In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the paths of two extremely different men converge and propel them on a

An example of a major discourse operating in the contemporary world is a medical discourse. Frow
states that discourse is a mode of organization of knowledge in relation to material institutions
(2005, pg. 93); some of these institutions include hospitals, government health care, and the World

According to Hall, discourse is the production of knowledge through language (1997, pg. 44) and
it is through discourse that the topic is constructed. It is because of medical discourse that we have

of The Robber Bridegroom by Welty is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. In Campbell s
short story The Trespasser draws from the tale of Goldilocks and The Three Bears which was
originated by the Robert Southey. In each work, there are similarities as well as changes that are
made for significant reasons all related to folklore in which the context changes to better suit
