School Reflection
The week of October16th through October 20th was pretty busy. I had three ARD meetings this week
but none of them depicted any issues. All the parents were very complimentary of the teachers and
their assistance in providing their children with the necessary tools to be academically successfully.
We had our school homecoming on Monday so I was busy assisting the committee on preparation for
the evening event. All eight grade teachers are required to be a part of this committee so that includes
me. I enjoy events like this because when you participate the students (most) appreciate your hard
work and seeing you there at their special event. After school on Monday, October 16th I assisted the
band director, cheerleading coach, and football coach in lining up the students outside so we could
have a couple run through practices on how the evening would transpire. It was nice seeing all the
students and faculty coming together to coordinate and plan such a memorable event. As usual, on
Tuesday and Thursday of this week I went to Alexander High School immediately after finishing at
Trautmann (whew!). We continued working with the students whose STAAR, benchmark, and CBA
scores were low last year so that we can bring them up to par. We have been mainly focusing on
seniors, special education, and ELL students so that we can continue documenting procedural

Geography is such a holistic discipline that it requires much concentration and focus on its subject
matter. A geographer must focus on a specific topic that interests him or her and devote their brain
power to discovering how the area of interest is influenced by its geographic environment through a
spatial perspective. Thomas Jefferson is one such individual who committed throughout his life to
view the world through the spatial lens.
In William A. Koelsch s article on Thomas Jefferson, American Geographers, and the Uses of
Geography Koelsch makes the argument for the reanalysis of Jefferson s geographic prowess as basis
for his title as the Father of Modern Geography (Koelsch, 2010). If we know the current state of
modern geography, we can then trace the influencers of the current philosophical approach to spatial
thinking through our history books to then find the impact of Thomas Jefferson s influence on the
study of geography and how his influence has evolved geography into the expansive science it is

needs, they must extend deadlines, create make up work, and conform to the infamous special

education (Finn). The Knight Commission is a research group who unveiled that many universities

take a moment to reflect on the decisions we make as a society. When the locker room is nicer than the
entire medical department, or the head football coach is paid more than the governor of the state, it

required by law, resulting in damage to the party whom the duty was owed. Annie would have an
