name. After this lesson the instructor will assign a Spanish name to you.

5. Gender of Nouns

In Spanish, nouns will either be masculine or feminine. It is important that you use the correct gender when describing a
noun. Masculine nouns typically begin with el and end in “o”. Whereas, feminine nouns typically begin with la and
end with an “a”

• We’ll begin this portion of the lesson with some examples of greetings. Pay close attention to how these word are
spelled and how the sentences are formed. We will be going over detailed sentence formation in later chapters.

can also practice on a friend before moving on.
