My mind is a lot stronger than my body and I can t lie and say that it doesn t bother my state of mind
on most days. I have to fight against the pain that I feel everyday and try not to complain about it

suspicious behaviors at the same time as Poirot.The vocabulary was overall fairly easy, so it wasn t too
difficult to read. A weakness would be that I had a hard time getting into the book because the
beginning was quite boring. I wish Agatha Christie would have gotten into the mystery a bit sooner

In reading McCloskey s article it s obvious he is searching for definitive proof that God exists. He is
unable to find proof and therefore comes to the conclusion that God must not exist. He believes that
the existence of evil discredits arguments made in support of believing in God. There is not one single
thing in this world that we can know definitively without looking at the evidence. You have to look at
the whole picture. Just like in a criminal investigation, the crime scene investigators gather evidence
they are not looking for just the bullets or just the body. They look and gather all the data before

When you look at each of the arguments individually I can see how one might come to this
conclusion. The cosmological argument only proves (if accepted) that there is a necessary being;
however it does not prove that he is divine or perfect. The teleological argument by itself leaves us
wondering why we also see chaos in the world around us. Not everything is orderly and perfect. You
need to collectively look at each of the arguments prior to coming to a conclusion about the existence
of God.
McCloskey believes that because there is evil there is no God. There could be valid reasons for the
presence of evil in the world, though some may beyond our comprehension and understanding. There
needs to be some proof or evidence provided if one wants to make a claim that it s illogical for God
and evil to exist in the same world. McCloskey s article does not provide this proof. He just says that
because there is evil there is no God.
As parents we sometimes allow bad things to happen to our children to teach them a lesson. We make
a choice to allow them to deal with the consequences of their actions so they might learn from that
experience. If we are created in the image of God isn t it possible that as our Father, he allows us to
suffer sometimes to realize the consequences of our actions? It is possible and if it s possible then it
gives a good explanation why God may allow evil things to occur.

Viktor Emil Frankl was born on March, 26th 1905, at Czeringassa 7, in Leopoldstadt, in Vienna

child out of three children. His older brother, Walter was two and a half years older, and his younger
sister, Stella, was four years younger. His mother was Elsa Frankl, was a polish woman from Prague

He then developed what he called paradoxical intention. Paradoxical intention is a method which
encourages one to image themselves pushing into their fear rather than running from it, such as a
patient suffering from insomnia (Pg.112, Frankl, 2006). Instead of focusing on falling asleep the
patient would be asked to focus very hard on staying awake. The success of the paradoxical intention
is called dereflection, which is when the patient is focused back on the task. He met his wife, Tilly
Grossner, a nurse at the hospital, and they were married in 1941, and she was pregnant shortly after. In
1942 he was granted a visa to the United States, which would get him safely away from the
concentration camps; however the visa was only good for him. He went to his father who had a block
of marble from the ruins of a burned down synagogue. The marble had an etching of part of one of the
Ten Commandments, which Viktor inquired about. The marble represented the commandment Honor

this Viktor decided to stay with his family. The Nazis had forced Tilly to have an abortion as Jews
weren t allowed to have children (Redsand, 2006). Frankl began working on a book titled The Doctor
and the Soul and sewed it into his jacket to keep it hidden. The manuscript was the basic fundamentals

In 2011, the United States Fire Administration (USFA) reported that 83 firefighters forfeited their lives
while on the job. 87 line of duty deaths (LODD) occurred in 2010, 115 in 2005, and 81 in 1993.
Throughout the history of the United States Fire Service, firefighters have been dying in the line of
duty at a disturbingly dependable rate of approximately 100 each year. Although technological
innovations and a cultural shift towards safety have had a significant impact in curbing firefighter
LODD s over the years, the total number of fatalities per year has rarely deviated. This may seem
contradictory, until one understands that as the total population residing within the United States has
risen, so has the population of those employed as firefighters. Considering this, one may conclude that
total LODD s should increase analogously with the population of firefighters. Thankfully, advances in
education, engineering, equipment, and enforcement have reduced the total number of fatalities,
thereby evincing the erroneous nature of this supposition. The Fire Service has managed to diminish
the potential for LODD s, which is all very well and good, but as long as firefighters continue to die of
preventable causes, any and all prudent measures to attenuate those deaths should be taken. In light of
the fact that most firefighter LODD s are a result of sudden cardiac death, the most sensible method of

holocaust. He published most of his works for the underground press as they were brutally honest
from his personal experience. He struggled in search of good moral values despite his Nazi

camp in Auschwitz. The narrator was a polish prisoner who worked under Nazi rule, we can assume it
is based on Borowski s real life.
BODY 1: ABOUT LIFETadeusz Borowski was born in 1922 in a small town of Zhytomyr, Ukraine.
Both of his parents were sent to work elsewhere and his brother was in boarding school. Leading his
aunt to raise him. His parents and his brother returned in 1934. Despite his families financial situations
and the outbreak of WW2 he studied at secret gatherings and passed all his high school exams. In
1940 he enrolled at an underground polish literature faculty at Warsaw University and became one of
their best students. Borowski also earned money as a warehouser at a sale in Praga. He would soon
meet the woman who would become his wife, Maria at a monthly magazine meet(culture.pl). In 1942
he published his secret collection Gdziekolwiek Ziemba (Wherever the Earth). He was arrested in
1943 and sent to Auschwitz to a concentration camp then deported to a Dachau camp in Germany
