Points to ponder
4. Concept of Ugliness
● concept of ugliness is introduced when Victor sees the
creature for the first time, evidently being appalled by him:
“His limbs were in proportion, and I had selected his features
as beautiful. Beautiful!—Great God! His yellow skin scarcely
covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair
was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly
whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid
contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same
colour as the dun white sockets in which they were set, his
shrivelled complexion and straight black lips.” (Shelley #)
● ostracization of the Creature in the novel, we are
reminded of Marxism and Marx’ theory of
alienation.
5. ● Marx claims, humans are reduced to the level of an animal,
working only for the purpose of filling a physical gap,
producing under the compulsion of direct physical need.
(Mészáros #)
● People considered the creature as ‘Monster’ and
beaten by them brutally just because he is different
from others!
● He separates himself from the human being.
● Finds A cottage to live and learns to speak and read.
● Feels attachment with the neighbour.
● Helps that family without appearing in their sight.
● observing their kindness actually causes the monster to suffer, as he realizes
how truly alone is he.
6. ● He helps the blind man, both feels some type of attachment with eachother.
● Blind man does not feel any disgust from that monstar.
● But his family beats creature cruelly.
● Constantly being abused by society because of his looks.
● He has never done anything wrong with anyone. though, because of his
appearance society was not accepting him.
● He was nobel by his heart and deeds, but society made him monstar.
7. Frankenstein in
Contemporary Time
● The creature was not perfect like others
because he has been created from
deformity.
● Lots of stitches were there on his body.
● In 21st century people are doing Plastic
Surgeries, to look more beautiful.
● That is deformity. Creating different form
natural.
● Deformity of creature was disturbing the
society. nowadays the ‘fake’ beauty
standards of society is disturbing Individuals.
8. ● Society was no accepting creature because he is deformed and
now a days society is not accepting the one without plastic
surgeries, and Makeup
● Here is small video wich shows that how deformity of plastic
surgeries are affecting ‘Mental Peace’ of people.
9. ● Concept of ‘Almond Mom’.
● Yolanda Hadid, a Former model fixates how little
she’s eaten and how much weight she lost.
● Calls her daughter Gigi’s body “big and bulky”
and complains she “eats like men”.
● Allows her Gigi to eat a single bite of cake
on her own birthday!
● As a ‘creator’ she makes her to rely on ‘Almond Diet’.
● Article adds statement of Bianca,a 29 year old
animator living in california-
“My mom had put a device that made a cow noise in the fridge every
time you opened it so you could never get food without alerting anyone
or being made to feel ‘like a cow’” (Sinay)
10. ● Yolanda made her second daughter Bella Hadid, feel insecure and also made her to
do lots of plastic surgeries that now she is not Bella Hadid anymore, she has become
totally different from herself.
● Transformed her from Bella to Carla Bruni.
Transformation of bella hadid

11. ● We can not endup talking about surgeries without mentioning Kardashian sisters.
.
12.
13. ● To wear this dress of Marilyn Monroe, kim
kardashian starved herself as she said in
one interview:
“I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the
treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs,
and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein…I didn’t
starve myself, but I was so strict,” she said to the
fashion publication. (Gill)
● Plastic surgeries have become most
obvious thing in contemporary time.
● Fashion and beauty often focus on the
regulation and manipulation of female
bodies. (Kehoe #)
14. Survey of Cosmetic surgeries

the most detailed snapshot on cosmetic surgery trends around the world to date.”
● One of the biggest surprises was Japan, Italy and Mexico ranking 3rd, 4th and 5th
● The article has describes observation of Dr. Saltz.-
● places respectively “As part of this continued global upsurge in demand for cosmetic
