participate in the kids’ blog.
Evaluate and Revise: I will be sure to check that the web quest is working properly and all the links are
present. I will also be sure to check the blog site to make sure it is actually for kids and is safe and
appropriate to use.
Day 4 Assure

Hispanic. 6 students have varying levels of ADHD. These students prefer to learn by doing hands -on
activities.
State Objectives: My second graders will take an online quiz on the fi rst thanksgiving after they finish
the Word web quest and watch a YouTube video on the Pilgrims’ settlement. They will do this with 85%
accuracy.
Methods, Media and Materials: web quest, YouTube, online quiz.
Utilization: Students will learn the truth about how the Pilgrims settled in America and their relationship
with the Indians by watching the video and completing the web quest. They will be quizzed on what
they’ve learned thus far.
Learner Participation: The web quest gives room for students to learn and find things out on their own
without the instructor telling them everything they need to know. They get a better understanding of
technology when they are the ones finding things out.
Evaluate and Revise: I will make sure to the web quest is working properly, the YouTube video is
available and appropriate, and the quiz is relevant and all the answers are correct.
Day 5 Assure
3. Analyze the Learner: 24 second graders: 13 girls, 11 boys. 65% white, 25% African-American, 10%
Hispanic. 6 students have varying levels of ADHD. These students prefer to learn by doing hands-on
activities.
State Objectives: My second graders will be given an event of the first thanksgiving and work together to
put them in sequential order on the timeline in the hall after they watch the voki, learn about the myths
from the poster and video, and play thanksgiving games to refresh their memory of all the facts they
learned throughout the week. They will do this with 85% accuracy.
Methods, Media and Materials: Voki, YouTube video, game website.
Utilization: Students will learn the myths by watching the video I created. They will learn how easy it is
to take videos and upload them to YouTube.
Learner Participation: Students will have to use teamwork to figure out the order of events for the first
thanksgiving. They will also play games to refresh their memory on the week’s lessons.
Evaluate and Revise: I will check to make sure that the YouTube video is working properly, the myths
poster is accurate and the website for the games is appropriate and educational.
